Clash Royale has revealed two brand new Heroes for its February 2026 season, Hero Goblins and Hero Mega Minion, alongside the return of Touchdown as a competitive ladder mode. Two New Heroes Headline February 2026 Season
The February update introduces Hero versions of Goblins and Mega Minion, each built around very different playstyles. Supercell has positioned both as high-impact options that reward timing, positioning, and smart ability usage rather than raw stats.
How Hero Goblins Ability Works
Hero Goblins is centred entirely on positioning. When the final goblin in the group is defeated, it drops a banner at that exact spot in the arena. This banner creates a short activation window where its ability can be used once for one elixir, allowing players to spawn an additional wave of goblins directly at the banner’s location.

The banner cannot be destroyed, but it only lasts for a few seconds. If the goblins fall in a poor position or the timing is missed, the ability provides little value.

There is no second activation, making decision-making and placement the core skill test for this Hero.
Hero Mega Minion Targets Lowest Health Enemies
Hero Mega Minion offers a more aggressive and direct ability. Upon activation, it instantly targets and teleports to the enemy unit with the lowest maximum health anywhere in the arena. Players are able to see the chosen target before triggering the ability, allowing for strategic planning.

After taking down the target and the Hero Mega Minion goes to a tower, the damage is intentionally reduced for a few seconds. This design prevents the ability from being used as an instant tower takedown while still keeping its pressure potential intact.
Touchdown Returns As Competitive Ladder Mode
Touchdown is also making a comeback, but this time as a ranked ladder experience. The mode removes towers entirely, with players scoring by moving troops into the opponent’s end zone. The first player to earn three crowns wins, or the match is decided by score when time expires.
This competitive version of Touchdown uses four-card decks, with all cards capped at level 11. Players will need 15 wins to reach the leaderboard. The mode is scheduled to launch in early February, aligning with the start of the new season.

What This Update Signals For Clash Royale
The addition of two mechanically distinct Heroes, paired with a competitive Touchdown ladder, suggests Supercell is continuing to experiment with skill expression and alternative formats. With global tournaments also confirmed to return in March, the February 2026 season looks set to act as a bridge between experimental gameplay and high-level competitive play.
