A Historic Win in Stockholm
NTMR has officially made history, claiming the title of the first ever The Finals Grand Major champions. The team came out on top at DreamHack Stockholm, securing the biggest win to date in the game’s young esports scene and taking home the lion’s share of the 100,000 dollar prize pool.

The Grand Major 2025 marked the debut of a true world championship for The Finals, bringing together 16 top teams from around the globe. Each squad earned its place through regional closed qualifiers, setting the stage for a two day showdown split into four intense phases.

A Strong Start in Phase One
NTMR opened its campaign in Phase One, landing in a group with KINGZERO eSports, Alliance and Vanguard Gaming. The team finished within the top two and moved forward, just behind KINGZERO eSports. Under the rules of the event, these top performers advanced directly to Phase Three, skipping Phase Two entirely.

A Close Call in Phase Three
Phase Three nearly ended NTMR’s run. Drawn into a group with Fnatic, ENVY and TSM, the squad finished in the bottom half of the table and was pushed into the BO3 Elimination Zone. A loss would have meant the end of their Grand Major hopes, but NTMR rose to the moment, sweeping TSM 2–0 to claim the final spot in the Finals.

With only four teams left standing, the pressure was higher than ever.

Dominating the Finals Stage
NTMR entered the Finals alongside Fnatic, Spacestation Gaming and Team Secret. From the first round, the squad looked locked in. They won the opening two 3v3 matchups, earning an early advantage and putting them within reach of the championship. The decisive moment came in round four, where NTMR took a crucial fifth point by defeating Team Secret, sealing their victory and becoming the inaugural Grand Major champions.

Following the win, the team celebrated with a bold message to fans, tweeting: “You all will fear the nightmare of Stockholm. We are your Grand Major Champions.”

Embark Studios Confirms Grand Major 2026
Shortly after the event wrapped up, The Finals developer Embark Studios shared a heartfelt thank you to fans, players and everyone who attended DreamHack Stockholm. The studio also confirmed that the Grand Major will return in 2026, celebrating the success of this year’s competition.

With NTMR now etched into history as the first champions, next year’s contenders will have a massive benchmark to live up to.
