<p><em>Oblivion has arisen! The Flesh Eaters have come to terrorize the world and let chaos reign! This cannot stand. The finale to one of gaming&#8217;s most iconic trilogies is here.</em></p>
<p>From video game remaster studio and Atari subsidiary Nightdive Studios, in collaboration with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, <em>Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion</em> is a faithful restoration of the classic first-person shooter initially released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, upgraded through Nightdive Studios&#8217; proprietary KEX Engine for play on modern gaming devices with up to a 4K resolution at 120FPS.</p>
<p>It joins Nightdive Studios&#8217; popular remasters of <em>Turok</em> and <em>Turok 2: Seeds of Evil</em>, capping off the trilogy.</p>
<p><iframe title="Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Remastered - Nightdive Studios" width="1200" height="675" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UUv7BGUJ5gE" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>The title features upgraded gameplay, high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting and rendering, and support for console gamepads with platform-specific features. It is also the first game from Nightdive Studios built on the latest version of the KEX engine, which utilizes an improved renderer to achieve a higher tier of visual fidelity across 3D models, textures, and graphical effects.</p>
<p>In <em>Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion</em>, players choose between dual protagonists Joseph and Danielle Fireseed, siblings of <em>Turok 2: Seeds of Evil</em> protagonist Joshua Fireseed. Together, they must defeat the titular antagonist Oblivion and its followers, the Flesh Eaters, after the supposed demise of their brother at its hands.</p>
<p><em>Turok 3: Shadow Oblivion</em> is now available on PC and PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles.</p>

<p>A quarter of a decade ago a PC game like nothing else ever before released that set the foundation for SciFi first person shooters.</p>
<p>That game was <em>Quake</em>.</p>
<p>Where have all those years gone?!</p>
<p>I remember playing the original during computer class at school (instead of doing lessons of course). So if you&#8217;re like me and smashed the stuffing out of the original, you&#8217;ll be pleased to know it&#8217;s back, enhanced for 4K but retaining a smoothed pixel-fest gory&#8230; er glory. Well, both.</p>
<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52390" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2021-08-19-image-26.jpg?x59030" alt="Quake Enhanced" width="1680" height="945" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2021-08-19-image-26.jpg 1680w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2021-08-19-image-26-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2021-08-19-image-26-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2021-08-19-image-26-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2021-08-19-image-26-1536x864.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1680px) 100vw, 1680px" /></p>
<p>Built from the foundations of DOOM and originally published id Software and published by GT Interactive in 1996, id Software (now owned by Bethesda) are back at the helm of this new re-work to celebrate the 25 years milestone.</p>
<p>A SciFi blood fest, in <em>Quake</em> you are Ranger. A lone gunman sent into a portal to kill off the enemy only known as &#8216;Quake&#8217;.</p>
<p>Maze like environments with puzzle elements you would clear areas, finding pick ups and extra, more beefy weapons along the way.</p>
<p>Ultimately the goal for most was simply to survive each Level.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52393" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sJve5746xid575RhwJFFmP.jpg?x59030" alt="Quake Enhanced" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sJve5746xid575RhwJFFmP.jpg 1920w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sJve5746xid575RhwJFFmP-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sJve5746xid575RhwJFFmP-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sJve5746xid575RhwJFFmP-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/sJve5746xid575RhwJFFmP-1536x864.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>The original <em>Quake</em> was single player (no Broadband or Fibre back in those old timey days), but not so with the Enhanced version.</p>
<p>Now you can gun and run and clear Levels in up to 4 player online or split screen co-op.</p>
<p>Expansions to gameplay have also been added.</p>
<p>The two originals, &#8216;The Scourge of Armagon&#8217; and &#8216;Dissolution of Eternity&#8217;, but the goods dont&#8217;t stop there.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52392" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Quake-remaster.jpg?x59030" alt="Quake Enhanced" width="1920" height="1072" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Quake-remaster.jpg 1920w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Quake-remaster-300x168.jpg 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Quake-remaster-1280x715.jpg 1280w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Quake-remaster-768x429.jpg 768w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Quake-remaster-1536x858.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>Two new ones as well; &#8216;Dimension of the Past&#8217; and &#8216;Dimension of the Machine&#8217;, making this version of <em>Quake</em> not only a rework that stays as true to the original as possible but also the ultimate Quake game.</p>
