Gamemusic Records label is pleased to announce that pre-orders for the Baldur’s Gate 3 vinyl albums are now, in both Standard and Deluxe editions.

Gamemusic Records team joined forces Larian Studios and the composer of the score, Borislav Slavov, to deliver this outstanding musical experience to you in a way that does justice to both the game and the soundtrack itself: all remastered for vinyl and full of new original artwork.

The Standard Edition includes three 12-inch vinyl discs (3x 180-gram LP) packed in a gatefold jacket with antistatic sleeves. Each side of the cover is decorated with meticulously designed artwork by Magdalena Katańska – a trusted, long-time associate of the label. The inside presents a stunning panoramic painting. Ripe with references to the world and characters from the game, it is a delight for fans of the game and its music alike. Discs are made in mix of black and purple, invoking the association to Mind Flayers – dreaded enemies from the Forgotten Realms universe.

The limited Deluxe Edition, available only during the pre-order campaign, changes the inner sleeves to six original paintings of Origin Characters, paying homage to beloved heroes from the game. Based on the idea of duality, each disc in this edition also presents a different mix of colours, all coherently representing the pairings, relations, and depth of those characters. Deluxe Edition is presented as a magnetic closure box set, resembling an ancient grimoire. A booklet featuring the piano score of one of the game’s famous tracks, as well as extended liner notes, is also included.

The Standard Edition will remain available for sale, with the limited Deluxe Edition being available exclusively during the pre-order period. The worldwide shipping of both versions is estimated to begin in the Summer of 2024. Previous releases from Gamemusic Records (such as Heroes of Might & Magic III OST or Frostpunk Complete OST) were praised among game fans and audiophiles alike, all selling out quickly and becoming a prized collector’s item – also thanks to careful mastering of the audio material by the label’s seasoned sound engineer, Matthias Adloff, who worked also on this album.

Warner Bros. Pictures, WaterTower Music and gamma. announce their partnership in curating the soundtrack album for the upcoming, newly reimagined motion picture release of The Color Purple.

A star-studded musical journey, THE COLOR PURPLE (MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY) features songs from director Blitz Bazawule’s bold new film, in addition to original material inspired by the rich tapestry of the film’s narratives.

The Color Purple’s preeminent onscreen ensemble delivers stunning performances, creating an emotional journey through Fantasia Barrino’s soulful melodies, Taraji P. Henson’s emotive depth, Colman Domingo’s captivating energy, Danielle Brooks’ powerful resonance, H.E.R’s contemporary artistry, and Halle Bailey’s radiant vocals. New songs from the film combined with source material from Grammy Award-winning songwriters of The Color Purple musical, Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray, promises an auditory experience that’s both fresh and deeply nostalgic.

New material on this collection, stirred by the story’s rich emotional journey, is exquisitely performed by vocal powerhouses Alicia Keys, Mary J. The first offering from this musical bounty is its first single, Lifeline, written, co-produced and performed by Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum superstar Alicia Keys. Keys’ production partners include Tricky Stewart (Beyoncé and Rihanna); Marshmello (Selena Gomez, Juice Wrld) and TMS (Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi). Lifeline, released today, is Alicia’s heartfelt ode to the unequivocal comfort emanating from friends, family and community that holds us up as we face life’s challenging moments.

The creative engine for the project includes the film’s executive music producers, Grammy-winning film composer Nick Baxter, Tony-nominated composer and lyricist Stephen Bray, and multimedia artist Blitz Bazawule, who in addition to directing The Color Purple, was co-director on Beyonce’s Black is King.

Additionally, the album is executive produced by music legend Quincy Jones and Scott Sanders, both of whom produce the new film and collaborated to create the Tony-winning Broadway musical, and gamma. Co-founder & CEO Larry Jackson.

Spooky season is upon us and that means being immersed in scares, scarfing down oodles of candy and listening to your favorite sinister soundtracks.

