Without a Roof have registered for the BLAST Open Fall 2026 NA Open Qualifier #1, fielding Jake “Stewie2K” Yip, Timothy “autimatic” Ta, and Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham in the roster’s first official appearance since the lineup leaked on Austin “Cooper” Abadir’s stream in May. The registration was confirmed on 24 June 2026, with the qualifier set to begin on 27 June.

The trio reunites the core of the Cloud9 side that won the ELEAGUE Boston 2018 Major, the first and so far only North American team to win a Counter-Strike Major. After years away from the server, the qualifier is their first competitive test together since the project came to light.

The Boston Major Core Reunites Under Without a Roof

Stewie2K, autimatic, and Skadoodle anchor the Without a Roof lineup, the same three players who lifted the trophy in Boston in 2018. For NA fans who followed Counter-Strike that year, the names carry specific weight, as Cloud9’s run remains the region’s only Major title to date.

The reunion first surfaced on 12 May 2026, when Cooper “leaked” on his stream that the trio had begun practising together ahead of a return to Counter-Strike 2. That gives the group roughly six weeks of practice before stepping into qualifier play.

Lineup Changes Since the Leak

The roster has shifted in the weeks since it first came to light. Victor “Victor” Wong has departed, with Justin “FaNg” Coakley brought in on trial to fill the fifth spot. Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte is on vacation and unavailable for the qualifier, so veteran Joshua “steel” Nissan steps in as a stand-in. According to team manager Danan “Danan” Flander, the core trio has been practising and scrimming consistently since the leak, treating the project with more seriousness than the initial nostalgia framing suggested.

The team has not gone official yet, but the lineup it fields for the qualifier is set.

Without a Roof’s Qualifier Roster

Player

Handle

Status

Jake Yip

Stewie2K

Core

Timothy Ta

Justin Coakley

FaNg

Trial

Joshua Nissan

steel

Stand-in for Brehze

Steel brings strategic and in-game leadership experience from his time at the top of the North American scene, while FaNg sits at the younger end of the roster and adds raw mechanical ability alongside the veterans around him.

A Real Test After Years of Inactivity

This qualifier carries more weight than a typical NA open bracket. Most of these players have been inactive since 2024 or early 2025, making the event their first taste of competitive pressure in a long time. Whether the chemistry and individual sharpness have survived the layoff is exactly what the bracket will reveal.

Open qualifiers are brutal by design. The field is open to any registered team, ranging from established rosters on the bubble to newly formed squads still finding their footing.

What Is at Stake in the BLAST Open Fall Qualifier

The BLAST Open Fall is one of the marquee events on the CS2 calendar, and the NA Open Qualifier is the first gate any team without a direct invite needs to clear. The first BLAST Open Fall 2026 NA Open Qualifier starts on 27 June, with two spots in the Closed Qualifier up for grabs.

G2 are on the lookout for loan offers for their G2 Ares player Vilius “tAk” Keserauskas, the organisation confirmed to HLTV on 24 June 2026. The 21-year-old Lithuanian rifler has grown into the main star of G2’s junior squad, and the org now wants to move him into regular competition outside the academy system to accelerate his development in Counter-Strike 2.

G2 pointed directly to the loan of academy player kl1m to MIBR as the template for the move, having seen that path work for a young player coming through their pipeline.

Who Is tAk And Why G2 Want To Loan Him

tAk has been part of G2 Ares, the organisation’s Counter-Strike 2 academy team, since July 2024, growing into the main star of the side and averaging a 1.18 rating in 2026 in high-output positions. Born on 21 December 2004, the 21-year-old has recently graduated from university, which G2 framed as a key reason he is now ready to commit fully to professional play. His career prize earnings sit at roughly $8,960.

tAk already got a brief taste of tier-one Counter-Strike at IEM Rio, where he stood in for Nemanja “huNter-” Kovac at short notice after the Bosnian captain was sidelined by an injury. G2 now want to develop him further in the upper echelons of the game through a loan rather than keeping him inside the academy.

What G2 Manager peca Said

G2 manager Petar “peca” Markovic set out the reasoning behind the search for offers.

