Gran Turismo 7 arrives on PS5 and PS4 – March 4, 2022

GT7 is both the culmination of the series which answers the expectations of GT fans throughout the years, and at the same time it is a title that marks a beginning of a difficult mission to contain the full breadth of car culture from the past into a single video game.  Even more exciting is the firm release date, coming March 4, 2022!

First look at God of War Ragnarök

The team at Santa Monica Studios has unveiled the first look at the highly anticipated sequel that picks up a few years after the events of God of War (2018).

The freezing winds of Fimbulwinter have come to Midgard, making survival for Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir in the Norse wilds even more challenging than before.

While the last game built an enormous amount of trust and understanding between father and son, there is still a great deal of complexity in their interactions – especially after the revelation of Atreus’ Giant heritage and the hidden prophecy only Kratos saw.

Together, Kratos and Atreus will have to make a choice about which path they will take. Whatever they choose will define the fate of all those living in the Nine Realms as Ragnarök approaches.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine revealed

 Veteran developer Insomniac Games has created two new exciting titles for PlayStation 5 consoles. Firstly, players will continue the journey of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in their most epic single-player adventure yet with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, coming exclusively to PlayStation 5 consoles in 2023.

Today’s game footage trailer is merely just a glimpse at what’s in store in terms of the new abilities our heroes will acquire, suits they will wear (more on that some other time), and the villains that will try to hunt them down. Speaking of villains, make sure to check out the trailer to see who’s coming to Spidey 2!

Another announcement we certainly didn’t expect was the first glimpse of Marvel’s Wolverine.

Marvel’s Wolverine is a standalone game being directed by Brian Horton (creative director) and Cameron Christian (game director), who recently led the creative efforts on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a game we’re extremely proud of at Insomniac. In the vein of our Spider-Man games, our goal here is to not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit.

During the all-virtual E3 2021, the Capcom showcase offered fans a look at what to expect from the renowned Japanese publisher’s latest lineup.

The broadcast, hosted by Rachel “Seltzer” Quirico, shared news and updates for the upcoming games Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, the recently released hits Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise, plus a look at the year ahead for esports from the Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) and Street Fighter League (SFL).

The full Capcom showcase broadcast can be streamed above, in addition to being available within the official E3 portal and app.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin Takes Flight

The new story trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin shed light on the fate of the famous Monster Rider Red, the origins of Razewing Ratha, and the player’s journey to unravel the Wings of Ruin prophecy.

Monster Riders eager to hop in the saddle to experience the opening hours of the highly anticipated RPG can enjoy a Free Trial Version offering full save data transfer when it lands on June 25 for Nintendo Switch™ and Steam at launch.

Fans interested in seeing more of the diverse and majestic monsters coming to the game could catch a glimpse of numerous fan favorites they can bond with during their travels, including Elder Dragons Kushala Daora and Teostra.

Finally, the showcase offered a look at some of the free title updates coming to the game after its release on July 9, 2021, starting with the Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise.

Mysteries Abound in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

Budding defense attorneys looking to make the journey West with rookie ace attorney Ryunosuke Naruhodo got a first look at the new features and gameplay arriving with The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

While investigating heinous crimes, Ryunosuke and his legal aid Susato Mikatoba will team up with the preeminent investigator in London: Herlock Sholmes.

During these Dances of Deduction, the duo will need to work together to untangle the ace detective’s over-enthusiastic assumptions and discern the truth. In order to stave off the peril awaiting his clients, Ryunosuke must use these facts in court to convince a jury of his client’s innocence.

Just as the scales of justice lean toward a guilty verdict, Ryunosuke can engage in a Summation Examination to tip the scales back in his favor. This seldom-used legal practice allows Ryunosuke to pick apart any inconsistencies in each juror’s logic, and pit the jury against itself to force the trial to continue.

With 10 new cases to unravel, eight mini escapades to experience, and a wealth of bonus content to explore, ace attorneys will have a full docket when The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles arrives in court on July 27, 2021.

More Challenges Await in Monster Hunter Rise

The robust post-launch support for the critically acclaimed Monster Hunter Rise continues, with the next update featuring the first Capcom collaboration title: Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Hunters who complete the free collaboration quest arriving June 18, 2021 will receive layered armor based on the wise Palico Tsukino for their buddies, while players who use save data from Monster Hunter Stories 2 can access the Rider layered armor based off the gear of Mahana Village Monster Riders on July 9 2021.

