Fortnite Vini Jr Sprite: How to Find the Mythic Slide-Kick Companion
Epic Games has slipped a new Mythic collectible into Fortnite’s Sprite hunt, and it’s shaped like a football legend’s signature move. The Vini Jr Sprite arrived with the v41.20 update on July 16, giving Chapter 7 Season 3 players a slide-kick companion themed around Real Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Júnior — but only the lucky (or persistent) will actually get their hands on one.
The Sprite landed alongside Batman and Pollo companions as part of Fortnite’s “Hot Bat Summer” content drop, with dataminers flagging it among a wider batch of new collectibles hidden in the patch files. Of the twelve leaked Sprites uncovered in that update, only the Vini Jr., Pollo, and Batman Sprites appear to be currently obtainable in Fortnite, while the rest are believed to be staged for future events.
A Mythic Slide-Kick Built From a Football Superstar
Vini Jr has joined professional Fortnite player Pollo and Batman as the latest to become a Sprite in the game, following his recent Icon Series collaboration that added him to Fortnite as a playable skin. Fittingly, the companion’s power set channels the winger’s on-pitch identity rather than anything supernatural.
According to Fortnite.GG’s tracked stats, the Sprite’s core abilities are straightforward: sprinting for a short time makes your slide destructive, and slidekicking enemies increases rate of fire and reload speed. Those bonuses aren’t static, either — the Sprite’s power increases at each level-up, climbing from 40 damage and a 10% fire-rate boost at its base up to 60 damage and a 50% fire-rate boost once fully levelled.
Unlike some Sprites that come in Galaxy or Holofoil variants, the Vini Jr Sprite is a standalone Mythic Sprite that is amongst the rarest to locate in the current pool, putting it in similarly scarce company to the Zero Point and Burnt Peanut Sprites from earlier in the season.
Sprite Chests Are the Only Way In — No Shortcuts
Players hoping for an easy elimination-based unlock, similar to Batman’s NPC method, are out of luck. Whereas the Batman Sprite is available to those who eliminate a new non-player character, that is not the case for Vini Jr — players must instead visit an area with ample Sprite Chests and open them until the Sprite emerges.
Beebom’s guide confirms the same restriction, noting players can find the Vini Jr Sprite in Fortnite by searching for it in Rare Chests and Sprite Chests on the Chapter 7 Season 3 map. Vice’s Waypoint desk adds that players who jump into the v41.20 update can find the new collectibles in Sprite Chests at random spawn locations, and that the Seven and Air Sprites also went live in the same July 16 update as part of the Hot Bat Summer event.
In practice, that means routing toward known Sprite Chest clusters each match rather than hoping a stray floor loot chest delivers. For Oceania-based squads dropping onto OCE servers, the hunt plays out identically to every other region — it’s a matter of chest luck rather than local server variance.
Extract It or Lose It Before the Match Ends
Finding the Sprite mid-match is only step one. Once a player finds the Vini Jr Sprite, they need to extract it to add it to their permanent collection, meaning a single good drop doesn’t guarantee you’ll keep the companion for future games. Carrying it to safety requires reaching one of the map’s dedicated extraction points.
The requirement adds real tension to the grind, since dying or getting looted before reaching an extraction site wipes out the progress entirely — a familiar risk-reward loop for anyone who’s chased Fortnite’s collectible systems before.
Riding the Coattails of Vini Jr’s Earlier Icon Series Debut
The Sprite isn’t Vini Jr’s first appearance in Fortnite. Epic launched a full Icon Series bundle around the footballer in June, timed to the FIFA World Cup buildup. That collaboration featured eight confirmed cosmetics: two skins, two Back Blings, two Pickaxes, an Emote, and a Spray, all landing in the Item Shop that month.
The timing wasn’t coincidental — Epic pushed the bundle ahead of Brazil’s opening World Cup 2026 match against Morocco, giving the Sprite’s July follow-up the feel of a victory lap for one of the tournament’s most recognisable faces. For football-mad Fortnite players across New Zealand and Australia who picked up the original skin during the World Cup hype, the new Mythic companion offers a reason to keep chasing Sprite Chests well after the group stages have wrapped.
