If you missed out on the 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro when it sold out globally, you’ve just been handed a second shot. A rare 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro bundle is now being auctioned in New Zealand, with 100 percent of proceeds going to charity.

The auction is being run by the Sony Foundation New Zealand, and it officially opened at 9:00am NZDT on Monday 2 March. Bidding starts at $1,000 and runs for two weeks, closing on Monday 16 March at 5:00pm NZDT.

Only 12,300 of these limited edition consoles were made worldwide, each individually numbered, and they completely sold out at retail. This is now the only way to get one in New Zealand.

What Makes This PS5 Pro So Rare

The 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro was released to celebrate 30 years since the original PlayStation launched back in 1995. Instead of the standard white finish, this console features a throwback grey colourway inspired by the first PlayStation console, complete with classic detailing.

Each console in this run is individually numbered, which instantly puts it into serious collector territory. With just 12,300 made globally and no restocks planned, it is already one of the most sought-after PlayStation hardware drops in years.

How To Bid On The 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro In NZ

The auction is being facilitated via the Galabid platform.

To place a bid:

  1. Head to the official auction page via the link provided by Sony Foundation New Zealand.
  2. Register or log in on the Galabid platform.
  3. Enter your bid amount, starting from the $1,000 opening bid.
  4. Confirm your details and payment method.

Bidding will close at 5:00pm NZDT on Monday 16 March. However, there is an automatic extension rule. If a bid is placed in the final 90 seconds, the timer resets. The auction only ends once there have been no further bids for a continuous 90-second period.

The highest bidder after that 90-second window will be declared the winner.

The successful bidder will receive an automatic notification from Galabid to arrange payment. Sony Foundation will then contact the winner separately to coordinate delivery. If payment is not completed within 24 hours, the bundle may be offered to the next highest bidder.

Shipping is included within New Zealand only.

It is also worth noting that a payment processing fee applies for credit card payments, set at $0.30 plus 1.75 percent of the final bid amount.

Where The Money Is Going

All funds raised from this 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro auction will directly support the Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp Program.

The program provides three days and two nights of fully supervised care for children with disability, at no cost to their families or carers. During the camp, high school and university students take on full-time caring responsibilities under supervision.

For families, it offers rare respite. For the children attending, it provides independence, connection, and a break from the isolation that many young people with disability experience.

Sony Foundation New Zealand is the charitable arm of the Sony Group operating locally, focused on improving the health and wellbeing of young New Zealanders through community-driven initiatives.

A Rare Second Chance For Collectors

For collectors who missed out during the original global sell-out, this auction is effectively a second opportunity, with the added bonus that every dollar raised supports a local cause.

With individually numbered hardware, a nostalgic grey finish, and a full limited edition bundle included, this 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro is likely to attract serious attention before the 16 March close.

If you are planning to bid, make sure you head to the official Galabid auction page via Sony Foundation New Zealand’s website and register early, rather than waiting for the final minutes when competition could spike.