“tAk is a vocal, versatile, hungry player who is ready to take more responsibility. With him graduating from university, he is also in a position to fully focus on the next step in his career.”

Markovic also pointed to the precedent G2 set with kl1m, who was loaned to the Brazilian squad MIBR.

“We have already seen the loan path working well with kl1m in MIBR. It proved that the right project, regular officials, and a clear role can be the perfect next step for a young player coming through our academy system. We believe the same path makes sense for tAk as well.”

The MIBR Precedent And What Comes Next

G2’s reasoning rests on the kl1m move, which the org views as proof that a loan to the right project with regular official matches and a defined role can bridge the gap between academy play and the demands of professional Counter-Strike 2. For tAk, a loan addresses that same gap, letting him take on a starter role and consistent reps that academy competition cannot supply.

The search for loan offers is now open, with no destination yet confirmed. G2’s next decision rests on which roster can give tAk the regular competition and clear role the org is looking for.

The regional distribution for the PGL Singapore Major has firmed up following the IEM Cologne Major’s Stage 3 results, and the headline is a painful one for Asia. 9z’s upset of The MongolZ in Cologne has cost the region its direct Stage 3 invite, while Europe has climbed to 18 of the 32 available slots, leaving Asia with just five places and none in the final stage.

How the 32 Singapore Major Slots Break Down

The results in Cologne reshaped the allocation across all three stages, with Europe picking up one spot from the Americas after Stage 1, rising to 18 from 17. The full distribution is below.

Region

Total

Stage 1

Stage 2

Stage 3

Europe

18

6

6

Americas

9

6

1

2

Asia

5

4

1

0

9z’s Win Costs Asia Its Stage 3 Place

The decisive shift came from 9z’s victory over The MongolZ, which removed Asia’s invitation to Stage 3 of the Singapore Major, barring any last-minute rule changes. As things stand, Stage 3 will feature six European teams joined by two from the Americas. Stage 2 again leans European with six spots, plus one each for Asia and the Americas, while Stage 1 pits six European squads against six from the Americas and four from Asia.

Europe Tightens Its Grip

The net effect is a Major weighted heavily toward Europe, which now holds more than half of all available slots and a full third of every stage. The Americas hold steady at nine across the three stages, but Asia’s drop to five, with no representation in Stage 3, underlines how much the Cologne results have reshaped the path to Singapore before a single match has been played there.

Another Chapter in Astralis’ Struggles

ruggah had been with Astralis through a difficult rebuilding phase, and his departure marks another turn in the organisation’s long effort to climb back toward the level of dominance that once made it the most decorated team in the sport. The exit immediately after a disappointing Major run underlines how far the current side sits from those heights, and how much pressure there is to find a new direction.

A Rebuild Without a Coach

With ruggah gone, Astralis enter the post-Major window needing to appoint new coaching leadership before they can map out any roster moves. The organisation has not named a replacement, leaving the head-coach seat empty at exactly the point the side needs stability most.

The Last SAW Player Moved Out

krazy was the last link to the roster that carried the SAW name before BC.Game took it over, and his move to the bench severs that connection entirely. With every original member of the core now out of the active team, the lineup BC.Game inherited has been fully dismantled, closing the book on a chapter that defined the brand’s competitive identity.

A Clean Slate for BC.Game

The benching leaves BC.Game facing a roster rebuild with no remaining ties to the SAW group. Having steadily reshaped the project since taking on the brand, the organisation now moves forward entirely on its own terms, with krazy’s exit the final step in turning over the squad it once inherited.

Why the Favourites Are Bunched Together

The seeding, determined by Buchholz (cumulative opponent record) from Stage 3, has compressed the strongest teams into one part of the draw. HLTV notes that the top three ranked teams, Vitality at world number one, Spirit and FURIA, all sit on the same side of the bracket, meaning at least two of them will be eliminated before the Grand Final. The clearest consequence is in the top half: with Spirit facing G2 and Vitality facing Falcons, the two title favourites are on a collision course for the semi-finals, so one of them is guaranteed to fall short of the final.

