Season 2 Is Officially Locked In

SNK has confirmed that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Season 2 will begin rolling out in January 2026, giving fans another round of new content shortly after the final Season 1 fighter, Mr. BIG, joined the roster.

The announcement was made through the game’s official X account, where SNK teased that more information is coming soon, encouraging players to stay tuned as the new season approaches.

Many in the FGC believe Season 2 could get its first full trailer during The Game Awards 2025, happening on 11 December, although SNK has yet to confirm this.

A Strong First Season Sets the Stage

Season 1 offered a surprisingly varied mix of characters, featuring:

Andy Bogard

Ken Masters (Street Fighter)

Joe Higashi

Chun Li (Street Fighter)

Mr. BIG

The game has been steadily building momentum despite competing with heavy hitters like Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, and Guilty Gear Strive. With SNK officially confirming Season 2, it appears City of the Wolves has found a solid enough player base to support further development.

What We Know About Season 2 So Far

Right now, details for Season 2 are deliberately vague. SNK has not revealed any gameplay footage or confirmed the new fighters, but we already know the long term plan thanks to Producer Yasuyuki Oda, who told 4Gamer ahead of launch:

“For the launch, we’ll have 17 characters and with the downloadable content after we’re adding five more, so for Season 1 there will be a total of 22 characters. As of right now, we have plans as far as a Season 3.”

This confirms that new DLC fighters are guaranteed, and Season 2 will be an important stepping stone toward an even larger final roster.

Who Could Join the Roster?

The community is already deep in speculation, and a few names are constantly surfacing based on story hints and past appearances.

Gao

Gato’s father is referenced in several character endings and shares his reputation for blisteringly fast kicks and aggressive play. If he joins the roster, players can expect a high pressure, aerial heavy fighter.

Blue Mary

A fan favourite and long time presence in SNK titles, Blue Mary’s signature rushdown style, fast hops, and tricky mixups would bring a lot of energy to Season 2.

Kim Jae Hoon

Carrying on his father’s legacy, Jae Hoon combines Taekwondo with fiery effects on certain attacks, making him one of the more visually striking potential candidates.

Duck King

Known for his dance heavy, unpredictable rushdown, Duck King could add a fun and chaotic twist to the roster.

There is also discussion around avoiding more guest fighters, as some players want Season 2 to focus purely on Fatal Fury and SNK legends, following the crossover heavy first season.

SNK Promises More Reveals Soon

While it’s still early, Season 2 arriving in January means SNK will likely reveal a trailer, key artwork, and at least the first DLC fighter before the end of December. City of the Wolves already surprised players with its Season 1 lineup, so expectations are high for another round of nostalgic and exciting additions.

As always, fans can expect fast paced gameplay updates, balance tweaks, and possibly new systems as Season 2 launches.

Final Thoughts

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has quietly become one of the most interesting fighting games to follow in 2025. SNK’s decision to greenlight a second season, and even hint at a third, shows real confidence in its future.

With new fighters looming and more announcements just around the corner, the next chapter for City of the Wolves is shaping up to be a big one.

The timeless tale of Pinocchio and his creator Geppetto took a twisty and dark road with the release of Lies of P in 2023.

A third person action adventure game with RPG mechanics and an unforgiving combat difficulty.

Beautifully designed you are P, a puppet with unique abilities. You are special. You’re the only puppet with human-like intelligence. The only puppet who is able to tell a lie.

Set in a 19th century cyberpunk-like world in a city known as Krat, where puppets that once served man went postal.

Now the developers have just released one epic DLC, that could have been a singular game release entirely, Lies of P: Overture.

P is warped back to the beginning. Overture is a prequel to the main game, before the puppets went on a murderous massacre.

Guided by a mysterious Stalker, P will uncover the reason why the cyber puppets went rogue.

This is a whole different Krat than we have seen before, as the adeventure takes you beyond the city and only you know of what the near future is about to hold.

Lies of P: Overture plays similarly to the original game, with RPG elements and that brutal unforgiving combat.

This new DLC is only accessible via completing the full game, up to Chapter 9. You of course need the original game and the patience and tolerance to forge through.

Expect to die. A lot. Lies of P is not a ‘run and gun’, combat needs to have a more strategic method in order to survive.

Lies of P is coming on to two years since release but is still one of the most beautifully styled games available. The Overture DLC simply adds to this, while maintaining the original playstyle and expanding upon the darkest Pinocchio story ever told.

I absolutely loved playing the original Splatoon release.

The fun gameplay made an average campaign an absolute blast to play. Well now with the Side Order DLC tfor the latest Splatoon 3 here is more reasons to play this game, or replay this game with a brand new mode.

