FaZe Clan’s Counter-Strike 2 roster just faced an unexpected challenge, and lost. The CS2 powerhouse went head-to-head with the number-one Counter Blox team, Roblox’s own version of Counter-Strike, and ended up losing both maps 16–6 and 16–3.
The crossover, which featured Karrigan, rain, frozen, broky, and Jcobb under the watchful eye of coach Neo, was released as a new video on FaZe’s official YouTube channel. What started as a light-hearted exhibition quickly became a hilarious yet humbling experience for the CS2 pros.
A Clash Between Worlds
Counter Blox might look like a simplified Roblox knock-off of Counter-Strike, but as it turns out, it plays quite differently. While FaZe approached the match with their usual discipline and tactics, the Roblox team completely dominated, showing their comfort with the platform’s quirks.
Viewers immediately noticed major gameplay differences. Roblox players pointed out that hitboxes are much larger, the peeker’s advantage is more extreme, and grenades, smokes, and spray patterns behave nothing like CS2. Some even joked that AWPing in Counter Blox is so unreliable it’s better to buy a Scout instead.
The combination of ping, physics, and movement mechanics clearly favoured the Counter Blox specialists, while the CS2 veterans had to adapt on the fly to a very unfamiliar environment.
Fans Loved Every Second
The match quickly spread across social media after being highlighted by Dexerto, drawing thousands of comments and millions of views. Fans found the concept hilarious, praising FaZe’s content team for coming up with something fresh.
YouTube’s comment section turned into a meme fest, with one viewer joking that Neo was “coaching like it’s a Major final,” while another laughed at Karrigan’s reaction to a three-minute pause: “Bro, they took a timeout, they’re scared, ‘I go bathroom!’”
Despite the loss, fans appreciated the lighthearted tone and camaraderie of the FaZe squad. Even those who criticised the differences between the two games agreed it made for great entertainment. Many also called for a rematch, this time on CS2, to see how the Roblox pros would handle the real deal.
The Verdict
FaZe might have lost the series, but they won the internet. The video showed a different side of the team: one that can laugh at itself, experiment, and engage fans beyond the competitive grind. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best esports content comes from stepping outside your comfort zone, even if it’s into Roblox.

Given the viral reaction, don’t be surprised if other esports teams try something similar. Whether it’s for laughs or bragging rights, this crossover between serious CS2 pros and Roblox’s best has set the bar for creative content in the scene.
