FUJIFILM NZ today announces its latest addition to the X Series family to bring photography back out of the smartphone.

The FUJIFILM X-T100 is a sleek, retro-style, compact mirrorless digital camera that packs a punch and is the perfect companion for those beginning their photographic journey.

Entering the range as a little brother to pro-level X Series cameras, the FUJIFILM X-T100 will be available in stylish Dark Silver or Black in New Zealand.

“Our new X-T100 caters for entry-level photographers looking for their first real camera at high-school, University or picking up the passion again down the track. It’s a step above your average smartphone camera and is small and lightweight,” says FUJIFILM’s NZ X Series specialist Craig Robertson.

In keeping with X Series’ dedication to downsizing hefty camera gear without compromising on image quality, the small but mighty X-T100 weighs in at only 448g*1 with a durable anodized aluminium coating and extended battery life (up to 430 frames).

Boasting outstanding image quality, the powerful 24.2-megapixel sensor is 14 times bigger than those in conventional smartphones.

“Like your smartphone, this mighty little camera fits in your coat pocket, but the image quality of its stills and 4K movie recording is streets apart,” says Craig.

“And with updated high-speed Bluetooth capabilities, automatic image transfer is quick and simple with paired devices. It’s about maximising what digital cameras were made for and having your smart device as the connectivity hub it was designed to be.”

For those taking their first steps into the photography world, the X-T100’s advanced automatic scene recognition and newly developed autofocus algorithm offers faster and more precise focusing – meaning fledgling FUJIFILM-shooters can capture the perfect shot from day one.

FUJIFILM’s signature colour reproduction technology, refined over the last 80 years, gives X Series photographs an unparalleled vibrancy and ‘pop’. The X-T100 also offers 11 variations of the iconic Film Simulation Modes and 17 variations of Advanced Filters, making adding artistic expression a joy.

A high magnification electronic view finder and new three-way tilting touch screen is ideal for those who love a good selfie, as well as giving more versatility when shooting in cramped spaces.

The X-T100 will land in NZ photographic specialty stores from June the 18th, 2018 and has an indicative kit price of $1,299 NZD (includes camera body and XC 15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens).
