Belau is one of the most promising electronica newcomers around the European music scene.

In three years, they had almost 200 live performances in 23 countries. The debut LP, “The Odyssey” won the Hungarian Grammy in best electronic music album category. After their long-awaited sophomore album, titled Colourwave, they release an energetic remix by Hillsdom for “Risk It All” featured Amahla.

“Take You to The Sea” – claims about their compositions. Belau (Peter Kedves and Krisztian Buzas) is a band who tries to provide shelter for the modern human through their music – representing the path to self-awareness through the depth of the individual – by making modern and elegant electronic beats with longing lyrics driven for the solace of the mind. Forever inspired by the fundamental elements of the nature, especially the infinite sea.

The duo had many international successes. In the last years they played almost 200 shows in 23 countries and impressed audiences at renowned festivals like Primavera, Eurosonic, Electric Castle, Sziget, SXSW – to name just a few. Belau was supported by radios like BBC Radio 1 or KEXP and mediums like Clash Music, Billboard, The Line of Best Fit, or Ones to Watch. Their first album won the Hungarian Grammy Award, Belau reached one million streams with earlier releases.

Colourwave which got many great reviews, feedbacks, keeps providing shelter for the modern human through music, where listeners can sink to themselves and their thoughts. “Risk It All” is a song of the possibility. One of our favourite track from the new album. In April of 2021 we would like to release the Deluxe version of Colourwave with some remixes, live sessions, reimagined versions, and a new song. Due to COVID 19 crisis Hungary’s No.1 musical export good, Belau had to reschedule their album release tour, which hopefully will start around 2021 Autumn.

Following on from his pop crossover tune Move last year, Sleepy Tom gets set to release the Move Remixes. The two track package sees breakbeat producer Otira and rising underground artist Dale Howard providing the remix treatment, taking the original to new, genre defying realms.

Chopping Sophia Black’s vocal and reworking them into a majestic synth break down amongst a rumbling bassline, Dale Howard’s rework transforms the pop-tinged original into a punchy dancefloor track made for the club. Meanwhile, Otira weaves in his signature and modernised 90s rave and hardcore productions with a 150 BPM. Using old school sampling techniques and Move’s melody for a pulsing bass drop, Otira takes us on a mind-bending journey with his bold genre selection.

Aiming to take Move in different directions, Sleepy Tom enlisted the perfect producers for the job, “Otira and Dale brought it to both ends of the club-spectrum and I couldn’t be happier!” With Sleepy Tom’s Move amassing 250K streams and counting as he returned with a fresh pop sound, the newly released remixes allow the producer to delve back to his dance roots that initially catapulted Sleepy Tom into the international spotlight. New tracks in French Bass / Electronic DJ’s Mancubus will take you on a dark trip through electronica.

With his EP (Mancubus) releasing on the 24th of September 2018 I received an early edition to bang my head and trance out to throughout the four tracks.

Depths of Hell is an aptly named addition where you will be entranced in to the darker depths of the underworld. Quickly following up on this one is the chilling horror-esque intro Cash.

The EP’s titled Mancubus plays out as a working factory journey through bass, which leads us in to the final track; Don’t Try  Me as the outro, being visceral mechanical explosion for our senses. This tended to be my pick of choice from the EP due to it’s chaotic collision of mechanised eletronica almost battling with the low riding bass.

Mancubus has taken his signature Electronica and Bass DJ’ing to the deep, dark and beyond.

A must stream or own for the darker, moodier electronic fans.

Mancubus will be releasing on Never Say Die Records.
