JBL has breathed new life into classic hifi design with its latest product pairing, the JBL Authentics speaker range and the JBL Spinner BT turntable.

Perfectly complementing each other, the speakers and turntable update JBL’s heritage products with modern technologies that take nostalgic audio experiences to new heights with immersive sound, wireless connectivity, and sleek finishes.

Inspired by the brand’s rich history which spans over 75 years, the Authentics range features elements from iconic JBL designs such as the Quadrex grille pattern, from the phenomenally popular JBL L100 home speakers that were first released in 1970.

Blended with contemporary touches like softer flowing edges and a subtle convex form that references the force of powerful sound waves, the JBL Authentics range symbolises the best of JBL’s illustrious past and innovative present.

“JBL’s heritage is a huge part of our brand story. JBL was the speaker brand that powered Woodstock in ‘69; we have been the brand of choice for music studios since the golden age of rock. Being part of musical history has always been important to us, and the JBL Authentics range pays homage to our origins, while delivering the best audio quality, unique design, and features of the modern era,” says Michael Sherman, Senior Strategy Manager at JBL New Zealand.

“The classics never grow old. The JBL Authentics range draws from our iconic past with its retro design while delivering superior sound and technology such as Dolby Atmos and simultaneous voice assistants.”

The JBL Authentics speaker range draws on JBL’s storied history with a modern twist, with its design paying homage to the legendary JBL L100 speaker from the 1970s. With a premium aluminium frame, custom synthetic leather-wrapped enclosure, and a reimagined Quadrex grille, the JBL Authentics range is designed to impress.

The JBL Authentics speaker range allows listeners to experience superior audio performance. Available in three variations, the JBL Authentics 500 is the most feature-packed in the series: a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth smart speaker delivering Dolby Atmos to envelop listeners in immersive room-filling sound.

The JBL Authentics 300 offers portable, high-performance sound with a built-in 8-hour battery, while the JBL Authentics 200 fills any space with powerful well-balanced stereo sound thanks to its 1” tweeters, full-range 5” woofers and downfiring 6” passive radiator.

Designed with seamless user experience in mind, the JBL Authentics speakers feature a new integration built in collaboration with Amazon and Google that provides listeners simultaneous access to their voice assistants.

The JBL Spinner BT’s sleek design consists of an aluminium platter and tonearm, black MDF plinth with JBL orange or gold accents, a contemporary front panel, and a hinged dust cover that makes the unit an aesthetically pleasing sight.

Driven by a belt drive and motor with an optical sensor underneath, the die cast aluminium platter ensures records are played perfectly in time at 33⅓ RPM for albums, or 45 RPM for EPs and singles. The black MDF plinth enhances sound tonality for uncompromised playback.

The JBL Authentics speaker range and the JBL Spinner BT turntable will be available for purchase online and electronic retail stores.
