Eight teams have qualified for the PUBG Mobile event at the 20th Asian Games Esports Events in Japan, emerging from the 2026 Asian Games Esports Qualifiers: PUBG Mobile Asian Games Version. The Qualifiers concluded on 23 June 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with Indonesia, Jordan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam securing the eight available slots after a Group Stage and Qualifiers Finals.

The eight qualified sides will join four teams that booked their places directly, setting up a 12-team field for the next stage in Japan.

The Eight Teams That Qualified Through the Finals

A field of 23 teams from across Asia competed for the eight slots, with several established PUBG Mobile Esports professionals among them. The eight that advanced through the Group Stage and Qualifiers Finals are listed below.

Pakistan finished top of the Qualifier Finals leaderboard, with Indonesia second and Vietnam third. The remaining qualified teams were not given individual leaderboard positions.

Four Teams Qualified Directly for the 20th Asian Games

The eight qualifiers will be joined by four teams that advanced without going through the 2026 Qualifiers. Three earned their places as the top finishers at the 19th Asian Games in 2022, and Japan qualified as the host region.

What the Finals Will Look Like

At the 20th Asian Games Esports Events, the 12 teams will compete on Miramar and Erangel. The qualified sides will revisit rivalries formed during the Qualifiers as they face the three medallists from the 19th Asian Games and the host nation. This marks the second Asian Games at which PUBG Mobile has featured as a competitive title.

The Teams to Watch Heading Into Japan

Pakistan enter the Finals as a leading contender after topping the leaderboard through the Qualifier Finals. Indonesia and Vietnam, who finished second and third respectively, remain in the conversation for the title on the strength of their Qualifiers form. The teams now move into their next phase of preparation ahead of the Finals in Japan, where one side will be crowned the strongest PUBG Mobile Esports team in Asia.

G2 and PUBG MOBILE Esports have announced a partnership to build out the mobile esports scene in Western Europe, kicking off with the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Club Open (PMCO) Western Europe Wildcard, which has registration open now. The deal, confirmed on 15 June 2026, pairs G2’s media and event operation with PUBG MOBILE Esports’ competitive ecosystem and introduces a regional ambassador programme fronted by German content creator JanickaGaming.

We’re teaming up to help grow the PUBG MOBILE esports ecosystem in Western Europe.
Also, registrations for 2026 PMCO WEU are officially OPEN 🔥

Think you have what it takes?

— G2 Esports (@G2esports) June 15, 2026

The Wildcard sits on the amateur-to-pro pathway, giving Western European players a route into the wider PUBG MOBILE competitive structure. G2 confirmed the open registration on its own channels, pointing fans to the sign-up link as the first public step of the partnership.

What The G2 And PUBG MOBILE Esports Partnership Covers

The partnership combines G2’s brand and production muscle with PUBG MOBILE Esports’ global competitive infrastructure, aimed squarely at growing the Western European audience. G2 carries more than 30 million fans worldwide and over a decade of experience building competitive communities and gaming content, which PUBG MOBILE Esports is leaning on to widen its reach in the region.

62, G2’s media house, handles the operational side. It specialises in white label content production, creator campaigns, media buying and event management, and will run tournament operations and community activations across the partnership. The brief is to connect more players and fans with the PUBG MOBILE competitive scene through competition, community initiatives and creator-led content rather than tournaments alone.

JanickaGaming Named Western Europe Ambassador

German content creator JanickaGaming is the ambassador for Western Europe under the new programme. She has built her following through gaming content documenting her PUBG MOBILE Esports journey, and will stream PUBG MOBILE weekly alongside her usual social output, covering PUBG MOBILE Esports topics and tournaments as they happen to push visibility into broader gaming audiences in the region.

Read More: PUBG MOBILE Esports 2026 Roadmap Confirmed With PMGO Indonesia, PMGC Turkiye And $3M Events

Read More: PUBG Mobile Launches Streamlined Tournament Platform for Organisers Worldwide

The First Activation And The Wider PUBG MOBILE Ecosystem

The first major activation under the partnership is a Western Europe event in September 2026, with registration open from the announcement date. The announcement materials name this event inconsistently, listing both a PUBG MOBILE Club Open Western Europe Wildcard and a PUBG MOBILE Global Open Western Europe Finals, and give conflicting dates of 14 September and 11–13 September, so the exact regional event title and date are not confirmed as of the time of writing.