With a Halloween sale set for October 24th to November 1st the Materia Store is showcasing some of its scariest video game music albums. From Resident Evil to The Last of Us, there’s something for every type of horror lover who needs a chilling soundtrack to get them through to Halloween.

Released in 1996, the original Resident Evil defined the survival horror genre. Countless horror games that followed took inspiration from Resident Evil’s clever puzzles, terrifying monsters and eerie atmosphere. This Resident Evil Original Soundtrack from the Capcom Sound Team Masami Ueda, Makoto Tomozawa and Akira Kaida is pressed on an audiophile heavyweight, deluxe double-vinyl 180g LPs, in standard black and housed in striking gatefold sleeves. The tracks featured on the album are intense, brooding and encapsulate the unnerving soundtrack players fell in love with all those years ago.

The Resident Evil series started a hugely successful reboot series back in 2019 with the release of the Resident Evil 2 remake. As players entered into the new Raccoon City Police Department they were greeted by horrific zombies, beautiful yet sinister looking rooms, brand new character designs and more to create an award-winning gaming experience. The 46 tracks in the Resident Evil 2 2019 Original Soundtrack, specially mastered for vinyl by Joe Caithness, shifts between dark, ambient, electronic music, thumping cinematic percussion and orchestral and choral passages. Among one of the Sega Dreamcast’s most memorable titles, The House of the Dead 2 is a light gun shooter arcade game where players must fight their way through seemingly endless hordes of undead zombies. The original House of the Dead hit arcades in 1996 with the sequel following in 1998 and it soon received its own ports to the Sega Dreamcast (1999) and PC (2001). This House of the Dead 2 Original Soundtrack features pulsing drums, ear-splitting guitar and a variety of haunting melodies. The album has a special 2XLP press with all-new artwork and newly mastered sound.

Released in 2019, Days Gone is an open-world action adventure game set in post-apocalyptic Oregon two years after the start of a pandemic that has turned humans into zombie-like creatures. The game features a stellar performance from actor Sam Witwer as the quiet and brooding protagonist Deacon. The Days Gone Original Video Game Soundtrack from Nathan Whitehead features 25 tracks including four original songs performed by Jack Savoretti, Billy Raffoul, Lewis Capaldi and Zander Reese. It is pressed on 2X 180 Gram colored vinyl (also available on 2X 180 Gram Black vinyl).

Death Mark, also known as Spirit Hunter: Deathmark for its 2019 Western release, is a horror visual novel based in Tokyo’s H city. Anyone bearing a certain mark is said to be about to die due to coming in contact with spirits or ghosts. Throughout the game the player must avoid encounters with terrifying entities in order to survive. The Death Mark Original Soundtrack features sounds and songs from this horrifying title with 10 tracks pressed on a black 12” vinyl.

A beloved game in the survival horror genre to be sure is 2013’s, The Last of Us. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic United States, players follow Joel and Ellie, two survivors in this frightening and cruel world. Known for its fantastic storytelling and terrifying infected creatures, The Last of Us Original Soundtrack Vol. 2 reflects the game’s chilling atmosphere in these 25 beautiful tracks.

The Medium is a psychological horror game that was released just last year in January of 2021. In the game, players must use the protagonist’s power as a medium, uncover disturbing secrets and survive encounters with the horrific entity known as The Maw. The Medium Original Soundtrack features tracks that encompass the game’s oppressive atmosphere and comes pressed on an audiophile 180g black vinyl edition with a gatefold sleeve featuring art by Bloober Team.

One of the first games ever released on CD, The 7th Guest was a groundbreaking puzzle horror game that paved the way for future games in the genre. 7/11: Music from “The 7th Guest” and “The 11th Hour” (the sequel to The 7th Guest) include tracks from these unique computer games with gothic sounds, jazz tunes and more. Materia has partnered with The Fat Man to bring these two soundtracks to you on CD.

Video game music label Firaga Records is set to release the latest album from artist RoBKTA, Ridge Racer Infinity, a high octane album inspired by the classic arcade racing series Ridge Racer.

