From Esports Stage to Fantasy World
Developed in collaboration with acclaimed Japanese Art Director Runbel and KISAI Entertainment, the same studio behind webcomic adaptations of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Beginning After the End, Red Aura brings G2’s energy and creativity into a fully imagined fantasy universe.
The story follows Asa, a determined young girl in a world of magical nomads who control the elements around them. Her dream? To become the greatest Nomad of them all. Through battles, personal struggles, and the discovery of her own power, Asa’s journey mirrors G2’s own evolution from scrappy upstart to global powerhouse.
Each story arc draws inspiration from real moments in G2’s history, reimagined through epic world-building, fast-paced action, and heartfelt themes reminiscent of classic shonen manga.
Building a World Beyond Esports
According to G2 COO Sabrina Ratih, Red Aura represents more than just a creative side project, it’s a new chapter in the organisation’s transformation into a full-fledged entertainment brand.
“For over 10 years, G2 has chased excellence and defied expectations,” Ratih said. “G2 is at the heart of digital-first entertainment, and with Red Aura, we’ve created a story that anyone can enjoy, whether they’re an esports fan or not. We see this as the next step in G2’s evolution into an entertainment powerhouse.”
Runbel shared a similar sentiment, reflecting on the emotional connection behind the project. “When I first saw this story, it reminded me of the excitement I felt reading manga as a child,” he said. “Red Aura has so much energy and passion. It’s a work that rekindles childhood dreams and shows what happens when creativity crosses borders.”
Over 40 Episodes Coming in Season One
Season one of Red Aura will feature more than 40 episodes, with weekly updates scheduled following its initial release. The series’ English launch on WEBTOON will be announced soon, expanding its reach to millions of fans worldwide.
Webcomics have quickly become one of the fastest-growing digital entertainment formats, and G2’s partnership with WEBTOON positions the team at the forefront of this creative movement. The vertical-scroll format allows for cinematic storytelling that’s easily accessible on mobile devices, a perfect fit for G2’s digitally native fanbase.
Celebrating Ten Years of G2
2025 marks G2 Esports’ 10th anniversary, and Red Aura is a fitting tribute to the team’s legacy. Over the past year, G2 has pushed beyond traditional gaming with several ambitious projects:
- January 2025: Launch of 62, a media agency designed to connect non-endemic brands with esports audiences.
- April 2025: Creation of G2 Football Club, now competing in Gerard Piqué’s Kings League Germany.
- Collaborations with global lifestyle brands such as Smiley, blending esports culture with fashion and streetwear.
With Red Aura, G2 continues to blur the line between competition and creativity, celebrating its past while boldly shaping the future of digital entertainment.
The Next Step in G2’s Universe
As G2 steps into its second decade, Red Aura signals the organisation’s ongoing mission to “push creative boundaries” and connect with new audiences across the worlds of gaming, animation, and storytelling.
By turning its history into a fantasy saga, G2 is proving that esports organisations can do more than compete, they can inspire, entertain, and create entire universes of their own.
