Clash Royale’s October 2025 update has landed, and it’s one of the biggest in a while. Not only are we getting new Lucky Chests and a Champion cycle rework, but two brand-new Evolutions for Royal Ghost and Skeleton Army have been revealed, and the community can’t stop talking about them. Some reckon they look downright broken.
Royal Ghost Evolution: Haunted Reinforcements
The Royal Ghost is stepping into spooky season with an Evolution that feels tailor-made to tilt the Arena in your favour. When he materialises, he now summons two Souldiers that deal damage on spawn and protect him while he fights. It’s a mix of flair and firepower that could seriously mess with your opponent’s defence.

Plenty of fans are already nervous. One comment joked, “I can’t wait for my cards to get jumped by the Royal Ghost and his soul soldiers”, while another suggested the only way it would be more balanced is if he spawned “two invisible Evo Mega Knights instead”.
Love it or hate it, the Royal Ghost Evolution is set to shake things up when it hits the Shop on 17 October.
Skeleton Army Evolution: Led by General Gerry
The Skeleton Army is also getting a terrifying glow-up. Enter General Gerry, who takes command of the swarm. While he’s on the battlefield, his Skeletons are invisible and indestructible, making the usual Zap or Log counters almost useless. Take him out and the rest crumble with him, but as long as Gerry’s standing, your opponent is in for a nightmare.

The community is already having a laugh at this one too. One fan declared, “The one leading the skeleton army is Larry”, while another predicted, “Skeleton Army gonna break esports”. Others are less amused, with one bluntly stating, “F2P’s just can’t catch a break”.
Lucky Chests and Champion Cycle Changes
Alongside the Evolutions, Lucky Drops are gone, replaced by Lucky Chests. These come in three forms: Common, Magic, and Seasonal, with October bringing Haunted and Phantom Lucky Chests featuring cards, cosmetics, and Evolution Shards. Rewards now operate on a guaranteed system, meaning the more you open, the more you get.
Champions are also being reworked. Instead of the tricky three-card cycle, they’ll now rotate like any other card. Only your most recent Champion will have an active ability, marked with a crown icon. Mirror works with them now too, adding a fresh layer of strategy without the balance headaches of the old system.
The Community Verdict
If the comments are anything to go by, these Evolutions might be some of the wildest yet. From excitement to dread, players are bracing for a shake-up in both casual play and the competitive scene. Whether General Gerry and the Royal Ghost’s Souldiers turn out to be busted or brilliant, October’s update is making sure Clash Royale stays unpredictable.
