The Pokemon Center has launched a new Early Access programme that gives selected customers the chance to purchase high-demand items before they go on general sale. If you’ve ever been stuck in an hours-long queue for a Pokemon TCG drop only to miss out entirely, this system is built with you in mind. Here’s how the programme works and exactly how to sign up for it.

What Is Pokemon Center Early Access?

Pokemon Center Early Access is an invite-only system where selected customers receive a unique email invitation to purchase popular items, including preorders, ahead of the wider public launch. The programme was announced in April 2026 through an update to the Pokemon Center’s FAQ page.

The goal is straightforward: cut down on the chaos that surrounds major releases. Exclusive Elite Trainer Box variants and other high-demand Pokemon TCG products have historically caused queue times stretching for hours on the Pokemon Center website, with many genuine fans missing out while bot accounts secure large quantities of stock. By tying early access to individual, non-transferable invitation links with purchase restrictions, the Pokemon Center is trying to give real customers a fairer chance.

Any item on the Pokemon Center can be included in the programme, though support staff won’t share specifics about which products are featured in any given round.

Who Is Eligible For Early Access?

To be in the running, you need to be subscribed to the Pokemon Center newsletter and meet additional undisclosed criteria. The Pokemon Center has not shared what those criteria are, and simply being subscribed doesn’t guarantee selection.

The programme is currently limited to customers in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. You don’t need an existing Pokemon Center account to receive an invitation, but you will need to log in or register an account with the same email address the invitation was sent to before completing a purchase.

One critical warning: creating multiple subscriptions or using different email addresses won’t improve your odds. The Pokemon Center explicitly states this approach “does not increase the likelihood of receiving an invitation” and may result in your invitation being voided entirely.

How To Sign Up For Pokemon Center Early Access

The programme doesn’t enrol you automatically, even if you already have a Pokemon Center account. You specifically need to be opted in to marketing emails. If you already have an account and have previously subscribed to marketing emails, you should be enrolled, but it’s worth checking your settings to confirm.

For everyone else, here’s how to sign up from scratch:

  1. Visit the official Pokemon Center website and scroll to the bottom of the page.
  2. Click “Get Email Updates” and fill in your email address, country, and birthday.
  3. Make sure you tick the box to opt in to marketing emails, then hit “Sign Up.”

Once you’ve done that, it’s a waiting game. If you’re selected for early access to an upcoming item, you’ll receive an email with your unique invitation link. If you’re not selected, you won’t get any notification, but that doesn’t mean you’re ruled out for future rounds.

How To Use Your Early Access Invitation

If you receive an invitation, the email will contain an expiration date for your link, so don’t leave it sitting in your inbox for too long. Items featured in the programme are available on a while-supplies-last basis, and given these are high-demand products, stock can move fast even during the early access window.

The Pokemon Center recommends sticking to one device and one browser when opening your link, shopping, and checking out. Using multiple devices or browsers may interfere with your ability to complete the order. If you need a moment after opening the link, you can close your browser and return to it later using the same link, provided it hasn’t expired yet.

Each link is single-use, so once your purchase is complete, that invitation is done. If you’re not signed in when you open it, you’ll be prompted to log in or create an account using the email address it was sent to. Your early access offer stays valid through that process, so there’s no rush to panic if you need to set up an account on the spot.

Why This Matters For Chaos Rising

The timing of this programme is particularly interesting given Pokemon TCG: Chaos Rising is on the horizon. Preorders for most sets typically open on the Pokemon Center around 78 days before release, but with only 42 days until Chaos Rising’s launch at the time of the announcement, this set has the latest preorder window in recent memory.

It’s a strong indication that the Early Access system will be used to manage Chaos Rising preorders, giving selected customers a head start on what’s expected to be a high-demand release.
