Riot Games has officially revealed Blitzcrank as the latest champion coming to its upcoming fighting game, 2XKO. The fan favourite League of Legends support is stepping into the arena as a big-body grappler, and his gameplay trailer shows off exactly how he’ll brawl when the 2XKO closed beta goes live on 9 September.
Blitzcrank’s moveset looks packed with references to his League of Legends roots. His iconic Rocket Grab takes centre stage, letting him destroy projectiles and yank opponents across the screen. The ability also serves as the basis for his ultimate, where he reels in his enemy, slams them into the ground, then launches himself into the air for a massive splash.
The trailer also gives us a look at some hilarious details, like question marks floating above Blitzcrank’s head whenever he misses a grab. He even pulls off an unexpected ceiling hook, turning himself into a wrecking ball mid-air. His mana shield also makes the cut, blocking what looked like Jinx’s rocket.

Blitzcrank’s voice lines bring plenty of personality too, with gems like “trash detected” and “they are not constructed like me” standing out.
The 2XKO closed beta is nearly here
Blitzcrank is now the ninth champion confirmed for the game, joining Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Vi, and Yasuo. Riot has also confirmed that every announced stage will be available to play during the beta. While the roster will definitely expand later, no other champions or stages have been revealed just yet.

The 2XKO closed beta kicks off on PC only, starting 9 September. Riot has confirmed cross-platform progression will be available once the game eventually lands on consoles, but for now, only PC players will get in. The rollout will start with North and South America before other regions follow.
If you’ve already been part of Alpha Lab 1 or 2, you’ll be automatically invited into the closed beta. On top of that, players who get access can invite up to three friends. You can check out everything about start times, invites, regions and more in our full guide here: 2XKO Closed Beta: Start Time, Invites, Regions and What’s New.
For now, Blitzcrank’s reveal gives fans plenty to get excited about, with his over-the-top grappling style and larger-than-life animations adding even more flavour to the growing 2XKO roster.
