Otome Title Even if Tempest Leaves Switch Exclusivity for PC via Steam
Voltage Inc. has confirmed that its dark fantasy otome visual novel even if TEMPEST is coming to PC, ending the title’s four-year run as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. A Steam store page for the game is already live, though the publisher has not yet set a release date.
Voltage announced the move on its official social media account, with the news arriving four years after the otome title originally launched on the Nintendo Switch on June 9, 2022, where it became one of Voltage’s most beloved console otome titles. Voltage’s own official product page for the game also lists the update, noting simply that the Steam page went live on July 6, 2026.
Anastasia’s Witch Trials Head to PC
Voltage’s former Switch exclusive AmuLit otome game Even if Tempest will show up on the PC via Steam, with the product page already live and no release date set yet, according to gaming outlet Siliconera. The publisher’s own product site frames the story starkly, opening with the line that “raging flames sear her flesh as scolding laughter weighs her down as lead,” describing the heroine’s last moments as “bereft of love, void of hope, and overflowing with despair.”
The story follows Anastasia, a noblewoman who is executed after being falsely accused of witchcraft. She is executed after being accused of being a witch, but it isn’t the end after that happens — instead, she’s revived and time is rewound, giving her a second chance to perform investigations and take part in witch trials again in order to find out what is going on and out the true villain. Along the way, Anastasia gets a chance to get closer to love interests like Prince Lucian, Crius, Tyril, and Zenn.
What Steam’s Listing Reveals — and What’s Still Missing
Details on the port remain sparse. There will be controller support, and family sharing is also supported for it, though no achievements are mentioned. English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese localizations will be present, but there’s no audio noted, and it’s unclear if it will be compatible with the Steam Deck.
The listing also carries a content advisory. According to the Steam store page, some scenes include suggestive dialogue, physical intimacy, and implied sexual intercourse via fade-to-black, though there is no explicit depiction of genitals or sexual acts, and all sexual developments are intended to be consensual within the context of the story’s romantic relationships.
A Danganronpa-Flavoured Mystery With a Fatal Rewind Twist
Japanese gaming outlet Automaton West describes even if TEMPEST as a dark fantasy set in a Western-style world where witch trials and burnings are commonplace. Players take on the role of Anastasia, the tormented daughter of a marquess, whose misfortunes ultimately lead her to be sentenced to burn at the stake — but right before her life is extinguished, she awakens to the power of “Fatal Rewind,” which allows her to turn back time and pursue a better outcome, though things are never as simple as they seem.
The game was directed and written by Ayane Ushio, known for the Norn9 series, with character illustrations by Norita, according to Voltage’s official credits page. A fan-disc sequel, Even if Tempest: Dawning Connections, followed a year later, and the game’s soundtracks are already sold worldwide on other platforms, with the company also set to release another Switch title in July 2026 called Sins of Kaleido.
Switch Discount Runs Alongside the Steam Reveal
Coinciding with the Steam announcement, Automaton West reports that the Switch version is currently discounted at 55% off until July 20 on the Nintendo eShop, along with its spinoff Dawning Connections at 50% off. That sale window gives existing Switch owners a reason to jump in before the PC crowd gets its own entry point.
The Switch original launched digitally at $49.99, per Voltage’s own listing, and it remains unclear whether the Steam version will carry the same price or receive local AUD/NZD storefront pricing at launch. For otome fans in New Zealand and Australia who never picked up a Switch, the Steam port nonetheless opens a long-awaited door into Voltage’s AmuLit brand without needing to import or own Nintendo’s console.
With no confirmed release window yet, Voltage says fans should watch the game’s official social channels for further updates, while the broader Witch Chronicles universe keeps expanding — Sins of Kaleido, a distant-future spinoff set 1,000 years after Even if Tempest, is due on Switch on July 16, 2026, also from director Ayane Ushio.