<p>For original players of Quake, this is a remaster you shouldn&#8217;t pass up. It&#8217;s not one of those &#8216;remasters&#8217; where it&#8217;s had such a overhaul that it no longer reflects the original title. It&#8217;s still in its original 1996 format.</p>
<p>And if you&#8217;ve never played <em>Quake</em>, now&#8217;s a good time to start&#8230; and die, alot.</p>

<p><em>SHADOW MAN: REMASTERED</em> from Nightdive Studios releases for PC next week, returning players to the dark and foreboding land of Deadside and the role of haunted protagonist Michael LeRoi.</p>
<p>The classic title originally released for PC, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Dreamcast in 1999. However, the franchise itself began way back in 1992, with <em>Shadowman</em> #1 (from writers Jim Shooter and Steve Englehart, and artist Mike Manley) debuting under the Valiant Comics banner.</p>
<p>That’s a lot of history and lore to catch up on, so let’s get you up to speed and ready to get “dead-ed” when the game drops on April 15 and the new <em>SHADOWMAN </em>comic on April 28th, 2021.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-50409" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/shadowman.jpg?x59030" alt="Shadowman Resurrected" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/shadowman.jpg 1280w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/shadowman-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/shadowman-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/shadowman-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></p>
<p>For millennia, the Shadow Men were a line of powerful African warriors who fought the legions of darkness attempting to invade our world from the dreadful lands of Deadside.</p>
<p>In modern-day Louisiana, a down on his luck Michael LeRoi becomes the latest to carry the moniker, placing the fate of our world, Liveside, on his shoulders as he battles the enigmatic and sinister Legion and his army of demonic serial killers.</p>
<p><em>SHADOW MAN: REMASTERED</em> will release on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Game Store. Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions will release later this year.</p>

<p>Valiant Entertainment has partnered with Nightdive Studios to develop a remastered edition of the classic action-adventure video game <em>Shadow Man</em>.</p>
<p>The remastered edition will be coming to Windows PC via the Steam and GOG platforms, as well as to the PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch consoles. This partnership continues Valiant’s expansion into other mediums in addition to publishing.</p>
<p>Valiant Entertainment is home to the third-largest connected universe in comics, behind Marvel and DC, with over 2,000 characters. Since DMG Entertainment’s acquisition of Valiant in late 2018, the global media and entertainment company has proven its ambitious plans to grow its presence in Hollywood, making its first foray into theaters with “Bloodshot&#8221;, starring Vin Diesel, opening #1 worldwide this past weekend.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43603" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/1118full-shadow-man-screenshot.jpg?x59030" alt="Shadow Man" width="1118" height="832" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/1118full-shadow-man-screenshot.jpg 1118w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/1118full-shadow-man-screenshot-300x223.jpg 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/1118full-shadow-man-screenshot-1024x762.jpg 1024w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/1118full-shadow-man-screenshot-768x572.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1118px) 100vw, 1118px" /></p>
<p>“As part of our continued growth into the video game industry, we’re happy to bring Valiant fans this immensely popular Shadow Man character as the next title we release,” said Dan Mintz, Chairman and CEO of Valiant Entertainment. “Using this platform allows the Valiant fans to experience and explore the universe creatively.”</p>
<p><em>Shadow Man</em> is the brave and powerful supernatural hero who protects humanity from the sinister demons that lurk in the Deadside and spill into our world. The Shadow Man video game was originally developed by Acclaim Studios and published for the PC, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Dreamcast console in 1999. Considered a “lost classic” for years, the PC version of the game was published again in its original form by Nightdive Studios in 2014.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43606" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/shadow-man-ss2.jpg?x59030" alt="Shadow Man" width="1024" height="768" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/shadow-man-ss2.jpg 1024w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/shadow-man-ss2-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/shadow-man-ss2-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Now the title is being updated using Nightdive’s proprietary KEX engine which has been used to restore classic video games across all digital platforms including System Shock: Enhanced Edition, Turok, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Blood: Fresh Supply, and Forsaken Remastered.</p>
