Gen.G Invites Radiant Players to Join Its Next VALORANT Line-Up

Gen.G Esports, one of the Pacific region’s top VALORANT organisations, is shaking up its roster ahead of the 2026 VCT season, and in a rare move, it’s opening public tryouts for its main team.

The announcement, shared on Gen.G’s official social channels, calls for skilled and ambitious players ready to compete at the highest level of VALORANT. The recruitment began on 30 October 2025 and will continue until the new players are selected.

“In 2026, Gen.G is opening recruitment for its VALORANT team! We invite everyone who’s ready to reach new heights together with Gen.G,” the post reads.

Applications can be submitted through an official Google Form, and the organisation is encouraging those who meet the strict requirements to apply.

How to Apply and What’s Required

Gen.G’s recruitment process consists of four stages: application submission, document review, online/offline trials and interviews, and finally, selection notification. Only successful applicants will be contacted.

To be eligible, players must:

• Be 18 years or older
• Hold a Radiant rank in the APAC region
• Have a clean record with no history of bans or Elo-boosting
• Be willing to live in a team house and travel internationally

Preferred qualifications include prior competitive experience in VALORANT or other FPS titles, notable achievements or awards, and strong communication skills in both English and Korean.

While open tryouts are common for academy teams, Gen.G’s decision to hold public recruitment for its main roster is an unusual move, signalling a major reshuffle and a willingness to scout fresh talent directly from the ranked ladder.

A Fresh Start After a Tough Season

Gen.G’s 2025 season was a mix of highs and lows. The team began the year with promising performances, placing third at VCT Pacific Kickoff and runner-up in Pacific Stage 1, earning a spot at Masters Toronto 2025, where they finished fifth overall and took home $50,000.

Their momentum continued at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, where they secured third place after a strong run, earning around $130,000 in prize money. However, things took a downturn in Pacific Stage 2, where they placed eighth after a loss to Rex Regum Qeon, missing out on a Champions 2025 qualification.

The disappointing end led to major roster changes. Earlier in October, Gen.G confirmed the departure of several players, leaving only Ha ‘Ash’ Hyun-cheol, Kim ‘Karon’ Won-tae, and Kim ‘t3xture’ Na-ra in the active line-up.

Building for the Future

By opening public tryouts, Gen.G appears to be looking for hungry, high-ranked players who can bring new energy to the squad and help the team reclaim its place at the top of the Pacific VALORANT scene.

Applications are open until positions are filled, and interested players can apply through the official Gen.G VALORANT recruitment form.

Whether this approach will unearth the next breakout star remains to be seen, but it’s a bold move that shows Gen.G’s commitment to rebuilding, and perhaps redefining, its competitive legacy heading into 2026.
