Bringing World of Wonder to the Classroom
PUBG Mobile is heading to university, teaming up with the University of Southern California’s (USC) prestigious USC Games programme to inspire the next wave of game creators. The collaboration will integrate PUBG Mobile’s World of Wonder (WOW) platform directly into USC’s Games as a Service and Live Operations course, starting in early 2026.
This hands-on partnership will allow students to use WOW as part of their coursework, giving them the opportunity to design, test, and refine their creations inside PUBG Mobile itself. Through this process, students can receive direct feedback from real players, helping them build practical experience in game development and live operations, skills that are crucial in today’s gaming industry.
A New Way to Learn Game Development
By merging classroom learning with one of the world’s most popular mobile games, USC students will gain real-world insights into managing live games and user-generated content (UGC). The course, running from January to May 2026, will culminate with a showcase at the annual USC Games Expo.
Top-performing students will even earn interview opportunities for summer internships with PUBG Mobile, potentially opening doors to full-time careers in the global gaming industry.
PUBG Mobile’s partnership with USC Games is part of a wider initiative to nurture creative talent and foster innovation through education. To date, the mobile battle royale has collaborated with over 50 universities across the world, using World of Wonder as a teaching tool for aspiring developers.
World of Wonder: A Hub for Creativity
Launched as PUBG Mobile’s dedicated co-creation platform, World of Wonder lets players design their own maps, modes, and experiences. Since its introduction, over 4.4 million maps have been created globally, resulting in a staggering 33 billion matches played.
In September 2025, PUBG Mobile rolled out World of Wonder Version 1.0, expanding access to all players and offering a $10 million prize pool to encourage creator participation. The move underscores PUBG Mobile’s commitment to empowering its community, turning players into creators, and creators into professionals.
Through the USC collaboration, students will now be able to experience the platform’s full potential in an academic setting, combining creativity with practical design principles used in live games.
Continuing PUBG Mobile’s Push for Innovation
Beyond education, PUBG Mobile continues to strengthen its global influence through creative partnerships. The game recently collaborated with viral internet phenomenon Skibidi Toilet and has invested heavily in esports and content creation programs like the $6 million Next Star Program.
With initiatives like World of Wonder and partnerships with institutions such as USC, PUBG Mobile is proving that it’s more than just a game, it’s an evolving platform that connects entertainment, education, and opportunity.
Aspiring creators can experience the same tools used in the USC programme by downloading PUBG Mobile for free on the App Store and Google Play, and start building their own World of Wonder today.