Additionally, new Event Quests arrive starting June 24, and offer a variety of rewards for intrepid hunters such as new armor, gestures, and stickers. Fashionistas will also gain access to a treasure trove of new looks, with new (paid and unpaid) DLC options for hunters and their buddies.

Finally, fans can look forward to a number of additional collaborations with other Capcom titles throughout the second half of 2021.

The Road Ahead for Resident Evil

Following the successful launch of the acclaimed Resident Evil Village last month, Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda shared news on what fans can expect next as the Resident Evil 25th anniversary celebration continues. Due to the overwhelming support and feedback for the game, the team has just begun development on additional DLC for Resident Evil Village.

Capcom Esports

Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) commentators Vicious and RobTV provided a breakdown of the upcoming competitions and an overview of the changes coming to CPT 2021, which is shaping up to be the best season yet for fans and competitors alike. These changes include updates to the rules for competitors, and details about prizing.

They also shared new updates on how Xbox Game Pass is changing the way we discover, connect, and play and how Xbox and all games from its 23 studios are coming to more screens.

Games bring people together,” said Spencer. “Games build bridges and forge bonds, generating mutual empathy among people all over the world. Joy and community – that’s why we’re here.”

“Gaming is fundamentally aligned with our mission as a company,” said Nadella. “When you talk about Xbox’s mission to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet, which I absolutely love, that is precisely aligned with Microsoft’s mission, which is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.”

“As a company, Microsoft is all-in on gaming. Gaming is the most dynamic category in the entertainment industry. Three billion consumers look to gaming for entertainment, community, creation, as well as a real sense of achievement, and our ambition is to empower each of them, wherever they play.”

Xbox Game Pass is Changing the Way We Discover, Connect, and Play

• Xbox Game Pass members play 30% more genres and play 40% more games. And more than 90% of members said they played a game that they would not have tried without Game Pass.
• On average across the Game Pass library, partners see engagement go up by more than 8x when they enter Game Pass.
• Whether it’s purchasing games inside or outside of what’s available in the library, or purchasing additional content for the games they like, members spend 50% more than non-members.
• Xbox Game Pass has become a true discovery engine, a platform for connection and community, and is driving game sales. New insights we’re sharing today include:

o   Since they started their partnership with EA Play in Game Pass Ultimate, players have been engaging with EA’s subscription service in a significant way. Compared to before the integration, EA Play has seen record usage on Microsoft platforms, driving hours played on these platforms up by more than 200%. As a result, EA’s incredible portfolio of games has reached and gained millions of new fans on the Xbox platform.

o   The new Square Enix game Outriders is in Game Pass and was also the #1 selling digital game on Xbox during its launch week and a top 10 selling digital game on Xbox in the month of April. Game Pass helped introduce millions of players to the game.

o   During launch week, MLB: The Show 21 was the biggest sports game of the past year on Xbox and the second biggest sports game of all time on Xbox. Game Pass added millions of new fans and grew Major League Baseball’s player base significantly. MLB: The Show 21 was also the #1 selling paid game on Xbox for the month of April.

Xbox and Xbox Game Pass are Coming to More Screens

• Xbox is working with global TV manufacturers to embed the Xbox experience directly into internet-connected televisions with no extra hardware required except a controller.
• Xbox is exploring new subscription offerings for Xbox Game Pass so more players around the world can experience the most immersive and fun games across devices, geographies, and financial realities.
• Xbox is working with telecommunications providers on new purchasing models like Xbox All Access, which allows consumers to buy both a console and Game Pass for a low monthly price, rather than spending money up front.
• Xbox is building its own streaming devices for cloud gaming to reach gamers on any TV or monitor without the need for a console at all.
• Cloud gaming through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will launch in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan later this year.
• In the next few weeks, cloud gaming on the browser will open to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. With Edge, Chrome, and Safari support, players will be a click away from gaming on almost any device.
• They’re in the final stages of updating their Microsoft datacentres around the world with the latest generation of hardware, the Xbox Series X. This means gamers will see faster load times, improved frame rates, and experience Xbox Series X|S optimized games.
• Later this year, Xbox will add cloud gaming directly into the Xbox app on PC and integrate it into their console experience to light up scenarios like try before you download.

An Incredible Pipeline of Games

• With more than 23 studios worldwide creating games for Xbox, their goal is to release at least one new, first party game into Game Pass every quarter. Role playing games, shooters, strategy titles, adventure games, and more are all being built by first party teams to ensure that there is a steady stream of compelling exclusive content to explore.
• The independent developer program ID@Xbox has earned developers over $2B dollars since the program’s inception, with over 2000 titles launched and many more on the way. This model is now being used for ID@Azure, allowing independent devs to build cloud-based experiences. These programs bring new voices from diverse backgrounds into the world of game development.