The scale behind PUBG MOBILE Esports gives the regional push its backing. PUBG MOBILE has been the most-watched battle royale esports title for five consecutive years and recently earned the Guinness World Record for the largest mobile team-based esports event in history, with 1,224,169 players registered for the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) Season 1.

Why Both Sides Framed It As A Community Play

Both organisations framed the deal around community rather than results. G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte said PUBG MOBILE has built one of the most impressive esports ecosystems in the world, and pointed to the scale mobile esports has reached in Asia as the reason to chase the same growth in Western Europe, describing the region as a market the partnership is only beginning to tap.

Shaowei Chen, Head of Western Europe Publishing at PUBG MOBILE, called Western Europe one of the most promising growth frontiers for PUBG MOBILE esports and described G2 as a strategic partner whose track record of building fan communities through competitive success and creative campaigns aligns with the region’s development goals. Chen said the collaboration is built to establish a long-standing hub for PUBG MOBILE esports audiences across Western Europe rather than just host tournaments.

With PMCO Western Europe registration open now, the partnership’s first competitive test comes at the September event, where the amateur-to-pro pathway gets its first run under the new G2 and PUBG MOBILE Esports banner.

PUBG MOBILE Esports have confirmed the 23 National Olympic Committees competing in the 2026 Asian Games Esports Qualifiers: PUBG MOBILE Asian Games Version, with the teams seeded into two groups ahead of the tournament kicking off in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on 19 June. The qualifier marks the second Asian Games to feature PUBG MOBILE as an official title, and runs across three days from 19 to 21 June, with eight teams earning a place at the 2026 Asian Games Esports Events in Japan.

As announced on 15 June 2026, the field spans powerhouse regions and rising contenders alike, all chasing one of the eight qualifying slots that join four directly seeded teams at the 20th Asian Games.

How The Qualifiers Work

The 23 teams have been randomly seeded into two groups for the Group Stage, played in the classic Battle Royale format across 19 and 20 June. The top six teams from each group advance to the Qualifiers Finals on 21 June.

The Qualifiers Finals pit the 12 surviving teams against each other across six matches, with placements in each match determining points. The top-scoring eight teams advance to the 20th Asian Games, where they join the 19th Asian Games gold, silver and bronze medallists from China, the Republic of Korea and Chinese Taipei. Japan, as host nation, takes the twelfth and final slot.

Map Rotation For The Qualifiers

The map rotation has been confirmed for every stage. Matches one to four are played on Erangel, while the final two matches move to Miramar.

The 23 Teams By Group

The two groups break down as follows, with the top six from each advancing to the Qualifiers Finals.

What Comes Next

4thrives Esports have won the 2026 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) Season 1, becoming the first Pakistani team to claim a Champion title at a global PUBG Mobile esports tournament and taking the largest share of the $500,000 prize pool. The Grand Finals wrapped up on 7 June 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the squad finished on 122 points to lock in the championship.

The tournament also entered the record books, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest mobile team-based esports tournament in history after 1,224,169 players registered to compete from the Road to PMGO onwards.

4thrives Esports’ Road To The PMGO Championship

The 2026 PMGO S1 opened with a Group Stage of 32 teams split into two groups of 16. The top six from each group claimed the first 12 Grand Finals slots, with the remaining four decided through a Survival Stage. 4thrives Esports finished 10th in Group A during the Group Stage, leaving them to fight through the Survival Stage to stay alive.

They did exactly that, knocking out 12 teams alongside Team Flash, GOAT Team and 721 Esports to reach the main stage. The Grand Finals opened with FURIA Esports taking the first Winner Winner Chicken Dinner in match one, and the title came down to the final game, where Falak from 4thrives Esports eliminated Team Pandum to seal the 122-point finish and the championship.

ULF Esports’ Kecth was named Grand Finals MVP after a consistent run across the stage.

A Record-Breaking Player Pool

The headline figure behind the win was the turnout. A total of 1,224,169 players registered for the 2026 PMGO S1, earning PUBG Mobile Esports the Guinness World Record for the largest mobile team-based esports tournament in history. The event was held as a pro-am, putting amateur and veteran teams in the same brackets.

The viewership followed suit. The broadcast drew more than 1.07 million peak viewers, and across the 25 hours aired the average sat at around 323,000.