There is a story here, but honestly my eyes glazed over pretty fast.

In short you job is to get to the top of the building. You do this by completing challenges on each of the floors. This can be anything from killing portals that enemies are coming out of, keeping a certain area covered in your paint, to getting a soccer ball where it needs to go.

Complete the 30 levels and you are done.

Don’t panic if you get killed, it turns out this DLC package is a rogue lite.

Over time you upgrade your kit, and then make your way to the top level to fight that boss. The biggest issue the game has is the levels get repetitive fast. The good news is the gameplay still rules, so the repetitive levels are at least fun. There are some quirks with other aspects of the level, my favourite is the floor being a trampoline resulting in a lot of chaotic bouncing and paint shooting.

There is a series of new enemies, which are a bunch of fish that do different things like leaving a black ink trail, to shooting at ya, to just mindlessly spraying black ink all over the place. It’s very silly, but very fun.

It’s not the hardest rogue lite around, and only took me a few goes to get to the end the first time.

The good news is that once that is done you can replay the tower with different weapons which makes the challenge wildly different. On top of this you have elements like upgrading your gear which adds some variety. You will also need this kit if you are going to play the more challenging versions of levels as they can get hard.

While Splatoon 3: Side Order isn’t the hardest game out there, it absolutely is fun. It’s a nice shift from the previous versions of the game that makes singe player slightly different, and gives you a good excuse to get back int the game and enjoy the sweet sweet gameplay.

I really hope the next iteration of Splatoon comes with this mode baked in.

2023 saw the return of the latest mainstream entry in the Final Fantasy series in 2023 with the action-RPG styled Final Fantasy XVI.

Telling a complete, compelling story it told the tale of Clive, Jill and Joshua as they strive to rid the world of magic, and by doing so set the downtrodden Bearers free.

But now Final Fantasy XVI is receiving story DLC in the form of Echoes of the Fallen, a new roughly 3 hour chapter set right at the end of the game. Unlike what felt like emergency downloadable content for the last full entry, Final Fantasy XV, this is not a patch up job nor an attempt to make the main narrative somewhat comprehensible. Instead, it is its own thing, fully separated from the main goings on in Valisthea.

As such, it is really only for those who have already invested the 40 odd hours necessary to complete XVI’s main story. To access the DLC at all, you’ll need to be right before the final mission, with a high level character and multiple upgraded Eikon abilities at your disposal. Unfortunately, unlike many recent DLCs, there’s no ability to start this mini-story separately with a pre-configured character. This will limit the number of people who will be able to start the DLC, at least initially, but, if you’ve run out of steam in the main campaign this extra content is not so different to bring you back to it anyway.

The DLC starts off with the revelation that so-called ‘dusk crystals’ are being traded at extravagant prices amongst the desperate populace. Upon investigation, Clive realises these are coming from a previously unknown mothercrystal, one that was created by the previous, technologically-advanced society, the Fallen. With the help of some fairly poorly voice acted new characters, he conveniently finds this mothercrystal base quite quickly, and sets off to dismantle the entire operation.

So in reality, this DLC is one more ‘dungeon’, just like the other main missions that you have gone through a number of times in the story campaign. It is a shame that the structure adheres so closely to what has come before. Given that the DLC is only accessible at the end of the campaign, it starts to feel a bit rote by the end of it. Fight enemies, move forward, fight a mini-boss, move forward, fight another wave of goons, move forward, and pass muster at a big end battle.

While there is some good lore revealed during your travels, there is little urgency or personality that made me invested in getting to the end of the dungeon. Instead of a rival Dominant to face off against, all I had was a faceless voice speaking technical gibberish and a final boss that had little introduction and an even shorter send-off. Worse, there’s not even any real reward for your troubles, and like the rest of the game the experience, ability points and gil are doled out in disappointingly frugal amounts.

In the end, its more Final Fantasy XVI. If you liked the original game, then this will be a nice little reminder of what was enjoyable about the main experience. It does reveal more about the world and history of Valisthea, even if its impacts are not obvious nor enduring after the DLC’s self-contained story is over. I would have liked to see it impact the world more, and to have more of an impact on the rest of the game, especially in Clive’s abilities.

KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Team NINJA has just released the third and final DLC for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

This adds new stages, a new Divine Beast, a new weapon category and more.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s haunting storyline continues with the release of DLC Vol.3, “Upheaval in Jingxiang”, as Yuan Shu, fuelled by his hatred of humans, secretly plans to build a world of demons. New stages include an abandoned waterside village, a castle, and an abandoned mine where kidnapped victims are now transformed into demons. A new tree-like monster, Shuyao, will give players a tough time as they have to watch out for the poisonous spores it sprays onto the battlefield from its long tree-branch-like limbs.