As Phil Spencer noted when he opened the day, the team knows that achieving its mission is not going to be easy, and it has a long way to go. But he believes that only Microsoft can bring to bear the global scale, the vast wellsprings of technical innovation, the financial resources and the deep, decades-long legacy in video games required to truly bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone.

And 2021 is shaping up to be jam-packed with similar momentum. Oculus has just celebrated how far VR has come, and all the amazing places it’s about to go, with the first ever Oculus Gaming Showcase.

Hosted by Executive Producer Ruth Bram, the Oculus Gaming Showcase included brand-new trailers, information on upcoming titles, and a look at exciting updates coming to community-favorite games and IPs.

Here’s a rundown.

Pistol Whip: Smoke & Thunder + The Concierge

Cloudhead Games is back, guns blazing, with a new five-scene, narrative-driven, action-packed campaign for Pistol Whip. Smoke & Thunder tells the tale of two sisters set in the Wild West where trains, tech, and explosions set the scene for some exciting surprises.

This update will release alongside The Concierge, which will unlock total customization for Pistol Whip players.

Whether you prefer bottomless burst pistols or dodging through levels as a no-ammo pacifist, seemingly endless combinations of weapons and modifiers for every level will allow you to truly hone your play style.

Compete in the ever-changing featured styles with multi-platform leaderboards, or dive in and build your own. The Concierge always has what you need. Look for Pistol Whip: Smoke & Thunder and The Concierge to hit the Quest and Rift Platforms this summer.

Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister Multiplayer Update

Following up on last month’s “Last Bastion” update, which brought horde mode to Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister, Pixel Toys made a few more updates…

Starting today, you and a friend can team up to play “Last Bastion” together on two brand new maps. Lone Echo II Launching This Summer Jack and Liv return in Lone Echo II, launching this summer on the Rift Platform and for those playing on the Quest Platform with Oculus Link or Air Link.

With all your favorite mechanics from Lone Echo, the sequel returns you to the rings of Saturn to explore an expansive zero-g world, use high-tech tools to overcome challenges, and uncover the mysteries of the far future.

Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge Part II

ILMxLAB is hard at work on the next installment of Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge, which expands the core adventure and will feature two more legendary Tales for fans to enjoy.

Today, they revealed one of the characters you’ll get to meet in Part II: Dok-Ondar, a visitor from the Den of Antiquities. The studio also shared a brand new piece of concept art featuring the mysterious Ithorian and his translation droid, set in Seezelslak’s Cantina. Keep an eye out for more details as we prepare for launch later this year.

Behind the Scenes of Star Wars Pinball VR

Star Wars Pinball VR launches on the Quest Platform, PSVR, and SteamVR next week, and today we shared some behind-the-scenes footage to show how the experience came to life in VR. Mark your calendars, Star Wars Pinball VR launches April 29th, 2021.

I Expect You To Die 2

Schell Games is returning with a sequel to their popular, spy-themed VR puzzler, I Expect You To Die.

I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and the Liar takes you on brand-new missions, going deep undercover to investigate Zoraxis’s next play for world domination. And it’s coming to the Quest and Rift Platforms later this year.

Carve Snowboarding

1080° Snowboarding defined a genre of extreme sports games. Now, creator Giles Goddard returns with Chuhai Labs to bring you a modern take on this Nintendo 64 classic: Carve Snowboarding.

Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife

Set in the World of Darkness, Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife is a horror and exploration game launching tomorrow on the Quest and Rift Platforms. Today, we debuted the new launch trailer from Fast Travel Games.

The Climb 2 Update

Crytek’s recent follow-up to VR classic The Climb, The Climb 2 features free solo climbing in breathtaking landscapes and with the thrill of leaderboard competition. And tomorrow, they’re launching a new Freestyle Expansion Pack.

The Freestyle Expansion Pack will be released in two parts with 12 levels total. The update will introduce six new levels to challenge you in both “casual” and “professional” modes. There won’t be any checkpoints, and completing levels without chalk will get you bonus points.

They’re also introducing rhythm-based climbing where you’ll see disappearing grips along your route, requiring you to learn the grip patterns to the beat of a background track to progress through. Don’t miss this free update when it launches.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Update

Last but not least, they shared what’s next for Skydance Interactive’s hit action-horror experience, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.
