Sega Gamescom 2026: Persona 4 Revival, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, Stranger Than Heaven Playable
Sega has locked in a five-station playable booth for Gamescom 2026, confirming that Persona 4 Revival, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, Stranger Than Heaven, Alien: Isolation 2 and Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will all be hands-on for the public. The booth lands in Hall 7 of Cologne’s Koelnmesse from August 26 to 30, with each title getting its own themed zone rather than sharing a generic demo pod.
The confirmation, first detailed via Sega’s own press materials and picked up by outlets including GoNintendo and Nintendo Life, describes an immersive booth featuring hands-on opportunities, photo opportunities, on-stand challenges and merch giveaways. Attendees who complete all five zones aren’t leaving empty-handed either — booth attendees will receive a physical SEGA passport to collect stamps from each of the five themed game worlds, with those who collect all five receiving a limited edition collectible SEGA token.
Persona 4 Revival Rebuilds the Junes Shopping Centre
The Atlus remake gets arguably the most nostalgia-driven setup of the show. Persona fans will recognise the Junes shopping centre where Western fans will get their chance to play the remake of the RPG classic and submit their messages to the live on-stand TV Stack. It’s the first time Western attendees can get hands-on with the remake, and it lands ahead of the game’s confirmed retail window.
Persona 4 Revival is slated to launch on February 18, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Microsoft Store and Steam, and Final Weapon reports it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. A collector’s edition is also already up for pre-order, with Final Weapon noting pre-orders for the Persona 4 Revival Collector’s Edition (console only) are available now at participating retailers.
Stranger Than Heaven Gets Its First Public Hands-On in a Jazz Club
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s next project is stepping out for its debut public demo. For the first public hands-on, players will step back in time to an underground jazz club to get their hands on Stranger Than Heaven, with a stage-based photo opportunity turning them into part of the show. The period setting, distinct from RGG’s usual modern Yakuza-style backdrops, has already drawn attention from fans of the studio’s other franchises.
Sega is also sending the game’s creative leads to Cologne. According to SEGAbits, RGG Studio’s Hiroyuki Sakamoto (Producer, Stranger Than Heaven) and Mikinobu Abe (Director, Stranger Than Heaven) will also be making appearances for special fan signing sessions. Final Weapon separately reports the title is currently pencilled in for a January 15, 2027 release, ahead of most of the rest of Sega’s Gamescom slate.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour Opens Up a Brand-New Map
Sega’s arcade racer revival is bringing fresh content rather than a rerun of previous showcases. Capturing the chaotic energy of previous games in the franchise, players will be among the first to race through a brand-new map — one of five cities featured in the final game — in this all-new globetrotting Crazy Taxi adventure. For fans wanting a keepsake, attendees will also get the chance to pose with the iconic taxi from the games, the Yellow Jack.
GamesHub additionally notes that both Crazy Taxi: World Tour and Alien: Isolation 2 are among the titles confirmed for a future Nintendo Switch 2 release, giving hybrid-console owners a reason to keep an eye on the demo feedback coming out of Cologne.
Alien: Isolation 2 Makes Its European Debut, Total War: Warhammer 40,000 Joins the Marines
The horror sequel finally gets hands on the ground in Europe. GamesHub confirms Alien: Isolation 2 will make its European public hands-on debut during the event, with visitors able to play the game’s prologue inside a booth designed to capture its claustrophobic, lo-fi science-fiction atmosphere. The original Alien: Isolation, released in 2014, remains a fan favourite in the survival-horror space, which explains the anticipation around its sequel’s first public showing.
Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is making its own hands-on debut alongside it. Making its hands-on debut, players will take command of the Emperor’s finest, the Space Marines across three gameplay scenarios, all set within a booth inspired by the war-torn setting, giving Creative Assembly’s strategy series its first taste of the Warhammer 40K universe on the show floor.
Free-Play Zone Adds Metaphor: ReFantazio on Switch 2 and Sonic Racing Updates
Beyond the five featured stations, Sega is running an open free-play area. My Nintendo News reports it will include Metaphor: ReFantazio playable on Nintendo Switch 2, ahead of its previously announced November 12, 2026 launch on the platform, alongside the cataclysmic Lords of the End Times DLC for Total War: Warhammer III and the latest updates for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including the recently released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack. Co-op title Sonic Pico Park rounds out the casual side of the floor.
Gamescom 2026 runs from August 25 (Opening Night Live) through August 30 in Cologne, Germany. For Kiwi and Australian fans unable to make the trip, Sega has signalled it will push demo footage and booth highlights across its social channels throughout the show, meaning the biggest reveals on Persona 4 Revival and Stranger Than Heaven should surface online well before either game lands on regional storefronts.