The album features 10 tracks including On Your Way (from “R4: Ridge Racer Type 4”), Drivin’ U 2 Dacin’ (from “Ridge Racer Revolution”), and Blue Topaz (from “Rave Racer”) with collaborations from Andrew Elmore, Tudd, RoboRob and Virix Dreamcore.

“Ridge Racer is possibly the one video game series that stuck the most with me musically,” says artist RoBKTA, “Ridge Racer Infinity constitutes the album I always wanted to produce to show my love for the series and I am humbled and lucky to have by my side great talents to collaborate with.”

One of Ridge Racer’s original composers, Kohta Takahashi, had this to say about RoBKTA’s album, “RoBKTA’s love for Ridge Racer is unbelievable. I have been listening to his arrangements for over 10 years now and have been encouraged and inspired by them as one of Ridge Racer’s original composers.”

Ridge Racer Infinity is available on popular streaming services. The album is also available on CD and cassette tape now.

A24 Music is excited to announce the release of the Pearl Original Motion Picture Soundtrack with music by Tyler Bates & Timothy Williams.

With only six weeks to assemble a 68-person orchestra, Bates brought in frequent collaborator Timothy Williams, who worked with the composer on Guardians of the Galaxy, to help him audition musicians, build the orchestra, rehearse over four days in Nashville, and record the score.

“In the style of mid-century melodramas,” says West, “Tyler Bates fashioned a sweeping, shrieking, strings-based score that lets the viewer know from the opening credits that Pearl will not be a subdued or quiet film. I said to him, ‘let’s do a romantic, melodramatic, old-school score for this movie.’”

He continues, “This wasn’t the first time I’ve used live instruments on a movie—but it was the first time I had a full orchestra. It was awesome. Tyler and Tim really hit it out of the park. The score is very much one of the film’s central characters, and that was important.”

“Ti expressed the musical approach to this film with us before filming,” says Bates & Williams. “We knew that the music would be based in an “Old Hollywood” approach, which stylistically is something we both love to do. This was a rare opportunity to write a lyrical score where the main theme permeates the music throughout the myriad emotional and psychological dynamics from beginning to end.”

Filmmaker Ti West returns with another chapter from the twisted world of X, in this astonishing follow-up to the year’s most acclaimed horror film. Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. Lusting for a glamorous life like she’s seen in the movies, Pearl finds her ambitions, temptations, and repressions all colliding in this stunning, technicolor-inspired origin story of X’s iconic villain.

Pearl had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, followed by its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

In a trailer (above) that debuted at the end of the TIFF screening on September 12 2022, it was revealed that A24 has greenlit MaXXXine, the third film of the X horror franchise. MaXXXine is written and directed by Ti West with Mia Goth reprising one of her two roles in X.

Pearl is showing in theaters now across the US, the 19-track album is available today, September 23, 2022 on major digital platforms.

Music Label Curaga Records has just announced that they’re jumping into the world of Nintendo’s very own Mario with a brand new LoFi album, Video Game LoFi: Super Mario 64.

From artists 88bit and Save Point, Video Game LoFi: Super Mario 64 is a nostalgic tribute to Koji Kondo’s beloved soundtrack. With gorgeous piano arrangements, warm analog synths and colorful re-harmonization, the album features 11 tracks that fuse cozy beats and reimagined melodies with jazzy LoFi undertones.

“This was a truly collaborative effort,” says artist 88bit, “I’m so glad Save Point approached me about making this with him. This album gave me an opportunity to take the Super Mario 64 songs and reshape and present them in a new light – chill lo-fi.”

88 bit goes on to say how the album has given the songs a unique transformation while staying true to the original. “I’m excited for many of my friends in the VGM community to listen to these tracks. And I’m hopeful that these songs will find their way to people all over, and that those who love the music from Super Mario 64 (and even those who may not be familiar) will enjoy these recordings as much as we’ve enjoyed making them.”

