Clash of Clans has returned its most-requested community feature, Global Chat, as of 17 June 2026, headlining the relaunch with a football campaign starring Thierry Henry, Kaka and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Developer Supercell timed the move to the build-up around football’s biggest prize, casting the three retired stars in a cinematic launch film that frames Global Chat as the team’s new arena for tactics and strategy.

The feature is visible to players worldwide from 17 June, giving millions a revamped in-game platform to find a clan and discuss winning tactics. The relaunch is paired with a football-themed in-game event built around a special Clan War League.

What Global Chat Brings Back

Global Chat returns as a revamped in-game platform for players to find their preferred clan and exchange tactics and strategies. Supercell describes it as the game’s most-requested community feature, positioning its return as the centrepiece of the campaign rather than a quiet patch addition.

The relaunch is anchored by a football-themed in-game event in which players take part in a special Clan War League, tying the competitive mode to the wider football moment the campaign is built around.

The Football Campaign and Big Hands Film

The campaign centres on a cinematic launch film styled like a high-end sports documentary, in which Henry, Kaka and Schweinsteiger reflect on competition, control and what it takes to win at the highest level. The familiar punditry setup breaks when the camera reveals the trio’s comically oversized hands, reframing players who once dominated with their feet as competitors who have adapted to a game played in their hands.

What the Players Said

Henry framed the move as a continuation of a competitive mindset rather than a departure from it. “Competition is a mindset. Whether it’s on the pitch or on your phone, that desire to win never leaves you,” he said, adding that a shared space for tactics like Global Chat “makes a real difference.”

Kaka tied the feature back to the community. “The return of Global Chat is a huge win for the community, because the true magic of Clash of Clans, just like in football, lies in the connection between people, the exchange of tactics, and the unity of the team,” he said, describing himself as ready for “the next attack” with the game in his hands.

Schweinsteiger drew the same line from football to the battlefield. “Great football teams are built on communication, trust, and the right tactics,” he said, pointing to teamwork and strategy as what drew him to the collaboration.

Players can jump into Clash of Clans from June 2026 to access the returning Global Chat and join the football-themed Clan War League event.