<p>Stephen Kick, CEO at Nightdive Studios explained: “Our goal with the remaster is to give today’s generation of gamers all the features that they expect from a modern title while preserving the qualities that made Valiant’s iconic character and the original <em>Shadow Man</em> game such memorable classics to begin with.”</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43604" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/52765-Shadow_Man_E-1491921390.jpg?x59030" alt="Shadow Man" width="1120" height="840" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/52765-Shadow_Man_E-1491921390.jpg 1120w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/52765-Shadow_Man_E-1491921390-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/52765-Shadow_Man_E-1491921390-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/52765-Shadow_Man_E-1491921390-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1120px) 100vw, 1120px" /></p>
<p><em>Shadow Man</em> will also have a brand-new comic book series this year! From master of horror Cullen Bunn (<em>Venom</em>) and bone-chilling artist Jon Davis-Hunt (<em>The Wildstorm</em>), <em>Shadow Man</em> #1 will release on May 20th, 2020.</p>
<p><em>Shadow Man</em> is slated for a fully remastered 2021 release on Windows PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.</p>

<p>Iconic game publisher Atari has selected Nightdive Studios – a dedicated team of industry veterans committed to restoring the classic PC game titles of the past and making them accessible to a new generation of gamers – to revamp the classic Atari-owned Adventure-Horror PC title <em>Blood</em>. Originally developed by Monolith Productions and released in 1997, <em>Blood </em>remains a fan-favorite and will receive enhancements to improve the action-packed, horrifying game experience.</p>
<p>The team working on the game at Nightdive Studios includes lead engine developer Samuel “Kaiser” Villarreal, whose previous work includes The Original Strife, Turok, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and, most recently, Forsaken Remastered. Additionally, developers Edward Richardson, James Haley, and producer Daniel Grayshon will be working on the project.</p>
<p>Regarding the upgrading effort, Daniel said: “<em>Blood </em>stood up extremely well over time and we are taking care to preserve all the qualities that made the game so special. It really only needs minor updates to provide a better user experience for contemporary audiences. By using some of the functions of Nightdive’s KEX engine, we’ll be able to provide compatibility with today’s video standards, with DirectX and Vulkan support.”</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-34810" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot004.png?x59030" alt="Atari Blood" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot004.png 1920w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot004-300x169.png 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot004-768x432.png 768w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot004-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot004-750x422.png 750w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>He continued: “Similarly, we’ll provide compatibility with the current audio standards. We’ll add support for modern networks, Steamworks, and GOG Galaxy to bring this original game to more players. As part of this, we will preserve the accuracy of the game behavior. While these upgrades are relatively minor, we are confident that they will provide fans with a better, current generation gameplay experience.”</p>
<p>“We are thrilled to work with the fine team at Nightdive Studios to bring the cult classic <em>Blood </em>back to gamers,” said Todd Shallbetter, COO of Atari. “<em>Blood </em>is a grisly good time, and there’s no better team out there than Nightdive to ensure that the game will find new fans.”</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-34812" src="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot022.png?x59030" alt="Atari Blood" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot022.png 1920w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot022-300x169.png 300w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot022-768x432.png 768w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot022-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.shanethegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/shot022-750x422.png 750w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>Originally released in 1997, <em>Blood </em>is a First-Person Shooter that helped redefine the genre and first introduced many elements now accepted as commonplace. In <em>Blood</em>, players jump into the boots of undead gunslinger Caleb as he seeks revenge against the dark god Chernobog. Caleb’s arsenal features a mix of standard and occult weaponry, which he uses to devastating and gore-filled, effect. In the game, players visit a terrifying world populated by hordes of bloodthirsty fiends including cultists, gargoyles, zombies, hellhounds, and an unholy host of other terrors.</p>
<p>Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.</p>