PMGO S1 Carnival And Watch Parties Across Indonesia

Beyond the brackets, the 2026 PMGO S1 Carnival gave attendees in Jakarta a run of activities. Pan to Pan let fans decorate a cooking pan modelled on the game’s iconic melee weapon and exchange it for rewards, including a 24K real gold pan, while Indonesian franchise TAHILALATS appeared at the venue with merch giveaways and exclusive in-game skins through a special collaboration.

Over 45 performers showcased traditional Indonesian instruments and dances, and Indonesian idol group JKT48 performed at the Grand Finals.

Away from the venue, the “Flame On” campaign ran official watch parties across eight cities, including Pekanbaru, Palembang, Pontianak, Samarinda, Makassar, Manado, Denpasar and Jayapura, with a pre-heat video and torch walk to mark the occasion.

What Comes Next For PUBG Mobile Esports

The 2026 PMGO S1 was the first PUBG Mobile Global Open to run two seasons in a single year. With it concluded, teams now turn to the 2026 PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) and the 2026 PUBG Mobile Global Open Season 2 for their next shot at a global title.

It’s a milestone moment for the mobile battle royale, arriving right as the game celebrates its 8th anniversary, and it gives a pretty clear signal about just how big its competitive scene has become.

Registrations opened back on February 5, and since then players from more than 200 countries and regions have jumped in. That scale alone puts this year’s PMGO among the largest open-entry esports tournaments currently running.

PMGO Season 1 Breaks Participation Records

The headline number here is the 1 million player mark, which PUBG MOBILE Esports is calling a record for the tournament. According to the official press release, this reflects the ongoing push behind its “Battlegrounds for Everyone” approach, essentially making competitive play accessible whether you’re a casual squad or a seasoned pro team.

What stands out is how open the format is. Unlike more closed franchised leagues, PMGO allows players from all levels to enter through qualifiers. That means grassroots teams are competing in the same ecosystem as established organisations, rather than being locked out from the start.

This year’s turnout reinforces that idea. A million sign-ups is not just a stat, it shows there is still massive appetite for open competitive formats in mobile esports.

Qualifiers Underway Across Global Regions

With registrations closed, the focus now shifts to the Road to PMGO, where national and regional qualifiers are already running and will continue through to May.

Teams are battling for points through eliminations and match placements, with only the strongest squads advancing. It is a long funnel from those initial million players down to the final lineup, which keeps the stakes high even at the early stages.

This structure also gives visibility to emerging regions. Because qualifiers are spread globally, talent from smaller or less-represented scenes still has a clear pathway to reach the main stage.

Jakarta To Host The Main Event In June

The Main Event for PMGO Season 1 is locked in for June 2 to June 7, taking place live in Jakarta, Indonesia.

That event will bring together top professional teams alongside newly-qualified amateur squads, all competing for a $500,000 USD prize pool. It is a format that mixes proven veterans with fresh talent, which tends to create unpredictable matchups and breakout performances.

For fans, it also means the storyline is not just about established names defending their status. There is always the possibility of an underdog run coming out of the qualifiers.

A Bigger Year Ahead For PUBG MOBILE Esports

PMGO Season 1 is just the starting point for the 2026 competitive calendar. PUBG MOBILE Esports has already confirmed that major events like the PUBG MOBILE World Cup and the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship will return later in the year.

Those tournaments typically bring together the very best teams globally, so PMGO acts as both an entry point and a proving ground for squads aiming to reach that level.

With participation numbers hitting new highs, the ecosystem is clearly still expanding. If anything, this season suggests PUBG MOBILE’s open competitive model is continuing to attract new players rather than plateauing.

For anyone following mobile esports, this year’s PMGO could end up being one of the more interesting ones to watch, simply because of how many new teams are entering the mix.

The PUBG MOBILE Esports 2026 roadmap has now been fully detailed, confirming new global events, host countries, qualification formats and multi-million dollar prize pools across the season. Following its initial reveal during the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship in Bangkok last December, the publisher has expanded on what players and fans can expect from the year ahead.

From two PUBG MOBILE Global Open events in Indonesia and Pakistan, to the return of the PUBG MOBILE World Cup in Riyadh and the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship in Turkiye, the circuit is shaping up to be one of the biggest in the game’s history.

PMGO Season 1 Heads To Indonesia, Season 2 To Pakistan

One of the headline confirmations in the 2026 roadmap is that PMGO Season 1’s Main Event will take place in Indonesia. Registration opens in February, with the Grand Finals scheduled for June.