To help in the fight is the new weapon category, the Whip, along with a new Divine Beast, Chenghuang. This Divine Beast is reminiscent of a white fox with horse-like legs and two appendages resembling dragon horns jutting out from its spine. Players will be able to ride Chenghuang into battle, attacking enemies while galloping around them. This is the first time in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty that a human character and a Divine Beast are united in action, allowing the player to experience an unprecedented feeling of fighting together with the Divine Beast.

Other enhancements in DLC Vol. 3 include a new difficulty level, a new stratagem system, and an expansion to the end-game content Thousand Mile Journey that allows players to advance further than levels 100-1000. The expansion also adds to the benefits and rewards, like Legendary Armor, that can be obtained.

Additionally, a free update was recently made available that includes a collaboration with Team NINJA’s popular Soulslike game, Nioh 2. The free update features a battle mission against Nioh 2 boss and deadly demon Mezuki. Players who clear the stage will be able to obtain the “Scampuss Hat” as a special reward.

The dark fantasy action RPG is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Publisher Focus Entertainment and studio Mundfish have just announced that Atomic Heart’s second DLC will release this coming February, 2024.

The Trapped in Limbo DLC – available as part of the Atomic Pass – will take players back to the strange and colourful world of Limbo to uncover new mysteries as they fight to find their way out. It comes complete with amazing enemies, weapons of unique appearance, and a host of exciting revelations. Mark your calendars and get an exciting first look at this new explosive chapter in today’s gameplay trailer.

Atomic Heart: Trapped in Limbo DLC picks the story up immediately after the end of the main game, this time continuing a different ending from the one that the Annihilation Instinct DLC followed.

It introduces new sections of the twisted Limbo world bursting with fan-favourite challenges, but this time with a unique Limbo flavour! While diving into the new insane gameplay, players will be tasked with helping P-3 break through a series of dizzying obstacles, uncover the secrets of his past and the world of Limbo, and demolish uniquely looking opponents with marvellously looking weapons in a combat extravaganza. In order to rise from the depths of Limbo to the top and free P-3’s mind from his demons, players will have to do everything they can to curb the changed rules of the game. The Trapped in Limbo DLC holds the key to finding out the fate of Major P-3, and it is up to players to get their hands on it, surviving in this enigmatic world with inverted logic.

As they fight, run, jump and slide across the platforms, players will be collecting apples to unlock skills and weapons, as well as gold coins to unlock up to 7 unique skins that can be equipped in the main campaign!

The Atomic Heart Trapped in Limbo DLC will release on the 6th of February 2024 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.

When I checked out Pokémon Scarlett I was in love.

The game’s story was better than expected but running around the open world was fun as hell. Annoyingly the bugs and performance issues held the enjoyment back from being the amazing game it should have been. Well now the first of 2 parts of a DLC package have dropped so I was ready to jump back in and see how much the game has improved.

Let’s see.

The DLC kicks off with you jumping back into the world and getting a call to return to the Academy’s Entrance Hall. Here you meet Miss Briar from the Blueberry Academy in the Unova region. It turns out you have been chosen to go on an exchange program, so it is time to venture off to a new land.

Well new to Juliana, we saw Unove in Black and White. And don’t get too amped that you’ll be going back to this old school map either, it is just a small area based on that continent.

Anyway, back to the game. The storyline is not too long, so I won’t spoil too much, but the big mystery is a local legend about a legendary Pokémon and 3 others that protect the land from it. You investigate, learn more, and well…. Fight some Pokémon. On the whole the story is nice and light, and enjoyable enough for a Pokémon game.

Fortunately the DLC isn’t just this short story. There are some new Pokémon to catch, both from history and some brand newbies, and heaps of additional side quests to tuck into. I spent easily 6 hours fluffing around in the DLC, which is pretty dang solid. You get a new Pokédex to fill up, but you get a head start with any you caught in the base game.

As for bugs, they aren’t gone yet. Within minutes of being in the new area it was really struggling to play the game. It was chugging and the framerate dropped like crazy. I didn’t hit any hard crashes this time, which might be luck, but still, either this game isn’t optimized for the Switch hardware, or the Switch needs a beefy upgrade. It wasn’t enough to stop me enjoying the game, but it was bloody rough at times.

On the whole, The Teal Mask was a fun as hell bit of DLC.

The light hearted story, new Pokémon and just general fun is all there. I just hope the game runs smoother by the time the second part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC releases. I’m not optimistic.
