Rockstar Games have confirmed that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 will open on 25 June across digital storefronts and select retailers, announced on 18 June alongside the reveal of the game’s official cover art. The studio shared the news in a post on X, with the high-resolution artwork now available to download in wallpaper form at Rockstar’s official GTA 6 website.

Rockstar did not announce a price. The standard edition cost, which has been the subject of intense speculation for more than a year, looks set to be revealed when pre-orders go live next week. GTA 6 remains scheduled to launch on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

When GTA 6 Pre-Orders Go Live

Pre-orders begin on Thursday 25 June on digital storefronts and at other select retailers. The game is already available to wishlist on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and the pre-order date strengthens the case that the 19 November release window is locked in.

The timing has also fuelled speculation that Rockstar could pair the pre-order launch with the long-awaited third trailer for the game, potentially using a new trailer as the lead-in to a pre-order call to action. No trailer date has been confirmed.

GTA 6 Price Still Unconfirmed

The biggest outstanding question is cost. Rumours have circulated for months that GTA 6 could become the first game to launch with a $100 standard edition, speculation reinforced by Take-Two Interactive’s repeated refusal to commit to a price on investor calls. Industry analysts have suggested the game could set a new pricing benchmark for blockbuster releases.

Speaking at the iicon video game executive conference in April, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick signalled the company wants players to feel the price is fair. “Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery,” Zelnick said. “How you feel about something you buy is the intersection of the thing itself and what you pay for. Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got.”

Zelnick framed the wider goal in similar terms. “What we think about is making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history, and it’s a pretty daunting challenge,” he said. “If we do that, and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself.”

What the GTA 6 Cover Art Shows

The artwork is headlined by the game’s dual protagonists, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, sandwiched between a motorbike rider pulling off a trick alongside a cop car, and a helicopter with a minigun strapped to one side. It follows the cover style Rockstar established with Grand Theft Auto 3, splitting the frame into panels that show off the activities and criminal elements the series is known for.

Lower down the cover sits an unknown woman wearing a necklace reading “siempre”, Spanish for “always”. On the right is Boobie Ike, a previously announced supporting character described as a real estate mogul and club owner. At the base of the cover appears to be Raul Bautista, a veteran Vice City bank robber who crosses paths with Lucia and Jason, alongside a sports car, a speedboat with a flamingo, and an alligator.

The composition leans into the game’s core concepts: toting weapons and driving a range of vehicles across an urban environment, then heading out into an open world where wild animals roam.

What Comes Next For GTA 6

With pre-orders set for 25 June, that date is now the most likely moment fans will finally learn how much GTA 6 will cost, and potentially when the next trailer arrives. GTA 6 launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
