Multimedia artist Kat Von D unveils the self directed cathartic new video for Fear You, the latest single from her debut LP, Love Made Me Do It, out August 27, 2021.

“I wanted to create a storyline that exemplifies violence in a way that was therapeutic and not self destructive. I wrote and directed this video to tell the story of not only the pain of heartbreak, but the power of the support from the friends around you” Kat Von D says.

The visuals perfectly depict the song’s lyrical content; trust, self-exploration and the concept of overcoming your inner fears when it comes to fully committing your heart to a loved one.

“The video starts off with me picking up my bandmates for band practice, but quickly discovering that Sammi and Gregg are experiencing turmoil within their relationships” Kat says. “It inspires me to throw band practice on the back burner, and take my mates on a journey to a mystery destination”.”

Describing the video Kat says: “We all pile in to an immaculately restored black 1957 Chevy convertible, and embark on our journey down a desolate highway, passing a hitchhiker (special cameo of Prayers), and finally exit and park in an abandoned ghost town where I finally reveal my surprise plan to my mates after I open the truck of the car to reveal an Arsenal of weapons for each of them to choose from. This leads us to a beautiful display of all red glass objects all perfectly arranged for us to take out our frustrations on together. There’s nothing more satisfying to watch than slow motion shots of the destruction of something so delicate and beautiful. After channeling all our frustrations out into the glass, we all feel a sense of relief and return to the car to drive off into the night. One step closer to healing”.

Having been a classically trained pianist since her youth with a deep appreciation for music of all genres, Kat poured her soul into this long-awaited full-length debut album.

Gifted multi-hyphenate Kat Von D is beginning an electrifying new chapter in her career with the release of her debut single and video for ‘Exorcism’ out today.

‘Exorcism’ marks the first track from her forthcoming debut album, ‘Love Made Me Do It’, due August 27th 2021. The pre-order of ‘Love Made Me Do It’ includes limited edition signed red vinyl, red cassettes, CD digipack, hoodies with Kat’s signature star face tattoos on the hood, custom sketchbooks and much more.

Other limited edition colour vinyl variants are also available for retail.

Both a sonic and songwriting leap for Kat, ‘Exorcism’ takes the listener on a reflective journey through the cycles of love and loss, rebirths and passings, the feelings of vulnerability and hardships a woman faces as she makes her way through challenges in her life. A cinematic and symphonic slow burn, the emotional track evokes wonder, tranquility, joy, pain, and ultimately, hope.

“I wrote ‘Exorcism’ after having binged on every exorcist movie that ever existed,” said Kat. “I loved the idea of tying the act of being possessed by something outside your control to what love can sometimes feel like; losing yourself in someone else, and sometimes it leaving you black and blue.”

Long before the history-making tattoos, ubiquitous television shows, best-selling books and an influential beauty empire, Kat Von D sat down at a piano for nearly two hours a day and played. In essence, music became her first creative language and most trusted outlet.

Classical training and a deep appreciation for music of all genres essentially underscored her life. She studied voice under Ken Tamplin six days per week, strengthening her vocals. In 2012, she began writing with GRAMMY Award-nominated Linda Perry. Following this experience, Kat continued to write on her own, sitting at the piano and summoning songs from raw emotion.

During 2014, she retreated to London to record the original mix of what would become her full-length debut album ‘Love Made Me Do It’ (KVD / Kartel Music Group) before cementing it with her band Gregg Foreman AKA Mr. Pharmacist (synth 1 / Cat Power, The Gossip), Sammi Doll (synth 2 / IAMX), Dave Parley (drums / Prayers), and Brynn Route (contortionist).

They moved into a bungalow cottage on her property, lived together, and finished the record. Capping off the process, Dan Haigh of Gunship handled mixing. A pastiche of shapeshifting analog synths, post-punk dreamscapes, gothic hues, and shy pop magnetism, these eleven songs echo the eternal will of the perennially brokenhearted to love until death.

Two years have passed since the self-titled debut of Warrior Path that hit the world’s Underground Metal scene like the Hammer of Thor, getting everything from raving reviews to scoring the highest ranks on various “Album Of The Year” lists.

 Continuing their journey, main-man and songwriter Andreas Sinanoglou and musician / producer Bob Katsionis (Firewind / Outloud / Serious Black) along with drummer Dave Rundle, are coming back with another epic tale, the tale of “The Mad King”.

