Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Details Iron Man’s Ranged Moves, Ultimate Attack

Arc System Works has pulled back the curtain on Iron Man’s full moveset for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, giving fans their clearest look yet at how Tony Stark fights in the upcoming crossover brawler. According to GamingBolt, the newly released character guide highlights the armored Avenger’s mix of ranged firepower and close-quarters mobility, including a devastating ultimate attack dubbed Champion Buster.

The breakdown arrives shortly after Arc System Works confirmed the game’s final playable team, the Samurai Outriders, rounding out the roster ahead of launch. Iron Man joins a growing lineup that already includes Blade, whose reveal was detailed separately by the developer.

A Familiar Arsenal With New Tricks

Players familiar with Iron Man’s appearances in the Marvel vs. Capcom series will recognize plenty of his kit, but GamingBolt notes this version brings fresh wrinkles to the character. Tony Stark can unleash a Unibeam, fire off multiple projectiles, and briefly take to the air with limited flight, giving him strong zoning tools alongside his aerial pressure.

One of the standout additions is his Smart Missiles attack. Because the missiles have a built-in delay before impact, players can use them to charge in and pressure opponents before the projectiles even land, according to the outlet’s report.

Iron Man’s mobility is further boosted by a Multi-Dash ability, which opens the door to aggressive mix-up opportunities. His Iron Avenger skill is also designed for rushing down opponents quickly, limiting their chances to react or counter.

Champion Buster Callback

The centerpiece of the reveal is Iron Man’s Ultimate Skill, Champion Buster, which GamingBolt describes as a clear nod to his history of building specialized armor to counter powerful threats. The move appears tailored specifically to deal with the game’s antagonist, known as the Champion.

It remains to be seen whether Champion Buster will fare better than past in-universe failures like the Hulk Buster or Sentinel Buster armors referenced in the report. Regardless, the outlet points to Iron Man’s Tōkon Assemble attack as a visual highlight, showing him teaming up with the armor to fire off a massive death laser.

Release Date and Beta Details

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to launch on August 6th for PS5 and PC. Ahead of release, an open beta will run from July 24th through July 26th, giving players hands-on access to much of the playable roster, including the recently revealed Blade, according to GamingBolt.

With the full team now confirmed and character reveals ramping up, fans of Marvel fighting games will have plenty to test out once the beta goes live later this month.
