After years of waiting, Life is Strange: Reunion finally brings Max Caulfield and Chloe Price back together for one last emotional chapter. Revealed during a recent livestream, Reunion is designed as the definitive conclusion to their story, closing the book on one of gaming’s most beloved relationships.

Developed by Deck Nine Games, the game serves as a direct follow-up to 2024’s Life is Strange: Double Exposure. From the very beginning, it’s clear this isn’t just another sequel, it’s a farewell shaped by years of player choices and emotional investment.

The Story So Far At Caledon University

Reunion is set once again at Caledon University, where tragedy strikes in the form of a devastating fire. Students, faculty, and Max’s friends are killed when the campus is set ablaze. Max survives only by using her rewind power, jumping back in time through a selfie and giving herself three days to uncover how the fire started and stop it from ever happening.

The consequences of Max’s reality-shifting actions in Double Exposure refuse to stay buried. Chloe Price suddenly appears at Caledon, haunted by memories of a past she never lived. Their reunion is not a simple fix, and the emotional scars both characters carry play a major role in how the story unfolds.

Max’s Rewind Power Returns

Max’s iconic rewind ability makes its full return in Reunion. Players can manipulate conversations, retry key decisions, and bend events to uncover the truth behind Caledon’s destruction. The power also evolves, with Max discovering she can remain in the past after jumping into a Polaroid, effectively starting over from the moment a photo was taken.

This new layer pushes Max into unfamiliar territory, forcing players to rethink how time can be used and abused as the mystery deepens.

Chloe Price As A Playable Co-Lead

For the first time since Before the Storm, Chloe Price is fully playable once again. Now a touring band manager for Drugstore Makeup, Chloe retains her sharp edge and quick wit. Her Backtalk mechanic returns, allowing her to dominate conversations and access information Max never could.

Because Chloe isn’t tied to the university, she can explore places and confront people Max cannot. Her relationship with Max remains central, and players will shape whether their bond is defined by friendship, romance, or unresolved tension, all based on past and present choices.

Two Perspectives, One Final Ending

Reunion allows players to switch between Max and Chloe, offering two distinct perspectives on the same events. Their different approaches to problem-solving and emotional conflict give the story added depth, reinforcing the idea that this is a shared journey rather than a solo one.

No matter the path you choose, Deck Nine has positioned Reunion as the final chapter of Max and Chloe’s saga, built to respect the weight of every decision that came before.