The Contenders and the Underdogs

Vitality arrive as the overwhelming favourites for a CS2 threepeat, having gone 3-1 in both Budapest and Austin and still lifted both trophies. Spirit’s magixx has matured rapidly as in-game leader, dominating Stage 2 and dropping only 10 rounds across four maps. On the other side, 9z have produced the run of the tournament, the South American side beating PARIVISION, Vitality and The MongolZ to reach this stage, while BetBoom qualified on strong fundamentals even with a stand-in. G2 made it through without fully convincing and face a daunting test against Spirit, and FURIA arrived via a 3-0 record without quite recapturing their 2025 consistency. With Aurora and Falcons also in the mix as underdogs, the road to the 21 June Grand Final runs straight through the sport’s heavyweights.

A Thumbs-Up Counted as Illegal Communication

Under Valve sanctioned event rules, coaches may only communicate with players during tactical timeouts and halftime breaks, and the restriction extends to non-verbal gestures. adrrr’s thumbs-up to dumau came after the end of a tactical timeout, which classified it as illegal non-verbal coach-to-player communication and triggered his third and final infraction. adrrr admitted he slipped up in the heat of the moment. The ban was reflected in the official roster documentation for the event, where adrrr had appeared in Legacy’s filings as far back as April 2026.

Legacy Must Self-Coach at the Major

Losing a coach mid-event strips Legacy of a key strategic voice at one of the year’s most important tournaments. The team has been active in the bracket, facing heavyweights such as MIBR and Natus Vincere around 12 and 13 June, and now its in-game leader must shoulder more of the strategic burden. Timeout calls become less about refined adjustments and more about keeping composure, leaving the side to effectively self-coach through its highest-pressure matches.

Questions Over Enforcement Transparency

The ruling has also drawn attention to how such decisions are communicated. There was little public detail around the specific violation at the time the ban surfaced, and unlike traditional sports, where disciplinary actions usually come with at least a general explanation, the lack of a clear statement leaves the community to piece the situation together. With adrrr sidelined for the rest of the event, Legacy press on through the Major short a coach and under added scrutiny.

One of Counter-Strike’s Most Decorated Players

apEX is a four-time Major champion and one of the most decorated players in Counter-Strike history, and he serves as the in-game leader and captain of Team Vitality’s CS2 roster. That pedigree is what makes him an unusual signing for a mainstream sports apparel brand, since few active CS2 players sit on the official athlete rosters of non-endemic companies of Oakley’s size.

Oakley’s Growing Counter-Strike Presence

The apEX deal builds on Oakley’s recent push into Counter-Strike, following its two-year apparel and product partnership with Brazilian organisation FURIA. apEX himself already holds a separate gear partnership with gaming monitor brand ZOWIE, and his Oakley signing comes hot on the heels of teammate ZywOo announcing his own ambassador partnership with GPU giant NVIDIA GeForce earlier in the same week.

The result is back-to-back individual sponsorships landing at a single organisation within days, a sign that mainstream brands are increasingly treating top-tier CS2 players on the same commercial footing as traditional sports athletes.

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, Team Vitality’s Counter-Strike 2 star, has signed on as an NVIDIA GeForce brand ambassador, announcing the partnership on 8 June 2026 and putting the GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card front and centre as a “must-have” upgrade. It is the French rifler’s third major individual hardware sponsorship, after deals with ASUS Republic of Gamers and Pulsar Gaming Gears, and the latest sign that elite Counter-Strike players are now drawing global tech brands on their own. Neither side disclosed the financial terms.

ZywOo Fronts the GeForce RTX 5080

ZywOo shared the news through his social media, where he highlighted NVIDIA’s latest hardware and gave special attention to the GeForce RTX 5080, calling it a must-have upgrade for gamers. NVIDIA hardware is already part of his gaming setup. Beyond the headline, the specifics stay thin: neither ZywOo nor NVIDIA disclosed the value of the deal, how long the agreement will run, or whether it includes activities beyond his role as brand ambassador.

