The once PlayStation exclusive fighter, Tekken series, has exploded expansively since going across multiple platforms.

BandaiNamco’s latest entry, Tekken 8 holds true to this statement with a plethora of game options to keep you in the fight.

You’ll start of with a roster of over 30 characters from the Tekken universe.

You can tweak your chosen fighter in customization, creating multiple versions of the one character, dressing them for success and altering body and facial features.

There are some customisation options that do require you to purchase via Fight Money.

The first play mode if gaming on your own is likely to be the story – The Dark Awakens.

The narrative picks up six months after the events of the previous game and centers on the final confrontation between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama, where one must dies to restore the family legacy.

As the story plays out there is some Triple A video sequences broken up by battles.

But if you’ve got mates around, or keen to take it online, Tekken Fight Lounge is where the social fights begin.

Tekken 8 also has a couple of surprises.

Arcade Quest sees you progress through the entire Tekken history, revisiting the classics and my fav newbie is Tekken Ball, where you pummel each other, or your CPU opponent with varying beachballs. Think of a deadly game of Dodge Ball, where fighting moves are allowed. This is best played in multiplayer.

Tekken 8 has almost everything and it gives itself a deserved nod to the decades long legacy that has made it the king of fighting titles.
