Gaijin Entertainment, creators of the popular vehicular combat MMO War Thunder, today announced a new, tactical submarine combat game in development, Silent Thunder.

In clashes between three of the major military powers of the 21st century, players will face off against each other in combat on the world’s most powerful nuclear submarines. To get a first glimpse of the unique thrill of a three-dimensional, underwater battlefield, realistic submarine physics and the destructive power of atomic weapons.

Players will be able to utilize modern nuclear submarines of the three major military powers United States, Great Britain and Russia, and each vessel is armed with a unique selection of torpedoes and missiles. Among the powerful armament of the Russian Yasen-class, for example, are the destructive 3M-14K ‘Kalibr’ anti-ship and land-attack cruise missiles, popularized due to their presence in recent conflicts. The British Vanguard-class excels in its guided anti-submarine torpedo armament, which may be limited to 4 in total, but at a weight of 2 tons each boasts unparallelled anti-submarine power. The American Virginia-class may have less potent torpedoes on offer, but more than makes up for it with nuclear warheads, each with a yield of 200 kilotons, fitted on dozens of the famous Tomahawk missiles.

Silent Thunder aims for a completely new vehicular combat experience. Well down below in the darkest depths of the world’s oceans, players will have to navigate and detect enemies using sonar and other detection devices, while trying to stay hidden from the ever watchful eyes of their enemies. The slightest noise can reveal their own location – so players need to be careful when activating their active sonar, firing a torpedo, even scraping their outer hull against a rock or iceberg can give the game away. This is a game for true naval tacticians.

The main weapon used in submarine-to-submarine combat are lethal wire-guided torpedoes, underwater predators that can be controlled by the player from launch until the very moment of impact. But as players chase enemy submarines with their torpedoes, they should not forget that launching a torpedo can reveal the own submarine’s position, making it vulnerable to being attacked. Captains will have to keep their cool and simultaneously follow their instruments to spot any potential harm coming their way. Recognizing an incoming threat is vital for survival, as it may just give enough time to dodge, hide behind a rock or an iceberg, or knock it off-course with anti-torpedo traps.

Gaijin Entertainment, developer and publisher of War Thunder, announced  Enlisted, a new squad based multiplayer shooter for PC, developed by Darkflow Software studio. Dedicated to the most important large scale World War II battles, Enlisted will be a fan driven game.

Enlisted will initially offer two massive campaigns – Battle of Moscow and the Battle of Normandy. Each campaign in the game will represent multiple phases of a battle – which during the war lasted for weeks, sometimes months, as well as specific characters and weapons suitable for the historical event recreated in a campaign. It will also offer different game modes where players will be fighting not only by themselves but also together with a platoon of soldiers in massive battles. Built using Gaijin Entertainment’s proprietary Dagor Engine, Enlisted will feature large scale battles with a 100 combatants spread over a massive and richly detailed battlefield complete with destructible landscapes.

“Enlisted is an ambitious undertaking, unlike any game we have ever created. It will be a first person shooter decided by the fans, for the fans. They will have direct input into what we create, including things like campaigns, game modes, even which platforms after PC we will support,” said Alexander Nagorny, producer, Darkflow Software.

Beginning today, players can purchase the first two campaigns (collectively or individually) as well as weapons packs and early access to the closed beta, which will launch in the second half of 2017. Exclusive collector’s weapons will cost from $6.99 to $11.99 USD, weapon+campaign pack will be from $20 to $25 USD depending on the rifle you choose. The biggest pack for $50 USD will include both campaigns, three weapons and will provide the owner with early access to the game.

Gaijin Entertainment will reinvest all proceeds from Enlisted  into developing additional maps, game modes and console versions. The plan is to start developing the African campaign once Enlisted generates $250K in sales. More campaigns and new gameplay features, both chosen by players through online voting, will go into development with each goal reached and at the $1m mark, consoles versions will go into development.

Gaijin Entertainment today announced that British tanks will be entering the fray in War Thunder towards the end of the year. Among the first armored units flying the Union Jack will be the Churchill Mk.III, Centurion Mk.III and A34 Comet.

