Epic Games have confirmed that Fortnite will begin reselling outfits from previous battle passes through a new programme called Unvaulted, starting on 28 June 2026. The first wave brings back Marvel outfits from Chapter 5 Season 4: Absolute Doom, sold as separate bundles in the in-game shop rather than locked behind a season pass.

The move reverses a long-standing Fortnite policy that kept battle pass content exclusive to the players who earned it at the time, opening the door for newer players to buy outfits they missed.

What Unvaulted Brings to the Shop

The Unvaulted programme launches on 28 June with bundles built around Chapter 5 Season 4, the Absolute Doom season that ran from 16 August to 2 November 2024 and stood as Fortnite’s most recent Marvel-dedicated battle pass.

Named outfits returning in the first wave include Gwenpool, War Machine, Peelverine, Captain Jones, and Mysterio, all shown in the announcement trailer posted to the official Fortnite account on X. The Absolute Doom battle pass also featured Marvel characters such as Doctor Doom, Shuri, and Emma Frost, alongside a Captain America styling of the recurring Fortnite character Jonesy.

The Policy Reversal Behind Unvaulted

Fortnite had previously pledged never to resell content released through its time-limited battle passes, a stance that made each pass a must-have purchase but locked later players out of characters released years earlier. Epic Games dropped that policy from 2024 onwards, beginning with the Absolute Doom season, while setting an 18-month window before any battle pass content could be sold separately.

That 18-month window has now lapsed for the Absolute Doom season, which is why its outfits are the first to return. A standard battle pass sold for around $10, roughly the same V-Bucks cost as a single individual skin, which left fans questioning when the season’s characters would reappear individually.

What Else Is Coming to Fortnite

The Unvaulted reveal lands during a busy stretch for the game. Fortnite’s next update rolls out on 25 June, after which Epic Games begins its annual two-week summer break. Content arriving across the coming fortnight includes a major collaboration with popstar Olivia Rodrigo and a crossover with Neopets.

With Unvaulted opening the vault on older battle pass content, attention now turns to which seasons follow Absolute Doom into the shop once their own 18-month windows close.
