Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Store Listing Leak Hints at Story Expansion Pass

A newly surfaced Epic Games Store listing has fueled speculation that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the concluding chapter of Square Enix’s remake trilogy, could receive a dedicated story expansion pass. The listing was first spotted by IGN and later reported on by Insider Gaming, adding fresh detail to a game that only just made its public debut at Summer Game Fest.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is meant to close out the story that began with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, giving fans the long-promised resolution to the reimagined saga. But according to the leaked listing, Square Enix may not be finished expanding the narrative once the base game ships.

What the Leaked Listing Reveals

As Insider Gaming reports, the Epic Games Store page for Final Fantasy 7: Revelation lists a string of DLC entries numbered one through nine, alongside a pre-order bonus, a Premium Edition, and a separate Digital Contents pack. Among these entries is a listing labeled the “Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Story Expansion Pass,” which is what caught the attention of fans and outlets alike.

The presence of that specific label suggests Square Enix could be preparing substantial post-launch narrative content rather than just cosmetic or gameplay add-ons. However, none of this has been confirmed directly by Square Enix, and store listings can change or be placeholders ahead of an official announcement.

Director Has Already Hinted at the Possibility

This isn’t the first time the idea of extending the story beyond Revelation has come up. Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi has previously said that whether the team pursues an expansion depends heavily on how much continued support the game and franchise receive from fans.

Hamaguchi said the team is “open to exploring those possibilities proactively” if demand is strong enough. That comment lines up with the newly leaked store listing, though it stops short of confirming that any expansion is currently in active development.

Still Awaiting Official Confirmation

For now, the existence of a story expansion pass remains unconfirmed by Square Enix itself. Fans will likely need to wait for an official statement or a future showcase before knowing whether the Final Fantasy 7 saga is truly getting more chapters after Revelation’s conclusion.

Given how central Revelation is positioned as the finale of the remake trilogy, any confirmed expansion would be a significant deal for long-time fans who have followed Cloud and company’s reimagined journey since the first Remake launched. Until Square Enix comments directly, the leaked listing remains the best evidence that more story content could still be on the way.
