What is your deepest wish?

Is it endless money, a one true love… or having the ultimate power?

Wonder Woman 1984 (WW84) takes us back to the days where one track suits and fanny bags were to cool for school. Where neon shone and the hair was larger than life.

Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) has managed to adapt and change to the times and holding down a career as a anthropologist at the Smithsonian Institute.

Partnered with co-worker, an out of luck and out love Barbara Ann Minerva (Kristen Wiig) a series of artifacts come in to the Museum, one being a bit more special than the others.

On face value it is a specimen of silica encased in an ancient holder with mysterious writing on it.

Diana vaguely remembers this rock, but can’t quite place it.

On the other side of town is Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal). A failing businessman who has fallen on difficult times, owing investors for his failed oil predictions.

Maxwell is also a benefactor to the Smithsonian Institute, specifically the department of anthropology – but his generosity is not without intentions.

He knows what the rough cut of silica actually is and it is his plan to get his hands on it and turn his unfortunate in to fortunate – and then some.

WW84 has everything for the fans – including Wonder Woman’s invisible plane.

It’s also in this film that we see the human side of Diana as she momentarily forgets the lessons that she learned as a young Amazonian and wishes for one thing, for herself…

But the thing with wishes is that they are not without compromises and the morale of WW64 is be careful for what you wish for.

While the film does drag out abit, especially at the end, and WW84 hasn’t quite retained the wow factor that the first Wonder Woman (2017) enthralled us with.

It can’t be disputed that Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman, and that WW84 has catered to the die hard fans of the DC heroine.
