Daft Punk have returned, not with a reunion tour, but inside Fortnite. Epic Games has launched the Daft Punk Experience, an interactive in-game music world that celebrates the legendary duo’s catalogue. This isn’t just another virtual gig either, it’s a full-on playground built around 31 tracks, complete with quests, mini-games, and exclusive rewards.

The event officially went live on 27 September at 2 PM ET (doors opened at 1:30 PM ET), with players entering through Fortnite’s Discover tab or via a glowing monolith in Battle Royale. What awaited inside was something special: a tribute to Daft Punk’s 2007 Alive tour, remix stations, laser-tag battles, dance floors, and even a LEGO-style recreation of the classic “Around the World” music video. To top it off, The Weeknd made a surprise appearance, reuniting virtually with the French duo years after their hit collabs Starboy and I Feel It Coming.

What is the Daft Punk Experience?

Epic calls it their biggest music experience yet, and it’s easy to see why. Players step into a cinematic intro wearing a cracked Daft Punk helmet before being dropped into a massive hub with six areas, each colour-coded and themed:

  • Alive 2007 Arena (Main Stage) – Relive Daft Punk’s iconic live set. Watch the show, emote on stage, and soak up the energy.
  • Dream Chamber Studios (Blue Room) – Mix your own Daft Punk remixes by looping tracks in a serene studio setting.
  • Daft Club (Red Room) – Jump into the spotlight and dance it out with friends.
  • Robot Rock Arena (Green Room) – Blast waves of robots in rhythm-based laser-tag combat.
  • Around the World LEGO Room (Purple Room) – Transform into a LEGO minifig and build props, teleport dancers, and emote under a digital scanner to recreate the “Around the World” vibe.

Each room brings something different, whether you’re battling bots, remixing tracks, or just dancing with mates, the whole experience feels like a love letter to the duo’s legacy.

How to Complete the Daft Punk Quests

Alongside the spectacle, Epic added special quests tied to the event, and completing them earns you XP and free cosmetics.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Attend The Daft Punk Experience Premiere (1) – Simply play through the intro. Reward: 5,000 XP
  • Complete a quest in all 5 rooms (5) – Finish one activity in each themed area. Reward: 10,000 XP + cosmetics

Mini-quests in each room are straightforward. For example, emote on stage in the Alive 2007 Arena, remix a track in Dream Chamber, dance at the Daft Club, score 1,000 points in Robot Rock Arena, and finish the three LEGO challenges in Around the World (teleport a minifig, place a prop, and dance in front of the bio-scanner).

The Rewards: Free Sprays, Shoes, and More

Complete both quests and you’ll unlock two exclusive sprays, the Daft Punk Icon Spray and the Daft Punk Was Here Spray. But that’s not all. Players who logged in during the event’s first hour also received the Waveform Walkers kicks, free Daft Punk-themed shoes with a slick reactive effect.

On top of that, Fortnite’s item shop has rolled out premium bundles, letting fans dress their avatars in Daft Punk’s iconic helmets and suits, jam with instruments, and even bust out a new Get Lucky emote.

Why This Event Matters

Fortnite has hosted huge concerts before, from Travis Scott to Ariana Grande, but Daft Punk’s Experience feels different. It’s not just a performance, it’s an interactive world where fans can play, create, and celebrate the duo’s music together. And while Daft Punk may have split back in 2021, their music is alive and kicking in Fortnite.

The event runs until 1 November 2025, so there’s plenty of time to jump in, complete the quests, and claim those rewards. Whether you’re a long-time fan of the duo or just here for the freebies, this is one Fortnite event you won’t want to miss.
