New Zealand electronic duo SACHI have shared their latest single ‘Take Me Back’, a love letter to live music, following their euphoric return to over 80,000 fans at COVID free New Zealand festivals, this Summer.

‘Take Me Back’ is a testament to the unrivalled energy exchanged through live music as the world longs for a return to the dancefloor. The new single arrives with a music video montage compiled of fan footage from across SACHI’s recent summer festival tour, creating a sentimental collage of the connection we all share through live music.

Written and produced during lockdown, ‘Take Me Back’ is an adrenaline pumping release of suppressed energy after a year of craving nightlife culture. Opening with delicate chords, the vocals reminisce on a simpler time with nostalgic soul, singing “I got the urge to clear the weight off my mind, weight off my mind / take me back to the feeling”. The chorus’ electronic breakdown snaps into thumping drums and elastic synths as SACHI’s distinctive dance floor rhythms quake and quiver with club ready urgency, reminding the rest of the world that hope for life post pandemic is still alive.

“I guess when we were making it we were thinking about pre-COVID life. Where we could go to shows and be crammed next to a whole lot of people. A time we completely took for granted,” explains the duo, continuing, “We just hope it makes people feel something. The sole purpose of electronic music is to make people feel a certain way – we hope this song does that.” say SACHI.

‘Take Me Back’ follows SACHI’s dual 2020 singles, ‘Enchante’ and ‘You (A La)’, following their 2019 Nights With Ruby EP which has amassed over 35 million Spotify streams. After storming New Zealand stages over Summer, and with more upcoming festival dates, SACHI are reassuring the rest of the world that the show will go on.
