Good Smile Reveals New Estelle Bright and Cafe Miku Nendoroid Figures at AX 2026
Good Smile Company used its Anime Expo 2026 presence in Los Angeles to show off two Nendoroid figures still in the works: a new chibi rendition of Estelle Bright from The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, and an original “Wa Modern Cafe” version of Hatsune Miku. The reveals surfaced through the toy maker’s social media channels as the convention opened, according to Siliconera and GoNintendo.
Neither figure has a confirmed price or release date yet, but the two are at very different points in production, giving collectors a rare side-by-side look at how a Good Smile figure moves from sketch to shelf.
Estelle Bright’s Nendoroid Arrives as a Painted Prototype
The Estelle Bright Nendoroid is the figure that is furthest along, showing up as a painted prototype in the social media reveal. It depicts her in the updated version of her costume from the first part of the remake, and confirms she’ll come with her staff as an accessory.
Good Smile’s own listing pages for a separate, earlier Estelle Nendoroid describe how the character has traditionally shipped with extra parts, noting she comes with a variety of extra parts that let you pose her ready for combat, including her staff and an orbment, plus a depressed expression and harmonica to recreate the touching scene where she plays her brother Joshua’s harmonica. Whether the new “1st Version” figure carries over any of those accessories remains to be confirmed once pre-orders open.
Because the prototype is already painted, Siliconera suggested that pre-orders might open in the next few weeks, with a launch pegged for early 2027. GoNintendo similarly noted that with a painted prototype already shown, information on launch and more should be coming in the very near future.
This isn’t Estelle’s first trip through Good Smile’s chibi treatment. The new figure follows an older Legend of Heroes figure of her that showed up alongside a Renne Nendoroid back in 2012. That earlier release tied into the character’s OVA appearance rather than her current remake look, making this new version the first built specifically around the modernised 1st Chapter remake.
Wa Modern Cafe Hatsune Miku Is Still an Early Concept
The Miku figure sits much further back on the production timeline. The new Hatsune Miku Nendoroid, dressed in a modern cafe waitress uniform, is a figure that is much earlier in development, with only concept art of the Vocaloid shown in Good Smile Company’s announcement.
Unlike Estelle’s design, which builds on a past release, the Miku figure is an entirely new design rather than a repaint or variant of an existing sculpt. Siliconera cautioned that fans probably won’t see unpainted and painted prototypes until events perhaps later in 2026 or early in 2027, meaning the wait for firm details will likely stretch well beyond Anime Expo.
It’s worth noting this cafe-set Miku is distinct from Good Smile’s separately released “Glasses x Cafe Ver.” Nendoroid, which originated as a Japan-only lottery prize before receiving a wider rollout earlier in 2026 — a reminder of just how many cafe-themed riffs on the virtual idol the company has produced.
The Panel Behind the Reveal
Both figures surfaced around Good Smile Company’s Hatsune Miku-focused panel at the show. Anime Expo’s own event listings described the session as the worldwide reveal of an all-new special Miku project, the latest figure updates, a look at racing Miku, and more, hosted across the convention’s July 2–5 run at the Los Angeles Convention Center, as corroborated by Bleeding Cool’s programming coverage.
Good Smile Company’s chairman Takanori Aki and company mascot-figurehead Kahotan were billed to headline the showcase, according to Anime Expo’s promotional materials, tying the Estelle and Miku updates into a broader slate of figure and racing-series news rolled out over the convention weekend.
Trails in the Sky’s Remake Momentum Continues
The Estelle reveal lands as Falcom’s remake campaign keeps building steam. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter can be found on the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC, with the follow-up 2nd Chapter set to appear on all four of those platforms on September 17, 2026. A merchandise push timed to that momentum makes sense for a franchise GoNintendo notes has received high acclaim both in Japan and overseas… and has sold over eight million units.
For Australian and New Zealand collectors, Good Smile figures typically reach the region through the company’s network of authorised partner retailers rather than a direct storefront, so local pricing and shipping windows for both new Nendoroids will likely depend on those third-party listings once pre-orders formally open.