This time they are joined by one of the most legendary singers in the history of Power Metal, Swedish vocal phenomenon Daniel Heiman (Lost Horizon) taking the torch from Yannis Papadopoulos (Beast In Black).

Musically, the band seems to have evolved in all aspects, leaving the obvious influences and forging their own sound: The excessive number of ballads of the debut gave its place to furious songs, the Iron Maiden-ish twin harmonies became epic metal riffs, while the production itself is “warmer” and even louder and punchier than the one of their debut. Still, the influences vary from Riot, Heaven’s Gate and Scanner to Crimson Glory and early Queensryche.

According to main songwriter of the band, Andreas: “Every time I’m writing music, I always do it having a full album in my head. My vocal lines always reflect a particular style of singing. Yannis was fitting perfectly the songs I had composed for our debut due to his lyrical and melodic approach and we were more than happy with the final result. But for our sophomore album, I realised there was a more epic, tense and generally “darker” atmosphere and to my mind there was no-one else than Daniel to do it. We knew it would be hard to find him, didn’t know if he would be interested in doing it, given that he is very picky on the stuff he puts his voice on, but in the end it all worked out pretty well, he is a total pro and we’re glad he did go that extra mile to make the album sound as it does.”

Daniel Heiman quotes:” After interesting discussions with the band members and since we agreed very quickly on all levels, I knew it would be an awesome collaboration and when I heard the new music I was blown away.

Old fans of Warrior Path and fans of my voice will not be disappointed! Also, I know a lot of new fans will emerge with this amazing release.”

“The Mad King” was recorded during the first pandemic “Global Lockdown” in the new Sound Symmetry Studio of Bob Katsionis in Athens, Greece and analog-mastered once more by Nasos Nomikos at VU, Productions in Piraeus, Greece.

For the magnificent cover artwork, the band once again worked with Bulgarian artist Dimitar Nikolov bringing to life a scene from the Palace of the Mad King as told in the title track of the album.

“The Mad King” will be released in deluxe digipak CD via Symmetric Records and in Gatefold Vinyl by Ikaros Records, along with a Special Box-Set bundle.

Marilyn Manson announces the release of his eleventh studio album WE ARE CHAOS.

Produced by GRAMMY Award winner Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker) and Manson, the ten-track opus was written, recorded, and finished before a pandemic blanketed us all. Manson heralds the record’s arrival with the title track and lead single “WE ARE CHAOS,” has released now. The accompanying video (above) is directed, photographed and edited by Matt Mahurin.

Manson’s painting, Infinite Darkness, which can be seen on the album cover, was specifically created to accompany the music. His fine art paintings continue to be shown all over the world, including gallery and museum exhibitions from Miami to Vienna to Moscow.

Manson says of the album, “When I listen to WE ARE CHAOS now, it seems like just yesterday or as if the world repeated itself, as it always does, making the title track and the stories seem as if we wrote them today.  This was recorded to its completion without anyone hearing it until it was finished. There is most definitely a side A and side B in the traditional sense. But just like an LP, it is a flat circle and it’s up to the listener to put the last piece of the puzzle into the picture of songs.

“This concept album is the mirror Shooter and I built for the listener – it’s the one we won’t stare into. There are so many rooms, closets, safes and drawers. But in the soul or your museum of memories, the worst are always the mirrors. Shards and slivers of ghosts haunted my hands when I wrote most of these lyrics.

“Making this record, I had to think to myself: ‘Tame your crazy, stitch your suit. And try to pretend that you are not an animal’ but I knew that mankind is the worst of them all. Making mercy is like making murder. Tears are the human body’s largest export.”

Marilyn Manson has teamed up with producer Shooter Jennings to record a cover of The Doors’ ‘The End’ along with a visual created by Zev Deans.

Following an incendiary set at Travis Scott’s Astroworld earlier this month Manson has been confirmed as a special guest on Ozzy Osbourne’s No More Tours 2 which will hit arenas in North America in May of 2020 including NYC’s Madison Square Garden2 (June 22) and the Hollywood Bowl (July 27).

The End follows Manson’s recent cover of God’s Gonna Cut You Down, shared in October with a cinematic video shot by director Tim Mattia.

‘The End’ is available to pre-order now on limited pressing picture disc featuring one of Manson’s original watercolour painting.
