A couple of months since release the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is proving to be the absolute top tier in this year’s smartphones.

Fusing AI smarts with high level tech and camera specs that blow out any current competitor, the S25 Ultra is a powerhouse for mobile photography, videography, multi-tasking and more.

So, what about gaming?

I’m not talking about the casual play here, or emulators (although Android is the emulator go-to for mobile), I’m focusing on triple AAA mobile gaming marathons.

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor coupled with 12GB RAM, there’s definitely enough engine to put you in the fast lane.

First up in the console quality gaming test is Diablo Immortal.

The rich graphics coupled with the fierce combat moments, playing online and offline was seamless, smooth and fluid. The 5,000 mAh battery from full charge lasted over 6 hours (in total).

A fav of mine is Pascal’s Wager. A deep RPG with console graphics.

A slow burn title with a lot of sometimes lengthy video cut sequences, this third person game is a deep play and was not so power friendly.

While gameplay was fine, the S25 Ultra’s battery took a hit and within just 3.5 hours it was game over.

Call of Duty Mobile online and Wreckfest were the primary winners.

Both getting close to or exceeding the battery life of Diablo. And of course not a glitch or lag insight.

Streaming Xbox GamePass is where it’s at though. If you have a GamePass subscription you can stream Xbox games, thus really testing the ‘console quality’ on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Connecting up a bluetooth controller, or via USB-C is the way to go. Sure you can try to use the onscreen touch controls but it is very fiddly.

Forza 7 revved into action with simulated speed and detailed graphics, Deadspace (Remake) interstellar darkness was a smooth play, any game you decide to stream via GamePass on the S25 Ultra is likely to play real well.

GamePass on WiFi was around 3 hours (total), but on mobile data (4G and 5G) the battery drain was quicker at near-to 2 hours. Also on mobile data for GamePass the S25 Ultra tended to heat up.

If you’re on the go and want to get some lengthy Xbox action, carry a battery pack with you.

In all it was no surprise, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is a mobile gaming powerhouse, able to compete with the more specialised ‘gaming smartphones’ out in the market, shows that the S25 Ultra is an all-purpose smartphone with the looks, specs and AI to see you right now and in to the future.

Ubisoft just announced that the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be coming to mobile devices, including Android and iOS, this April.

This action-adventure platformer, inspired by the Metroidvania genre, has been fully adapted to mobile by Ubisoft Da Nang studio, integrating all features to provide a thrilling experience on the go, no internet connection required.

High-quality graphics and gameplay fluidity are ensured, with a 60 FPS rate on most recent generations of mobile devices. Fully adapted for mobile and tablets, players will be able to experience Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Mobile either with an external controller or using the touch screen.

Thanks to the full control remapping option and touch control customization, players can change the size, position and transparency of various control inputs. This mobile version also introduces new distinct features such as auto-potion, auto-parry, slow time options, and many other quality of life features specific to mobile, bringing a more accessible experience to all players.

All quality-of-life and accessibility features present in the original game and awarded in the “Innovation In Accessibility” category of the Game Awards 2024, are available in this version. This encompasses the Eye of the Wanderer, which allows players to take screenshots and pin them to the map as visual reminders. The game also includes all the optional accessibility features, such as adaptable difficulty for enemy encounters, and platform assist.

In this mobile adventure, players will embody Sargon, a young, gifted Persian fighter from the legendary elite group known as The Immortals. Ubisoft has just revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be launching on June 6, 2024, on the App Store for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad Air and iPad Pro with M1 chip or later.

Released on consoles and PC on October 5, 2023, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest instalment of Ubisoft’s best-selling franchise and will be the first console title of the series for players to enjoy natively on mobile devices.

Players will be able to experience the complete narrative-driven action adventure of Assassin’s Creed Mirage on the go, exploring 9th century Baghdad as Basim, a young thief who transforms into a Master Assassin. Developed by Ubisoft Sofia, the iPhone and iPad versions of the game feature the same experience as the console version. In addition, game controls have been adapted to the iPhone and iPad touch screens, providing an intuitive, comfortable and engaging gaming experience. Cross-progression and cross-save are also available through Ubisoft Connect, letting players transfer their progress across all available platforms.

Available on the App Store, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be free to download and play for 90 minutes. The full version supports Universal Purchase and can be unlocked with a single in-app purchase of so players can enjoy the game on both iPhone and iPad.

There’s no denying that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is one epic Android tablet.

The sheer size at 14 inch with dual front camera’s  and a near-to all AMOLED screen make it the perfect entertainment device for at home and on the go.

As a mobile gaming tablet the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra has a lot to offer.

It’s pixel perfect display makes it perfect for those pixeled retro revisits.

But when you throw some console quality gaming goodness at it, the specs of 12GB RAM and its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 really kick in. As does the tablets long life 11200 mAh battery.

