Honkai: Star Rail is officially on a collision course with Fortnite, at least based on a new teaser shared by the Epic Games Store. While details are still scarce, the imagery and wording used have left little doubt among fans about what is being hinted at.
On Friday, January 30, the Epic Games Store posted an image on X with two swords embedded in the ground, accompanied by the caption, “Who’s trailblazing their way to Fortnite?”.

For players familiar with Honkai: Star Rail, the weapons were immediately recognisable. One appears to be Blade’s cracked sword, while the other resembles Kafka’s red-bladed katana, strongly suggesting the space RPG as the collaboration partner.
Epic Games Store Teaser Sparks Fan Speculation
The teaser did not come from Fortnite’s main social accounts, which makes the reveal slightly unusual, but the response was immediate. Comment sections quickly filled with fans calling out a Fortnite x Honkai Star Rail crossover, pointing to the specific weapon designs as clear evidence.
This collaboration was not widely predicted. Many players had previously speculated that other HoYoverse titles like Genshin Impact or Zenless Zone Zero would be more likely candidates for a Fortnite crossover, given their character designs and popularity in cosmetic-driven collaborations. The appearance of Honkai: Star Rail instead caught much of the community off guard.
Blade And Kafka Likely Front And Centre
Eagle-eyed fans identified the swords as belonging to Blade and Kafka, two of Honkai: Star Rail’s most recognisable characters. Their inclusion in the teaser has led to speculation that they could be the first characters introduced if the crossover involves playable cosmetics.

At this stage, nothing has been confirmed by Epic Games or HoYoverse. The content could range from full character skins to themed items, a limited-time event, or even companion-style cosmetics inspired by Star Rail’s roster. There are currently no reliable leaks outlining the scope of the collaboration.
Fortnite Leak Sources Back The Crossover
Adding weight to the speculation, well-known Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has reportedly confirmed that the teaser does relate to a collaboration with HoYoverse’s free-to-play gacha RPG. Even so, no timeline or release window has been shared publicly.
For now, Fortnite itself has remained silent, and players are left waiting for an official announcement that explains what form the crossover will take, and when it might arrive in-game.
What This Could Mean Going Forward
If confirmed, this crossover would mark Honkai: Star Rail’s first appearance in Fortnite, and could open the door for more HoYoverse properties to follow. Fans are already imagining how characters from across HoYoverse’s catalogue might translate into Fortnite’s battle royale format.
Until Epic Games or HoYoverse break their silence, the teaser stands as a clear signal that something is coming, even if the full picture is still out of reach.