Later in the year, PMGO Season 2 will open registration in June, with its Main Event staged live in Pakistan in October. Both tournaments carry a $500,000 prize pool, giving teams significant incentive to perform across the early and mid stages of the season.

This also marks the introduction of an additional PMGO season compared to previous years, expanding the competitive calendar and increasing international LAN opportunities.

Road To PMGO Format Expands Global Access

Both PMGO events will be preceded by the newly introduced Road to PMGO qualification system.

The format begins with in-game qualifiers, followed by national and regional competitions. For Season 1, in-game qualifiers run from February to March, with national and regional events held between March and May. Successful teams advance to the Main Event in June.

Season 2 mirrors that structure, with in-game qualifiers running June to July, national and regional stages from July to August, and a short break before October’s Main Event in Pakistan.

More than 200 countries are expected to participate in the in-game qualifiers. Regional competitions will span Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Turkiye, Western Europe, the Americas, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and Africa. The structure is clearly designed to widen grassroots participation while maintaining a clear pathway to global competition.

PMWC Returns To Riyadh At Esports World Cup

For the third consecutive year, PUBG MOBILE Esports will feature at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh through the PUBG MOBILE World Cup in July.

Thirty-two teams will compete for a $3,000,000 prize pool. Teams qualify based on PMGC POINTS from regional and global performances, alongside nine additional invites awarded to teams from China, Korea, Japan, India, and the winner of the 2025 PMWC.

The PMGC POINTS system remains central to qualification, rewarding consistency across PMGO regional finals, PMGO main events and PMWC results.

2026 PMGC Returns To Turkiye With 38 Teams

The season will conclude with the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship in Turkiye, marking the second time the country has hosted the tournament.

Thirty-eight teams will qualify based on PMGC POINTS, with one additional slot reserved as a special host country invite. That brings the total to 39 teams competing for another $3,000,000 prize pool.

The return of the PMGC POINTS format signals a continued focus on season-long performance rather than isolated tournament success, ensuring that the strongest teams across the entire circuit earn their place at the year-ending championship.

Leadership Change At PUBG MOBILE Esports

Alongside the competitive announcements, PUBG MOBILE Esports confirmed a major leadership transition.

Oliver Ye has been appointed as the new Senior Director of Global PUBG MOBILE Esports, stepping into the role held by James Yang for the past eight years. Yang will remain involved with the title, moving into a publishing support role.

The shift represents a new chapter for the esport, though continuity appears to be a priority, with Ye expected to build on the existing competitive framework rather than overhaul it.

With expanded global qualifiers, additional LAN events and multiple $3,000,000 prize pools confirmed, the PUBG MOBILE Esports 2026 roadmap positions the title to remain one of the most prominent mobile battle royale esports circuits worldwide. Further details, including team registrations and regional breakdowns, are expected as the season begins to roll out in the coming weeks.

Originally set to take place offline in Kathmandu from 18 to 28 September, the tournament will now be played entirely online. This decision follows the recent wave of youth-led demonstrations in Nepal, widely referred to as the Gen Z protests, which erupted over corruption, nepotism, and a now-repealed social media ban.

The situation escalated quickly after protests began on 8 September. According to Reuters, at least 51 people have lost their lives and hundreds more have been injured. The political turmoil also saw Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and several cabinet ministers step down on 9 September. Negotiations are ongoing between protest leaders, the army, and the President of Nepal to form an interim government.

In a statement, PUBG Mobile Esports said the decision was made after “careful evaluation and considering recent developments in the region,” stressing that the safety and well-being of players and staff remain the top priority. Organisers also reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a fair and competitive tournament experience, even in the online format.

Tournament schedule and stakes

Despite the shift to online play, the PMSL CSA Fall 2025 will go ahead as planned with a $200,000 prize pool and three coveted qualification spots for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025.

The Group Stage is scheduled from 18 to 24 September, where 20 teams will battle it out remotely. The top 16 teams will then advance to the Grand Finals, taking place from 26 to 28 September.

While moving online ensures the tournament can proceed safely, it raises potential challenges around ping and network stability, which could impact competitive integrity. However, organisers have assured fans and players that they will maintain the highest standards of professionalism.

The PMGC 2025 will be hosted in Thailand across November and December as part of the larger PUBG United event, where the best teams from around the globe will face off.

With high stakes on the line and a turbulent backdrop in Nepal, the PMSL CSA Fall 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most watched tournaments of the year.
