South America’s HEROIC are off to a flying start in the new Dota 2 season, taking down MOUZ 3–1 in the grand final of FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 to secure their first title of 2025, and their second-ever tournament win since joining the scene last year.

The post-TI 2025 tournament marked the first major competition of the 2025/2026 season, and HEROIC made the most of it. The squad walked away with US$125,000 and some serious momentum heading into a busy calendar ahead.

Despite being a Tier 2 event, FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 attracted some big names including Team Liquid, Aurora Gaming, and Nigma Galaxy, all debuting updated rosters for the new season. HEROIC themselves entered with a few surprises, Adrian “Wisper” Cespedes Dobles moved into the midlane, while Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn returned to take up the offlane. The decision raised a few eyebrows at first, given Wisper’s reputation as one of the world’s best offlaners, but the results speak for themselves.

The team stormed through the upper bracket with convincing wins over 1win (2–0), Aurora Gaming (2–0), and Team Liquid (2–1) before defeating MOUZ (3–1) in the grand final. Their victory over Liquid, who recently added Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard and Erik “tOfu” Engel, was particularly impressive, showing that HEROIC’s new look is already paying off.

This win sets the tone for HEROIC’s third Dota 2 season. Since entering the scene in 2024, the team has become South America’s brightest hope, achieving Top 8 finishes at ESL One Birmingham and DreamLeague Season 23, followed by their breakthrough win at PGL Wallachia Season 2 earlier this year.

Their progress hasn’t been without turbulence. The departure of carry David Nicho “Parker” Flores last season left a gap, but the addition of Yuma “Yuma” Langlet from Nouns Esports and Nigma Galaxy has helped restore stability. At The International 2025, HEROIC made headlines with a Top 6 finish, nearly edging out BetBoom Team in a nail-biting series that could’ve secured them a Top 4 spot.

Now, with another trophy in hand, HEROIC are proving they’re more than just a one-hit wonder. Their focus turns next to BLAST Slam IV, kicking off 14 October, where they’ll face the world’s best teams. The event will culminate in a live final at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from 7–9 November, setting the stage for another thrilling showdown in Dota 2’s growing 2025/2026 season.
