Xbox took centre stage at Tokyo Game Show 2025 with a packed showcase filled with major reveals, fan-favourite franchises, and a few surprises that had the audience buzzing. From the long-requested reveal of Forza Horizon 6 in Japan to high-level Ninja Gaiden 4 gameplay, plus Bruce Lee making his way into Hitman: World of Assassination, there was no shortage of big moments.

Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know from Xbox’s showcase.

Forza Horizon 6 Races to Japan in 2026

The headline reveal was Forza Horizon 6, confirmed to be set in Japan and arriving in 2026. Fans were treated to a stunning look at Mount Fuji and hints of both Tokyo’s neon-lit streets and the peaceful countryside.

Playground Games promised to capture the heart of Japanese car culture, from drifting to customisation, alongside the return of seasonal changes including snowy winters, humid summers, and cherry blossom season. The team even teased Tokyo’s elevated highways, inspired by design work on Forza Horizon 5’s Hot Wheels DLC.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Brings Japan-Themed Maps

Black Ops 7, launching 14 November, unveiled two Japanese maps. Toshin is a futuristic Tokyo battleground complete with a karaoke bar and cat café, while Den offers a more traditional setting around a repurposed castle in rural Japan. Players can jump into the Early Access beta on 2 October before the open beta begins on 5 October.

007: First Light Introduces Gemma Chan as Dr. Selina Tan

Eternals star Gemma Chan joins 007: First Light as Dr. Selina Tan, MI6’s Head of Tactical Simulation. Xbox’s stream showed new gameplay snippets while also introducing this fresh character, who blends psychology, strategy, and high-tech training for Britain’s finest spies.

Ninja Gaiden 4 Shows Master Ninja Mode

Ahead of its 21 October launch, Ninja Gaiden 4 revealed gameplay for its brutal Master Ninja mode, unlocked after completing the story. Players can expect smarter AI, tougher enemies, and even Death Wish mode, which resets progression for an even harsher challenge. A new training mode was also shown, giving players a safe place to sharpen their skills.

Bruce Lee Joins Hitman: World of Assassination

In one of the showcase’s most unexpected reveals, Bruce Lee is teaming up with Agent 47 in a special Elusive Mission. The legendary martial artist appears as Agent Lee, infiltrating a martial arts tournament in Bangkok. Players must protect him while identifying and eliminating threats. The mission, titled The Infiltrator, is available now until 20 November.

More Highlights From Xbox at TGS 2025

NetEase Games and developer Naked Rain have turned up the volume on open-world chaos with Ananta, formerly Project Mugen, and its latest gameplay trailer is a dizzying spectacle of action, humour, and anime flair. If you thought GTA, Spider-Man, or Yakuza could stand alone, prepare for a world that throws them all into a blender.

Set in Nova City, Ananta lets you control four distinct characters, each with unique roles: a hacker, a courier, a police officer, and a streamer. From swinging between skyscrapers like Spider-Man to spying on NPC phones in Watch_Dogs fashion, the game offers a surreal variety of activities. You can deliver packages, investigate crimes, join street brawls, or even engage in absurd minigames like beach antics, basketball, skydiving, and a Power Slap-like showdown.

Combat draws clear inspiration from Sleeping Dogs, featuring freeflow-style dodges, counters, leg sweeps, and environmental takedowns. And if guns aren’t your style, a golf club, sledgehammer, or tennis racket will do just fine. Vehicles abound too, letting you tear through the city streets on motorbikes or sports cars, and character swapping—à la GTA 5—adds an extra layer of chaotic strategy, even in the middle of a gunfight.

The trailer, nearly eight minutes of relentless pop music, city mayhem, and over-the-top anime moments, reveals a parody-laden world reminiscent of Saints Row, yet uniquely anime. Expect skyscrapers, giant mechas, robotic toilets, and fictitious shops so detailed you might believe you could actually step inside.

While Ananta doesn’t have a release date yet, pre-registration is open. It’s in development for PS5, PC, iOS, and Android, and will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Whether it becomes the anime GTA fans have been dreaming of, or just the most absurd mashup in recent memory, it’s certainly impossible to ignore.
