Blizzard Entertainment has officially unveiled the full schedule for the 2026 Blizzard Showcase, confirming a month-long series of developer-led livestreams that will spotlight World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and Diablo IV. The event also serves as a major celebration of Blizzard’s 35th anniversary, setting the stage for what the publisher calls the next chapter of its history.
For 35 years, Blizzard has been shaped by the worlds we build – and the players who bring them to life. You’ve fought through World of Warcraft, battled in Diablo, played your cards in Hearthstone, and held the line in Overwatch.

Blizzard Showcase 2026 Celebrates 35 Years
According to Blizzard Entertainment, the 2026 showcase is designed as a collection of focused presentations rather than a single broadcast. Each spotlight will feature announcements, sneak peeks, and early teases, while also honouring the studio’s legacy through “Blizzard: The Next Chapter”, an in-person exhibition displaying roughly 400 physical artefacts from across its history.
Blizzard says the event is both a look back at 35 years of games and communities, and a forward-facing preview of what players can expect heading deeper into 2026, with BlizzCon also confirmed to return later in the year.

What To Expect From The Overwatch 2 Spotlight
The Overwatch 2 segment is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated parts of the showcase. Overwatch 2 is entering a pivotal year, and Blizzard has already hinted that 2026 will bring major changes.
Last year’s Overwatch spotlight introduced features like Hero Perks, Stadium mode, new playable heroes, and competitive adjustments such as hero bans, all of which had a direct impact on both casual play and the professional scene. A similar scale of updates is widely expected this time around.
Game Director Aaron Keller has described 2026 as “bonkers” for Overwatch, suggesting that upcoming changes could be even more ambitious than the return of 6v6 and the introduction of perks. With no new hero added since Vendetta launched in November, speculation is also growing around a teaser for the game’s 46th hero.
Esports Implications And Wider Blizzard Plans
While the showcase is primarily focused on game development updates, there are clear implications for esports fans. Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft remain key competitive titles for Blizzard, and any balance changes, new systems, or structural updates revealed during the streams could influence their esports ecosystems throughout 2026.
The anniversary trailer accompanying the announcement also referenced franchises like StarCraft II and Heroes of the Storm. However, Blizzard has confirmed there will be no dedicated spotlights for those titles, and both games are also absent from the 2026 Esports World Cup lineup.
With BlizzCon confirmed to return in September 2026 after a two-year absence, the Blizzard Showcase appears to be an opening act rather than a finale, offering an early look at how Blizzard plans to evolve its biggest games in the year ahead.
