Amazon Prime Gaming: 12 Free PC Games to Claim and Keep in July 2026
Amazon has confirmed its July 2026 Prime Gaming lineup, with subscribers able to claim 12 free PC games across five weekly drops throughout the month. Video Games Chronicle reports that Amazon has confirmed this month’s wave of ‘free’ PC games for Amazon Prime subscribers on its Luna gaming service, and this month’s games include critically acclaimed RPG Symphony of War, and first-person psychological horror In Sound Mind. The batches are being redeemed via GOG, the Epic Games Store, Legacy Games and the Amazon Games App.
Symphony of War, CyClones and LoneStar Kick Off the Month
The first wave landed on July 2 with three titles spanning strategy, retro shooting and roguelike deckbuilding. According to Gaming Amigos, the standout of that trio is Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga, developed by Dancing Dragon Games, a turn-based strategy RPG that launched in June 2022 and draws clear inspiration from classics like Ogre Battle, tasking players with recruiting heroes, building armies and fighting across a campaign that runs between 30 and 40 hours.
It’s joined by CyClones, a 1994-vintage MS-DOS-style first-person shooter, and LoneStar, described by Beebom as a strategic roguelike spaceship deckbuilder where players take on the role of a bounty hunter capturing criminals across the universe.
Escape Room Titles Dominate the Mid-Month Drops
July 9 brought a smaller two-game batch. Still There, developed by GhostShark Games, casts players as a keeper wrestling with grief aboard a remote space lighthouse, solving technical puzzles and building an unlikely bond with a quirky AI companion, and gg.deals notes the game also lets players play chess against AI and enjoy wonderful everyday life among the stars. It’s paired with Regular Factory: Escape Room, another puzzle offering from serial Prime Gaming contributor mc2games.
The busiest week of the month arrives July 16, when three more games unlock at once. TheGamer calls this trio’s headliner the biggest of the entire month, describing Escape Academy as the headliner on July 16, casting players as a student training to become an escape room master. It’s joined by Poly Vita, an environmental puzzle game, and Framed Collection, a comic-panel puzzler bundling FRAMED and FRAMED 2.
In Sound Mind, Zoria and Weakless Close Out a Five-Thursday Month
July’s unusual five-Thursday calendar means the giveaways stretch further than usual. On July 23, Mystic Academy: Escape Room arrives alongside In Sound Mind, which GamerAnt describes as a fantasy-themed escape room game joined by the psychological horror game In Sound Mind, one part exploration and one part puzzle.
The final batch lands July 30 with Zoria: Age of Shattering and Weakless. Gaming Amigos describes Zoria, developed by Tiny Trinket Games, as a squad-based tactical RPG in which players lead a team of four heroes with unique skills through turn-based combat while managing an outpost between missions, while Weakless, developed by Punk Notion, is a puzzle-adventure built around two wooden creatures, one deaf and one blind, whose combined abilities are needed to navigate bioluminescent environments.
Games Are Redeemed Once, Kept Forever — Even Without Prime
Unlike subscription libraries such as PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass, Prime Gaming’s model hands out permanent redemption codes rather than time-limited access. VGC explains that while services like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass only give players access to each game for as long as they remain subscribed, Amazon’s games are instead codes redeemed on other stores such as GOG, the Epic Games Store and Amazon’s own games launcher, meaning players keep access even after cancelling Prime. TheGamer confirms the same mechanic, noting what really sets Prime Gaming apart is that claimed titles will never be taken away, even if a Prime subscription later lapses.
For Kiwi and Aussie players, access differs by market. Amazon’s own Australian customer service pages confirm that Amazon Australia’s Prime membership is only available to customers with an Australian billing address, and Amazon does not currently offer a full Prime program in New Zealand, where customers can instead sign up only for a Prime Video-only membership. That means Australian subscribers get the full July 2026 haul through Luna, while New Zealanders without an Australian billing address currently sit outside the official redemption path for these free PC games.
Members claiming July’s titles do so through a rebranded interface, with the Prime Gaming storefront now folded into Amazon’s Luna cloud-gaming hub, though the redemption mechanics for the monthly PC giveaways remain unchanged from previous years.
