On February 24th 2020, Huawei newly upgraded its HUAWEI MateBook 13, the 13-inch ultra-portable device under the all-rounder MateBook Series. It targets at young professionals, and brings Huawei’s latest technologies to wider audience.

Combining the HUAWEI FullView display, extreme portability and premium build quality, the new HUAWEI MateBook 13 sets a new standard for devices of its class.

The new MateBook comes to a whole new level by fitting it with a 10th Generation Intel Core processor, 16 GB RAM, and adding supports for 2K HUAWEI FullView Display with Multi-touch and Multi-screen collaboration.

The HUAWEI MateBook Series represents both Huawei’s experience in mobile innovation and its commitment to producing the products of the highest quality. HUAWEI MateBook 13 features the signature HUAWEI MateBook design and the HUAWEI FullView display, and is powered by an 10th Generation Intel Core processor and a NVIDIA GeForce MX 2503.

For cooling, the new HUAWEI MateBook 13 features a shark fin-inspired cooling system that comprises low-noise, high-performance fans. In terms of appearance, the HUAWEI MateBook 13 includes a 2K HUAWEI FullView Display with multi-touch and a screen-to-body ratio of 88 percent.

The HUAWEI MateBook 13 takes the HUAWEI FullView design to the next level with an industry-leading screen-to-body ratio of 88 percent. With side bezels measuring at 4.4mm the HUAWEI MateBook houses a large display with its small form factor so as to retain its portability. Unlike most 16:9 laptops on the market, the HUAWEI MateBook 13 has a 3:2 display, allowing display more content for the convenience of the user.

The resolution of the display on a notebook plays a key role in delivering a quality user experience. Therefore, a high resolution display has been a staple of Huawei’s notebooks since the very beginning.

The HUAWEI MateBook 13 features a 2K display (2160 x 1440 at 200ppi) with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and supports 100 percent of the RGB color gamut. It can display vivid details for users when viewing HD pictures or playing Blu-Ray discs, and is more than capable of displaying images and videos with speed and accuracy.

A 2K HUAWEI FullView Display with Multi-touch is also available as an option on the HUAWEI MateBook 13. The display not only tracks multiple touch inputs with high precision, but supports Fingers Gesture Screenshot as well. By performing a three-finger downward swipe, users can quickly capture and save a screenshot.

HUAWEI MateBook 13 features a metallic, minimalist design. The edges are smoothly curved with aluminum chamfers cut with CNC diamond cutting. At only 286 x 211 x 14.9mm and about 1.3kg, HUAWEI MateBook 13 is in the ideal size and weight for users who are always on the go.

Targeting young professionals, the HUAWEI MateBook 13 is a lightweight notebook featuring FullView display and high-quality performance, bringing users a convenient and productive experience in a stylish package. In terms of performance, the top-end HUAWEI MateBook 13 is powered by 10th Generation Intel Core processor.

As well as upgrading the processor, we’ve equipped the HUAWEI MateBook 13 with up to 16 GB dual channel RAM. It also has a high-speed PCIe SSD, allowing creative individuals to express themselves without the burden of slow read or write speeds. Additionally, the HUAWEI MateBook 13 packs up to NVIDIA GeForce MX 250 with 2GB of GDDR5. This GPU provides all the graphics processing power to support image and video editing tasks, as well as entertainment experiences.

The operating performance of notebooks is highly correlated to their thermal performance, powerful devices tend to run hotter than their slower counterparts. HUAWEI MateBook 13 adopts the HUAWEI Shark Fin Design 2.0 for its cooling system. Inspired by its namesake, the solution uses high-speed fans to generate a high airflow for maximum thermal performance.

In addition, the Intelligent Filtering solution Data comes from Huawei labs.

The weight of the laptop with a discrete graphics card is 1.32 kg and when it is fitted with an integrated graphics card, its weight is 1.3 kg. The actual product weight may vary according to the product’s configuration, manufacturing techniques, and calculation methods monitors temperature change in real time and ensures stable performance.

Furthermore, the system provides maximum cooling performance with no worry about noise.

Today, smart device users can quickly unlock their smartphones with the touch of a finger, so naturally they would want to have notebooks that wakes up just as quickly. To that end, Huawei optimized boot up speeds at the BIOS level.

The HUAWEI MateBook 13 features the Fingerprint Power Button that integrates power, fingerprint verification and system sign-in into one button.
