Winter Arrives in PUBG Mobile

PUBG Mobile is ushering in the festive season with its massive Version 4.1 update, Frosty Funland, available globally from November 6. This update transforms familiar battlegrounds into icy wonderlands filled with adorable penguins, snowy adventures, and esports-inspired arenas.

Players who update before November 12 (UTC+0) will receive 3,000 BP, 100 AG, and an exclusive Icy World Lobby theme as a reward.

At the heart of the update is Frosty Funland, a new themed mode that introduces Penguinville, a bustling winter town built by the residents of the Penguin Kingdom after their glaciers melted.

Themed areas like Penguinville and Penguin Town offer treasure-filled supply zones and interactive animal NPCs. Some, like the Apothecary Penguin, craft random elixirs, while others, such as the Ninja Penguin PowNin, can even join your squad in battle.

You’ll also find special creatures like the Magic Fox who opens portals, the Gunsmith Polar Bear offering missions for upgraded weapons, and the Cupid Penguin, who rewards you with supplies for taking photos together.

New Vehicles, Weapons and Items

The update isn’t short on new gear either. Players can ride across snow-covered terrain on the 4-player Penguin Snowmobile, fire freezing rounds from the Salted Fish Rocket Launcher, and speed across ice trails using the Magic Ice Skates.

A standout weapon this season is the Winterland Kar98K, available only in Frosty Funland. It features a frosty design, faster swap speed, and the ability to unleash an ice explosion after a charged shot.

Other new additions include the Swordfish Syringe, a throwable healing item, and the Quickshot Elixir that boosts reload and weapon swap speeds.

Classic Mode and Map Updates

Classic Mode has also received major upgrades. Weapon balancing has been refined, with rifles seeing reduced long-range power and shotguns slightly nerfed for closer fights. Sniper rifles like the SKS, SLR, and Mk14 now offer improved stability, while the new Boatyard area in Erangel adds fresh tactical opportunities.

Players can also discover Energy Berries scattered across maps to restore health and energy, and enjoy better audio effects, improved aiming, and smoother vehicle controls.

Esports-Themed Arenas Join the Fight

One of the most exciting additions is the esports-inspired arena, bringing a taste of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 right into the game.

From November 24, players can visit in-game versions of the PMGC venue on Erangel and Livik. Interacting with the “Champion Photo Spot” will grant a Champion Pack filled with rare loot, while full squads can earn the Crown of Glory, capable of healing teammates and restoring energy.

Themed visuals, cosmetics, and special interactions celebrate PUBG Mobile’s competitive scene as it heads toward the Bangkok-hosted PMGC 2025, where 40 teams will battle for a share of $3 million USD.

Expanding the World of Wonder

The creative World of Wonder (WOW) mode also gets a major overhaul with new maps and gameplay types:

  • Racing Carnival (Nov 14): Compete in a realistic vehicle racing event.
  • Snow Roguelike Adventure (Nov 21): A survival shooter and horde challenge hybrid.
  • Rocket Launcher Frenzy (Nov 28): A chaotic, explosive free-for-all mode.

WOW creators can now design custom skills, missions, PvE enemies, and more, with improved tools and a new Co-Creation Wallet that rewards popular map makers through a shared earnings model.
