WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition is expected to launch alongside the standard version of the game in early March 2026. While an exact date has not been confirmed, 2K has stated the game will release within Take-Two’s fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.

Industry reporting and internal guidance point to a launch in the first half of March, likely following the same pattern as WWE 2K24 and WWE 2K25. That would place the release just weeks before WrestleMania 42 on April 18, 2026, a window WWE traditionally uses to maximise hype around its biggest annual event.

Deluxe and Collector editions are also expected to include three days of early access.

WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition Pre-Order Date And Platforms

Pre-orders for WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition go live on January 30, 2026. Players will be able to pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Official pricing has not been announced yet, but early reports suggest the Attitude Era Edition will sit at a premium price point of around USD $99.99, similar to past high-tier editions. Full details on pre-order bonuses are expected to be revealed closer to launch.

Attitude Era Legends Take Centre Stage On The Cover

The Attitude Era Edition cover is a love letter to WWE’s most chaotic and influential years, featuring a stacked lineup of legends from the 1997–2002 period.

Confirmed superstars on the cover include Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kane, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Rock, Kurt Angle, The Dudley Boyz, Stephanie McMahon, Trish Stratus, Lita, and Chyna.

These superstars will also be playable in their Attitude Era gear, complete with era-specific entrances, animations, and gameplay styles.

Hardcore Match Types And Attitude Era Chaos Return

Footage shown in the Attitude Era teaser strongly leans into the brutal and unpredictable tone of late-90s WWE. Three classic match types are confirmed to be returning after missing from WWE 2K25.

Inferno Match, I Quit Match, and Three Stages of Hell are all back, with the Dumpster Match making its debut in WWE 2K26. These match types were staples of the Attitude Era and are a major draw for fans who want a more violent, anything-goes experience.

The trailer also teased recreations of legendary moments, including Stone Cold’s arrest, The Undertaker throwing Mankind off the Hell in a Cell, Kane delivering a chokeslam through a burning table, Kurt Angle’s infamous antics, and DX’s trademark pranks. Many of these scenes are expected to be playable as part of showcase content and special scenarios.

CM Punk Showcase Mode Confirmed

One of the biggest reveals comes from Insider Gaming, which reports that WWE 2K26’s Showcase Mode will focus on CM Punk.

The Showcase is said to be narrated by Punk himself and split into three sections. Players will relive some of Punk’s favourite matches from his WWE career, explore “What If?” scenarios imagining an alternate history where he never left in 2014, and take part in fantasy matchups against opponents he never faced.

It’s a bold choice that reflects Punk’s enduring popularity and controversial legacy, and it adds a modern twist to a game already celebrating WWE’s past.

The Island Mode Returns With A New Story

The Island mode, first introduced in WWE 2K25, is also set to return. This year’s story reportedly centres on a power struggle between three factions on the Island of Relevancy following Roman Reigns losing his status as Tribal Chief.

According to Insider Gaming, one of these factions will be called the Order of Anarchy, hinting at a more unstable and chaotic narrative direction for the mode in WWE 2K26.

A Nostalgic Hit For Longtime WWE Fans

Between the Attitude Era Edition, hardcore match types, a CM Punk-led Showcase, and the return of The Island, WWE 2K26 is shaping up to be one of the most nostalgia-driven entries in the series so far.

More details are expected in the coming weeks, but for fans who grew up during WWE’s wildest era, this year’s game looks ready to hit hard.
