Riot Games today revealed True Damage, their next virtual band and League of Legends skin line (in-game, optional, cosmetic outfits), following up last year’s global musical sensation K/DA.

A collective of artists with their own unique musical and fashion styles, True Damage is made up of League of Legends’ champions Qiyana, Senna, Akali, Ekko, and Yasuo and will be available for purchase as a skin line for those champions on November 10th 2019.

The collective will perform in the Opening Ceremony presented by Mastercard at 1:00PM CET prior to the League of Legends World Championship at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France.

Special versions of skins called Prestige skins have been designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, for two of the members of True Damage – Qiyana and Senna.

Qiyana’s Prestige Louis Vuitton skin will release on the same day as the True Damage skins’ release for all five champions, and Senna’s Prestige Louis Vuitton skin will be available in early 2020. Only available by playing games during the Worlds 2019 in-game event, Qiyana’s Prestige Louis Vuitton skin will be exclusively unlockable until November 25th 2019 at 7:00PM CET.

Louis Vuitton will also launch a capsule collection inspired by Qiyana and Senna’s Prestige skins, which will be revealed soon.

An all-star line up of Becky G, Keke Palmer, SOYEON of (G)I-DLE, DUCKWRTH, and Thutmose will bring True Damage to life as they represent each of the members to perform their single GIANTS at the League of Legends World Championship Finals.

“When League of Legends was released ten years ago, none of us could imagine the cultural phenomenon that it has become,” said Jessica Nam, lead producer for League of Legends. “Now it’s clear that gaming sits at the center of pop culture, and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with such great talent to showcase what League represents to the world.”

Since its launch in 2009, League of Legends has become one of the most popular PC games in the world and a leader in esports. Every year, the best League of Legends teams from 13 regional leagues compete in Worlds, which began this year in Berlin, shifted to Madrid for knockouts, and will culminate with the Nov. 10 final in Paris.

Last year’s World Championship was seen by 99.6 million unique viewers.

Red Dead Redemption 2 composer and frequent Rockstar collaborator Woody Jackson recently wowed crowds with two intimate live performances of the game’s original score at the Red Bull Music Festival in Los Angeles.

“Jackson translated his work from screen to stage in two live performances, giving game and music fans alike the opportunity to experience Red Dead Redemption 2 in a way unlike they’d heard, seen, or felt before,” said Nerdist. “Drawing from the almost 200 missions that he scored for the sequel, the guitarist and composer brought together more than 30 musicians to recalibrate and reimagine his own music in a completely new way. The composer’s broad and diverse influences flowed seamlessly through the cues that comprised the hourlong set, while projected screens enveloped the audience and echoed the game’s dusty, haunting, dangerous landscapes.”

Jackson weaved together select pieces from the score with help from experimental band Senyawa, accomplished singer Petra Hayden, saxophonist Colin Stetson and drummer Jon Theodore. All the while, the audience were treated to a unique and mesmerizing experience, featuring measured lighting and other visual effects intertwined with projected scenes from the game.

“Bursting red and purple lights filled the studio with dynamic energy and fog machines in the back provided an eerie and beautiful touch, said mxdwn. “Little details like that throughout the performance showed how much thought was put into it to give the audience a truly unique experience… The performance was filled with many twists and turns, and the journey was incredible. It was a very special show that felt very remarkable. Jackson and his stellar guests really provided a wonderful night, and it was great to be surrounded by top-notch musicians and artists bringing their best.”

“It never ceases to amaze how music can transport you right back to a place, right back to a certain moment, said Gaming Trend. “Woody’s music, and the orchestra, did precisely that. The orchestra was tight and precise, a testament not only to the high quality and professionalism of the musicians, but also the skill of the conductor. Another aspect of the musicians’ performance was how much they enjoyed themselves. They grinned at each other between songs, and bobbed their heads and tapped their feet to the music. You could tell that they were having fun.”

All of the vocal moments in Red Dead Redemption 2 are produced entirely by Grammy Award-winner Daniel Lanois, known for producing albums for Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Willie Nelson as well as collaborating with pioneering musician Brian Eno to produce several albums for U2 including the multi-platinum The Joshua Tree. In addition to Lanois’ production, the soundtrack features additional vocal performances from a range of award-winning artists including D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Nas, Rhiannon Giddens, Josh Homme, plus an additional track written, produced and performed by David Ferguson. All songs for both the score and soundtrack were created exclusively for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Activision and Toys For Bob have announced to us the return of Stewart Copeland (The Police) to the Spyro franchise.

Copeland, the series’ original composer revealed a clip of the new soundtrack main theme featured in Spyro Reignited Trilogy to fans during the Spyro: Reigniting a Legend panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

Known as “Tiger Train,” Copeland’s new game intro reprises recognisable music motifs from the first three Spyro games into a memorable, orchestral-rock journey.

And the Spyro nostalgia beat doesn’t end there! Franchise fans can go down music memory lane as the Spyro Reignited Trilogy brings a new in-game audio feature allowing players to switch between Stewart’s original and the new remastered soundtracks. Players can simply fly in to the “options menu” at any time during gameplay, unleash their preferred nostalgic or scaled up groove using the “Reignited Music / Original Music” button, and glide right back into the Spyro action.

“Creating new music for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been incredibly fun and nostalgic for me,” said Stewart Copeland, rock star (The Police), acclaimed film score writer, and composer. “Seeing how the fans loved the original series and soundtrack was a very heart-warming experience 20 years ago, and being able to revisit that fun with the new game has brought things full circle. Following the success of last year’s Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 1 playlist, Psyonix and Monstercat will launch the Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 2 playlist in the Spring Feature Update, followed by three additional playlists throughout the year. All of the playlists will be shorter, EP length releases, to provide new, diverse music all year long.

Monstercat began the year by unveiling two new brands to distinguish the different styles of music produced under their label – ‘Instinct’ and ‘Uncaged’ – and the Rocket League playlists will follow suit, alternating between both styles throughout the year. Additionally, new in-game Monstercat-themed Flags will be added alongside the launch of each playlist.