A few hours of the RPG Diablo Immortal played real well. That large screen giving a necessary viewscape of your immediate environment in this isometric third person view. Even more pleasing was seeing the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra’s battery hardly dented. From a full charge and a three hour play Diablo Immortal shaved off 9% total.

Call of Duty Mobile was a bit greedier. While this also had no issues with play, and that larger screen was beneficial in PvP, it did knock out around 35% battery life after three hours of unbroken playtime.

For the petrol heads and racers out there, Bugbear’s Wreckfest port to Android is one of the must-haves.

Race, smash and take out opponents on an epic scale with the 14 inch screen on the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The tablet purred along like a well oiled engine. So much so I found myself playing longer than I had planned after a full charge up.

Wreckfest only took 22% battery life after five hours of non-stop metal carnage.

The above games, bar the retro one, are all resource heavy. Graphically as well as spec-wise and of course battery usage.

Yet the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra didn’t break a sweat.

If you’re an Xbox gamer, using Game Pass (cloud gaming) on the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is amazing, especially when out of the home.

This said, this was the heavy hitter on the tablets juice.

Playing Xbox games while on the go for around three hours took 42% battery. It was a little less when not using mobile data and WiFi at home, but not by a lot.

I do recommend using an Xbox Bluetooth controller, as the sheer size of the screen made it a little awkward to play via touch screen.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is an ultimate portable or at home gaming tablet, not only having the inner specs to give you console quality game time but also it the ability to keep up with you for lengthy gaming marathons.

OPPO’s Find N3 foldable comes super spec’d and ticks pretty much every box you’d want in a phone / tablet hybrid.

A killer camera array, a large enough front display when folded so that it is actually usable, and a larger tablet display when unfolded, with a UI that makes it simple to window apps on the 7.8 inch 120Hz AMOLED flexible screen.

I’m not going to do a run down of the specs again, we covered that off in our phone review here.

So what does all that inner goodness really mean when it comes to some quality mobile game time on the OPPO Find N3?

I was keen to find out.

Whether you like to shoot, loot, pillage, race or battle there’s enough console quality titles available on the Google Play store.

From retro to present day, we put the OPPO N3 through its paces and see how it handles.

If you’re the same as me, older games still hold a special place, and Android is the platform to replay them via emulators, or remasters.

Sure these take no processing power whatsoever, and being a foldable, you can play like an Arcade, half folded with your touch screen controls on the lower screen.

Still worthy of a play these 90s classics are going to keep you reminiscing and gaming for literally hours.

Time for some heavier stuff.

The OPPO Find N3 has a generous 16GB RAM coupled with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Whatever you have running on this, there’s enough specs to go around.

Diablo Immortal is one of my go-to’s.

Graphically stunning and gameplay immersive, I can spend a few hours with Immortal, usually until the battery warning pops up.

With other smartphones I have used and tested for gaming, I’ll generally get around 5 or 6 hours of play time before I need to charge up.

The OPPO Find N3 was longer. A lot longer. While the play time was broken up, in total on a full charge I was able to get a total of 11 hours.

The OPPO Find N3 has a 4805mAh battery, and with the ColorOS’ gaming function, the way the the N3 distributes and uses power is definitely paying off.

Call of Duty Mobile is usually super greedy on smartdevices. From a full charge and a 5 hour play, continuous, I still had around 70% charge.

The likes of Immortal and Call of Duty Mobile really do benefit from that larger screen – as does a personal fav of mine – Pascale’s Wager, a full length RPG title specific to mobile.

On any game played, the OPPO N# did not skip a beat. No lag, no graphical glitches, just smooth, vivid and fluid, with impressive audio from the smartphone’s speakers.

If you’re a racer, you’ll be sorted too. Wreckfest and Asphalt gave blistering high octane action and vehicle carnage on screen as fast and fluid as the games were able to render the graphics.

And if you’re an Xbox gamer, get your remote play on real easy.

Having the larger screen that you can fold to fit in to your pocket and game on the go is perfect, providing the device itself has enough guts to be able handle the gaming goodness you throw at it. The OPPO Find N3 most definitely can.

Battery life wise, the OPPO Find N3 outlived the mobile gaming dedicated ASUS ROG 7 Pro phone that I have.

Currently OPPO has outdone themselves with the OPPO Find N3.

A large foldable that comes with everything, a power brick, a case and enough juice to keep you gaming at home and on the go.

Capcom has just announced that Resident Evil 4 is arriving on the latest Apple devices this December.

Prepare to experience the fear of this state-of-the-art survival horror title in the palm of your hand with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The reimagining of the 2005 classic will also be available on iPads and Macs with the M1 chip or later. Separate Ways will launch alongside the action-packed main game. This story DLC follows Ada Wong on a secret mission that expands on the adventure and features thrilling new game mechanics.

Resident Evil 4 is available now for pre-order on the App Store. Players can try a portion of Leon S. Kennedy’s nightmarish journey with a free download to experience the bone-chilling visuals and scary-good performance on Apple devices before accessing the full game with a single purchase.
