Call of Duty fans are gearing up for the launch of Black Ops 7, and while the Open Beta officially kicks off on 5 October, you don’t have to wait that long. Thanks to Twitch Drops, players can grab an early access beta code and start playing from 2 October without pre-ordering.

How to Claim a Black Ops 7 Early Access Code via Twitch Drops

Activision has confirmed that anyone can earn a free beta code for Black Ops 7 by tuning into the Call of Duty Next event on Twitch. The stream goes live on 30 September at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST (11am CT) and will showcase the latest updates on Black Ops 7, Warzone, and more.

Here’s how to secure your early access code:

  • Link your accounts: Log in to your Activision profile, open account settings, and connect your Twitch account.
  • Watch the COD Next stream: Sign into Twitch with your linked account and watch at least one hour of the official Call of Duty stream or an eligible “Drops enabled” watch party.
  • Collect your code: After one hour, Twitch should notify you that you’ve unlocked a Black Ops 7 early access beta code. If it doesn’t appear straight away, keep watching—rewards can take a little longer to process during big events.

To check your progress, click your profile icon on Twitch and go to “Drops & Rewards.”

When You Can Play

With an early access code, you’ll be able to join the beta from 2 October, ahead of the full Open Beta on 5 October. The beta will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Treyarch has confirmed that last-gen support is sticking around, pointing out that a big chunk of the player base is still gaming on PS4 and Xbox One.

Other Ways to Get In Early

Twitch Drops aren’t the only option. Pre-ordering Black Ops 7 guarantees early access from 2 October, while some promotions, like Xfinity’s recent rewards programme in the US, also handed out beta codes.

Still, if you want a free and simple way to jump in, watching the COD Next event on Twitch is your best bet. And even if you miss out, the Open Beta is free for everyone from 5 October.
