BLAST has confirmed that its upcoming BLAST Slam Dota IV tournament will see a change in dates, with the Group Stage now set for October 14 to 19. Originally scheduled for late October, the shift was made to avoid overlapping with FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 and to give teams the chance to compete in both events without compromise.

The update was announced on 11 September, with BLAST explaining that the decision came after consulting players, partners and fellow organisers. To make the new schedule work, the Group Stage has also moved online, while the Playoffs will remain a live event at the Singapore Indoor Arena from 7 to 9 November.

“We’ve been working closely with FISSURE to find a solution that allows teams to attend both tournaments,” BLAST said in a statement. “By moving the Group Stage forward and online, we’re ensuring players can give their best while fans still get to enjoy the action.”

The calendar adjustment is part of a broader effort to improve coordination across the Dota 2 competitive scene, where clashes between tournaments have often forced teams to make tough scheduling choices.

What to Expect from BLAST Slam IV

The fourth edition of BLAST’s Dota 2 series will feature 12 teams, including top-tier organisations like Team Liquid, Team Spirit and Tundra Esports, competing for a share of the $1 million prize pool.

The tournament format begins with a best-of-one round robin Group Stage. The top two teams will move directly to the semi-finals, while teams placing third to eighth will head into the Play-In stage. The ninth to 12th place squads will fight through the Last Chance Playoff, with only one making it out alive.

From there, the Playoffs will feature a single-elimination bracket, with best-of-three matches leading up to the grand final, which will be decided in a best-of-five showdown.

With BLAST Slam IV marking the organiser’s first-ever LAN in Singapore, fans can expect a high-energy atmosphere when the tournament reaches its offline stage in November.