“We think British Tanks will be a welcome addition to the growing ranks of available vehicles”, said Kirill Yudintsev, creative director of Gaijin Entertainment. “With the addition of US tanks earlier this year we have an incredible number of tanks in War Thunder, and now with British tanks joining the action we’ll increase that number to around 200 historically accurate armored ground vehicles playable in the game by the end of the year”.

Gaijin Entertainment creates War Thunder’s extensive catalogue of vehicles utilizing historical information from museums, engineers and highly detailed blueprints and technical manuals through its historian contacts. Historically, some tanks can have as many as 50 different versions of their designs in the course of their operational lifetimes, which presents the team with the monumental task of keeping vehicle designs historically accurate when they set about designing a specific version.

Each tank can go through months of development to implement from sketch to final model in War Thunder. Searching for rare modifications by Churchill took the developers about three months and will result in a few different “Churchill’s” in the game, including some of the most interesting and rare designs. Today they are showing its most popular design – the Churchill Mk. III as well as the Centurion Mk.III and the A34 Comet.

The oldest of the three tanks, the Churchill III, was one of the main British heavy tanks of WWII. Churchill tanks were amongst the first armoured vehicles to land on the beaches of Normandy in support of the Allied invasion of France on 6 June 1944 and saw heavy action in North Africa and Normandy in the late summer months.

Centurion III is a brilliant representative of the post-war British tanks. Due to the massive supply of “Centurion” tanks to other countries, this tank was used in most of the wars the mid 20th century as well. Like the “Churchill”, the “Centurion” is also distinguished by good survival rates of the crew.

The A34 Comet is a British middleweight cruiser introduced in the final stage of World War II and was to be a continuation of the medium British tanks such as the “Cromwell”, but this tank was specifically designed for the destruction of the newest German tanks. According to some experts, the “Comet”  was the best British tank of the Second World War.

The Comet’s excellent gun and a good speed allowed the tank to maximize its ability to position itself and engage the enemy quickly.

The Comet will join rank 4 British tanks and will be a match for the latest Panthers and T-44’s.

Gaijin Entertainment will be introducing British tanks into the game at the end of the year, making Great Britain the fourth Nation added to the game, which already includes Soviet, German and American vehicles.

War Thunder is a free-to-play, cross-platform, massively multiplayer military masterpiece for PC, PS4, Mac, Linux and Android with more than ten million players worldwide, that allows players to fight their way across air and ground with access to almost 600 historically accurate planes and armored vehicles from WWII and Korean War.

Gaijin Entertainment are pleased to announce that War Thunder will be the primary sponsor for the international rally “Roads Of Glory” which takes place from April, 18th until May, 2nd, 2015 and runs from Moscow to Torgau, Germany.

The organizer of the rally is DOSAAF (Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Air Force and Navy in Russia).

DOSAAF is the heir of the first voluntary organization for assistance to the Army founded in 1920 in the USSR. The mission of the society is a development of the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as military and patriotic education. In the early period of Soviet history the society played a key role in the creation of the Air Force, in terms of both development of planes and the education of pilots. Famous Soviet aces Alexander Pokryshkin and Ivan Kozhedub were members and trainees of the society.

The rally is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory Day and Elbe day.

Elbe day is celebrated on the 25th of April, 2015, it was on this very day in 1945 that units of the American First Army, and a patrol under the command of First Lieutenant Albert Kotzebue met troops of 1st Ukrainian Front near the German town of Torgau on the river Elbe. This historic meeting was the final phase of the war and symbolizes the unity of the Allied forces in Europe.

Anton Yudintsev, CEO of Gaijin Entertainment, the developer of War Thunder, comments on the initiative: “Elbe day is one of the most significant moments in history of the Allied coalition, it symbolizes the union of the East and the West, the great Victory we are all proud to share. The rally includes various festivities and meetings with veterans of World War II and local authorities in Moscow, Smolensk, Minsk, Brest, Warsaw, Torgau and other cities and towns.

On April, 23-24, 2015 in Torgau there will be a huge social event, including musical festival, photo exhibition and a ceremony at the memorial of Elbe day. Gaijin Entertainment are happy to invite War Thunder players in these cities and towns to visit the events and get a chance to take a photo with the War Thunder car, meet with the Gaijin Entertainment representatives and get a souvenir from the rally.
