Drax Project has taken the music world by storm.
From humble beginnings as buskers, their unique Pop RnB sound has seen them supporting the likes of Ed Sheeran and touring Europe with Camilla Cabello and Christina Aguilera. Celebrating the release of their latest single “Disrespect” feat. Charley the band is excited to take their music to even greater heights.
Co-written and produced by Grammy nominated Rogét Chahayed (Drake, Travis Scott, SZA), Imad Royal (Doja Cat, Chainsmokers, Panic At The Disco) and Drax Project, “Disrespect” features fast rising Australian pop chanteuse Charley who boasts a slew of hit singles and 6 million global streams under her rhinestone belt. Her vocals add a sultry, smoky roomed edge to the smooth tones of Drax Project’s Shaan Singh on “Disrespect”.
Like previous Drax Project hits “Woke Up Late”, “Atmosphere” and “Catching Feelings” – “Disrespect” is notable for its combination of a soothingly nonchalant melody over a disarmingly infectious rhythmic base. It’s a contrarily respectful ode to taking a chance!
“We wrote Disrespect in LA with Rogét (Chahayed), Imad (Royal) and Mary (Weitz) in a single day back in 2019. It’s been in our heads ever since, but we all felt it was dying for a feature. In meeting Charley, we instantly knew that she was it! Her jumping onboard has taken the song to another level!” explain Drax Project.
“I’m so excited to be collaborating with Drax Project as it’s been a bucket list goal of mine to record a song with them for years now! The boys are so talented and just great humans and it’s been such a fun experience to be on this song together.” adds Charley, who recently celebrated the release of her debut EP “Timebombs” a sold out national tour and support slots with Stephen Sanchez, G Flip and MAY-A.