ZywOo’s Third Hardware Sponsorship

The NVIDIA partnership is ZywOo’s third major individual sponsorship, all of them focused on gaming hardware and peripherals. It follows his collaboration with ASUS Republic of Gamers, where he became the official global ambassador for ROG gaming keyboards, and his work with Pulsar Gaming Gears on a signature gaming mouse project in June 2025. The run fits a broader shift in which endemic brands increasingly chase individual players alongside their traditional organisation deals, a pattern also seen in the Razer NiKo Collection and Red Bull’s signing of TenZ.

One of Five CS Players to Land a Major Brand Deal

ZywOo is only the fifth esports player in Counter-Strike history to reach ambassador status with a major international company. The full historical list is below, and the site adds a telling footnote: of the five, only ceh9 reportedly did not receive direct financial profit from his deal, a measure of how much the market has changed in the years since.

Player

Brand

Year

ceh9

Intel

2011

2018

NiKo

Razer

m0NESY

Logitech

2026

ZywOo

NVIDIA

2026

A Decorated CS Career

The brand interest tracks with ZywOo’s standing in the game. He has established himself as one of the most successful players in Counter-Strike history, winning multiple Major championships and collecting more than 30 MVP awards across his career. He has also earned four HLTV Player of the Year titles, a feat managed by only a handful of players in the game’s history.

NVIDIA and ZywOo have not said how long the partnership will run or whether it stretches beyond the ambassador role, leaving the scope of the deal as the main open question as endemic brands keep pursuing Counter-Strike’s biggest individual names.

Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, Astralis’ in-game leader and rifler, has stepped away from social media after receiving death threats and a wave of online abuse following the team’s elimination from the IEM Cologne Major 2026. The 27-year-old Dane deleted his apps as the harassment escalated in early June, posting only a brief “See you after the break” before going quiet. Astralis condemned the abuse and gave Nielsen its full backing, with owner Jonas Gundersen calling the harassment unacceptable and pressing social media companies for tighter regulation.

Regarding the recent abuse our players have faced online. pic.twitter.com/jYptK35JBy

What Triggered the Abuse

The harassment intensified after Astralis crashed out of IEM Cologne Major 2026 in Stage 2 with a 1-3 record. Beating GamerLegion in their opening match proved a false dawn, as three straight defeats followed, including a 13-6 loss to TYLOO, before paiN Gaming ended the team’s major campaign prematurely. HooXi admitted the sudden exit left him in shock, and while he was not the only Astralis player to be targeted online, he bore the greater weight of it.

Astralis and Jonas Gundersen Condemn the Harassment

Astralis moved quickly to put a protective wall around its shot-caller. In an official statement, the organisation called the abuse completely unacceptable and reminded the community that, behind the avatars and the professional jerseys, its players are human beings doing their best under immense pressure. Team owner Jonas Gundersen went further, describing the harassment as something the organisation would never understand and calling on social media platforms to do more, with much tighter regulation and better moderation tools to protect players from toxic environments.

A Wider Harassment Crisis in Esports

HooXi’s case is the latest in a run of violent fan abuse aimed at professional players, and other organisations have started building their own defences. Gen.G CEO Arnold Hur has announced the creation of a dedicated in-house legal department whose sole job is to track down anonymous online attackers and file lawsuits against anyone targeting the team’s players or their families.

HooXi’s Polarising Astralis Tenure

HooXi joined Astralis in mid-2025 as the tactical mind brought in to architect a rebuild at an organisation that was once the undisputed dynasty of Counter-Strike and has spent years trying to recapture that form. He serves a twin role as both shot-caller and rifler, and has been central to the team’s strategic approach since arriving, after notable stints with several top organisations including G2 Esports. He has remained a divisive figure throughout, with his individual fragging numbers drawing scrutiny from fans who expect every player on a roster to carry their weight mechanically, while supporters argue his value lies in strategy, communication and team cohesion. Reflecting on the Cologne exit, HooXi pointed to a frustrating disconnect between the team’s knowledge and its execution.

HooXi has not said how long his break from social media will last, leaving Astralis to regroup around its in-game leader while the calls for tighter platform regulation it has made publicly now sit with the social media companies they were aimed at.