Artist Save Point had this today about this collaborative album, “We wanted to be as authentic as we possibly could with this album and I love the final result. We only used analog synths, the Prophet 5 and Novation Peak, to really capture that warm feeling. Each track has live piano, guitar, and percussion. I wanted these tracks to feel like you’re having a genuine conversation with an old friend. It really felt like 88bit and I were on the same page from the beginning with our goal to craft something unique and comfy.”

A collaboration of two of the U.K.’s most groundbreaking artists, FKA twigs and Central Cee,  “Measure of a Man” (released by MARV Music) is from the upcoming 20th Century Studios’ film,  “The King’s Man,” and was released by MARV Music, a joint venture of MARV and Warner Records.

Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in “The King’s Man,” in a story that follows one man who must race against time to stop a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gathering to plot a war to wipe out millions.

“The King’s Man” is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.

Five-time GRAMMY Award winning Darkroom / Interscope Records artist Billie Eilish has today revealed the official music video for ‘No Time To Die,’ the original song written for the 25th James Bond motion picture, No Time To Die.

Directed by Daniel Kleinman, the visual interweaves footage of Billie Eilish with scenes taken from the highly anticipated upcoming James Bond motion picture. Watch above .

The song is out via Darkroom / Interscope Records and was produced by Billie’s brother; fellow multi GRAMMY® Award winning FINNEAS alongside Stephen Lipson, with orchestral arrangements by Hans Zimmer and Matt Dunkley, and guitar from Johnny Marr. 18-year-old Eilish is officially the youngest artist in history to both write and record a James Bond theme song.

Speaking on Billie Eilish and FINNEAS’ involvement in the film’s title track, No Time To Die producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli revealed “Billie and Finneas have written an incredibly powerful and moving song for No Time To Die, which has been impeccably crafted to work within the emotional story of the film.”

Billie Eilish said, “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor.”

FINNEAS adds, “writing the theme song for a Bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives. There is no more iconic pairing of music and cinema than the likes of Goldfinger and Live and Let Die. We feel so so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise, long live 007.”

The film’s director Cary Joji Fukunaga shared, “there are chosen few who record a Bond theme.  I am a huge fan of Billie and Finneas.  Their creative integrity and talent are second to none.”

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

No Time To Die will be released in cinemas globally from November 12 in the U.K. through Universal Pictures International and in the U.S on November 20, from MGM via their United Artists Releasing banner.

Billie Eilish and FINNEAS will also be joining Daniel Craig for James Bond Day with a very special interview and performance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, October 5, 2020.

Laced Records once again teams up with Gearbox Software and 2K Games to bring the original soundtrack to the definitive looter-shooter, Borderlands, to vinyl.

The 2009 smash hit Borderlands blended first-person shooting with role-playing elements, fused single-player with multiplayer experiences, provided bazillions of guns to be looted, and told a comedic action-packed story through a radical hand-drawn art style. It also kept fans coming back with an extensive slate of DLC that consistently expanded the world and characters.

The richly talented composition team brought several different flavours to the game. Legendary composer Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed, Hitman) set the tone with dirty, dusty, percussion-heavy musical soundscapes flecked with Wild West guitars. Duo Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco (with credits including Quake 2 & 3, Unreal Tournament, Mass Effect 3, God of War 3, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided) brought the filth and the danger to battle cues. Borderlands series stalwart Raison Varner contributed outlandish battle tracks and, alongside Tim Larkin (DOTA 2, Artifact), saw to some of the more atmospheric and ambient pieces.

Thirty tracks from the original soundtrack, including bonus tracks not before released on physical formats, have been specially remastered for vinyl and will be pressed onto 180g LPs. These will be housed in a wide spined gatefold sleeve.

Sleeve artwork was produced in collaboration with Gearbox Software’s Borderlands art team.

The Borderlands (Original Soundtrack) double LP is available as a Limited Edition with pink discs, exclusive to the Laced Records store. Also available is the Standard Edition with traditional black discs.
