Laced Records once again teams up with Gearbox Software and 2K Games to bring the original soundtrack to the definitive looter-shooter, Borderlands, to vinyl.

The 2009 smash hit Borderlands blended first-person shooting with role-playing elements, fused single-player with multiplayer experiences, provided bazillions of guns to be looted, and told a comedic action-packed story through a radical hand-drawn art style. It also kept fans coming back with an extensive slate of DLC that consistently expanded the world and characters.

The richly talented composition team brought several different flavours to the game. Legendary composer Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed, Hitman) set the tone with dirty, dusty, percussion-heavy musical soundscapes flecked with Wild West guitars. Duo Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco (with credits including Quake 2 & 3, Unreal Tournament, Mass Effect 3, God of War 3, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided) brought the filth and the danger to battle cues. Borderlands series stalwart Raison Varner contributed outlandish battle tracks and, alongside Tim Larkin (DOTA 2, Artifact), saw to some of the more atmospheric and ambient pieces.

Thirty tracks from the original soundtrack, including bonus tracks not before released on physical formats, have been specially remastered for vinyl and will be pressed onto 180g LPs. These will be housed in a wide spined gatefold sleeve.

Sleeve artwork was produced in collaboration with Gearbox Software’s Borderlands art team.

The Borderlands (Original Soundtrack) double LP is available as a Limited Edition with pink discs, exclusive to the Laced Records store. Also available is the Standard Edition with traditional black discs.

Who will be crowned the champion of the Iron Fist Tournament?

Laced Records has partnered with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. to release TEKKEN series soundtracks on audiophile-quality vinyl. Releases will include all mainline titles from 1994’s TEKKEN to the latest entry, Tekken 7, and also includes TEKKEN Tag Tournament and TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2.

Nine TEKKEN soundtrack vinyl sets will be released over the course of 2020. Each release will be specially remastered and pressed onto audiophile-quality, 180g heavyweight vinyl LPs, housed in a deluxe sleeve featuring original artwork.

The vinyl series kicks off with TEKKEN and TEKKEN 2 original soundtracks, both available as deluxe double vinyl sets housed in a gatefold sleeve with original artwork provided by Samuel Donato aka DXSinfinite. Tracks have been selected from both the arcade and home console versions. This first pair of titles are now available to pre-order via Laced Records’ store.

The Laced team worked closely with four-time Guinness World Record-holder, multi-game world champion (including two Evo championships) and all-round fighting game community legend Ryan Hart to develop the releases. This was to ensure that the vinyl track lists covered all the right bases when it came to arcade versus home console release soundtracks; representing different characters and stages; and including fan-favourites from down the years.

The list of musicians who have contributed to the series is vast, including industry veterans Rio Hamamoto, Shinji Hosoe, Keiichi Okabe, Nobuyoshi Sano, and many, many more. The music of the series is incredibly eclectic, covering everything from electronic music to rock to classical.

With over 45 million copies sold, TEKKEN is the best-selling fighting game franchise of all time. The game’s recipe is simple: rock solid gameplay and an epic storyline about family, betrayal, big hair, and beating your foes to a pulp.

Laced Records, in partnership with CAPCOM, proudly presents the limited edition Mega Man 1-11: The Collection — 152 tracks pressed onto six ‘Mega Man blue’ 180g vinyl LPs, packaged in deluxe spined inner sleeves, and housed in a luxury ridged board slip case. Music includes the full soundtracks to Mega Man, Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3, as well as a large selection of fan favourites from Mega Man 4 through to Mega Man 11.

The box set features brand new original artwork by illustrator ultimatemaverickx. Exclusive to the Laced Records store, pre-orders are open now at their official store   (outside of the US) and products will ship in December 2019.

For the first time, hear pulse-pounding Mega Man music on wax, with tracks drawn from across the last 32 years of games. Relive the essential Famicom/NES chiptune scores in full, as we present the entire tracklist from Manami Matsumae’s Mega Man OST, Takashi Tateishi’s seminal music for Mega Man 2 (featuring the legendary “Dr. Wily’s Castle 1”), and Yasuaki Fujita and Harumi Fujita’s fan favourite Mega Man 3 OST.

Composers also include Minae Fujii (MM4), Mari Yamaguchi (MM5), Yuko Takehara (MM6, MM7), Makoto Tomozawa (MM7, MM10), Toshihiko Horiyama (MM7), Shusaku Uchiyama (MM8), Ryo Kawakami (MM9, MM10), Yu Shimoda (MM9), Ippo Yamada (MM9, MM10), Hiroki Isogai (MM9), Akari Kaida (MM10), Hiroki Isogai (MM10), and Marika Suzuki (MM11).

Across 32 years and 152 games, the Mega Man (aka Rockman in Japan) series has sold over 35 million units, with The Blue Bomber having become one of the most beloved and recognisable characters in all of gaming history.
