The hype kicked off when Fortnite’s official TikTok account commented on videos from Rei Ami, the actress who voices Zoey in KPop Demon Hunters. Her shocked reactions quickly went viral, as she shared her excitement that Zoey will soon appear in Fortnite. While Epic Games has yet to release a full announcement, the interaction made it clear that the crossover is happening.

From leaks to official confirmation
Leakers didn’t waste any time in backing this up. Prominent insider HYPEX revealed the first in-game look at Zoey’s Fortnite skin, confirming that the KPop Demon Hunters collab is locked in. The model shows Zoey in her signature style, adapted to fit Fortnite’s art direction, and has been widely shared across social media.
According to HYPEX, ShiinaBR and FNBRintel, the collaboration will centre on Huntr/X but will feature Zoey and potentially other characters too. HYPEX also teased that the collab will be “stacked”, suggesting fans can expect more than just a couple of skins, with additional cosmetics or themed content likely on the way.
Why this collab matters
KPop Demon Hunters debuted on Netflix in June and instantly became one of the year’s breakout hits. The animated film not only pulled in huge viewership numbers but also became the most-watched animated release on Netflix in 2025. With Netflix and Sony already working on a sequel, the franchise is well on its way to becoming a cultural powerhouse.
Bringing KPop Demon Hunters into Fortnite is a natural fit. Epic Games has made a habit of turning pop culture sensations into in-game events, from blockbuster movie crossovers to musical showcases like the recent Daft Punk collaboration, which featured 31 tracks from the legendary duo.
What’s next for Fortnitemares
The crossover is expected to go live as part of this year’s Fortnitemares event in October. 2025’s edition is already rumoured to be the biggest yet, with whispers of Scooby-Doo and Friday the 13th joining the line-up alongside KPop Demon Hunters.
With the Zoey skin already leaked, Fortnite fans now have the clearest confirmation yet that the crossover is imminent. Expect Epic Games to officially reveal the collab in the lead-up to Fortnitemares, but for now, the combination of teasers and leaks has already sent excitement levels sky-high.
